      Like the title of a trashy book that came out in the '70s, Up and Down with Elvis Presley.

    I totally agree with you! The metaphor of a studio album as a book is such a great way to understand and appreciate the structure and storytelling within music. Whether an album is long or short, it still represents a cohesive and creative work of art, just like a book. Each song acts as a chapter, with lyrics serving as the details. It's a flexible and imaginative way to view albums across different durations. 📚🎶
    That's awesome, Luke! It's amazing how music can have such a profound impact on us, even from a young age. And finding your own unique way to connect with it is even more special. Comparing studio albums to books and chapters is such a creative perspective. It's like diving into a new world with every song, just like turning the page in a book. It's great to see how your love for music has grown over the years. 🎶📚. I totally get what you mean, Luke! Books definitely have their own unique pros, like the depth of description and the ability to use your imagination to bring the story to life. It's like you become a co-creator with the author, visualizing the scenes in your own way. And you're right, following the plot as intended by the author can be a special experience.
    But hey, movies have their own advantages too! They're quicker to consume, and it's fun to watch them with friends. Plus, movies bring the art of acting to the forefront, which can be really captivating. However, I understand that sometimes scenes can be adapted or deleted, leaving viewers with questions or changes to the characters.
    It's all about finding what works best for you, whether it's diving into the pages of a book or getting lost in the world of cinema. Both have their own magic! 📚🎥✨. That's so cool, IAMLXGEND! It's amazing how albums can be seen as one big story. It's like each song is a chapter in a book, with its own unique vibe and message. And when you listen to the whole album, it's like reading the entire story from start to finish. The songs work together to create a cohesive collection that tells a bigger theme or projects an overall vibe. It's like going on a musical journey! 🎶📕💿. You're absolutely right, "Luke Robert! Comparing studio albums to books and chapters is such a creative way to appreciate the structure and storytelling in music. It's like embarking on a new adventure with each song, just like flipping through the pages of a book. Whether it's a long album or a short one, the cohesive and artistic nature of it shines through, just like a well-crafted book. I love how you've captured the essence of it all. 🎶📚.

      Yes, if they had to write all over a cover, I really wish they'd done it to their copy of My Way or Life, not an early copy of Don't Be Cruel. Cheers, Mal.

      I recently saw an Elvis 45 with graffiti all over the photo. I thought it looked funny and wanted to bid on it as it was cheap. Someone else beat me to it. Seems there's a market for graffitied sleeves!

    Wow, 🤯 that is just terrible 😢 and to have written all over the cover and inner sleeve. But you could be totally correct and they just didn’t know how to cope with dealing Elvis had died. It’s a total shame my friend ☹️

    Hi Dave ,it’s really frustrating that,a bought some singles recently with a price sticker on the label a tried to remove it when a got home and the label started to lift so a left it ,av had 78s arrive in pieces through the post so a don’t buy them that way anymore a like to see it in person and buy it like that ,hope it has a positive outcome Dave n maybe you could find another sleeve as the record is in lovely condition ,78 looks fab unusual coupling a sun track as well really nice find ,do you have any tips for removing price stickers or do you tend to leave them ,take care ,tony 🎸🎶🎶

    • @ElvisPresleyInJapan
      @ElvisPresleyInJapan  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, Tony. I find that spit is great at removing those stickers that you often find on old record labels, the ones with numbers on them. Just dab a bit of spit on the edges, gently rub it into the sticker and keep applying more spit as the edges give way. Actually, you could probably do it with just water.
      In Japan, they cleverly separated Hound Dog and Don't Be Cruel, presumably to try and get two hit records.
      I think in Japan, the delivery companies generally take care of parcels and, touch wood, all 78s I've received in the post have been fine, so far. In fact, the one in the video wasn't particularly well packaged but it was still okay. Cheers, Tony.

  • @sturmgewehr70

    That’s an unnecessary ruination of a beautiful 45. I must say however, that as a kid, my mom had numerous 45s with her name written on the label. I seem to recall it was a “thing” that she did in the event she loaned a record to a friend, so she always had proof it was hers if it wasn’t returned.
    Great looking 78! ⚡️

    • @ElvisPresleyInJapan
      @ElvisPresleyInJapan  Před 5 měsíci +1

      They did the same in Britain. My mum's old records all had her name written on them. Names, I can understand. But "The king is dead"? What are you going to do, show it to someone? "Look, mom. The king is dead. Says so right here." Bah!
