    OMG how things have changed for us old timers! I am just getting back into the sport after a short absence of about 14-15 years, Side puller! Dacron connector! Internal Bush! I am so pleased I have found this channel, some fantastics videos. I even sit and hold my pole wrong now well it is 20ish years old and I have too due to the weight. Looks like I need to make a few investments. I have had the odd day at my very local Commercial in the last few years but normally tuck myself away. Alot to learn. Thanks for the videos. More on Partridge please.

    Hi Guys thanks for another awesome video explaining how to elasticate your top kits. I'm going to do mine when it arrives as I've got the best missus in the world who has bought me a Daiwa Matchwinner MW2 13m pole with the spare kits and cupping kit, can't wait to christen it maybe on Hayfield lakes. Keep the videos coming guys whether they are serious match fishing or challenges you both do, tight lines 👍

    Great vid as always, Answered a lot of questions with a giggle 👍. Ive just bought a lovely 10 metre matrix torque carp margin pole, sadly it didn't come pre bushed and I've had a lot of difficulties getting a bush to fit correctly. All the matrix bushes have been out of stock online so I bought a maver bush at the correct size and that was slightly to loose so I've just had to order a load of different make bushes to see if one will fit nicely.

      @stevemccrory9130 Před 3 lety +2

      Vernier calipers or a micrometer that will measure the internal diameter of your pole tip will help your search. A good tackle shop will be able to do this for you, and then be able to narrow down the correct sized bush for you. It can also be done using the narrow No1 section from a match kit (the useless bit the lads mentioned) and a standard micrometer. Push the narrow end of the No1 into the narrow end of the No2 until it is a snug fit, but not tight. Mark this point on the No1 with a sharp blade. Measure the diameter at the mark with the micrometer....and Bob's your cross-dressing aunt. The internal pole tip diameter should be 0.1-0.2mm larger than the outer diameter of the bush you fit. Then its a case of deciding on rhe bore size for elastic you want to use. You are welcome.

    Great video lads, good to know how to elasticate a top kit with a side puller hole, by the way Jamie the knot you used to connect the elastic to the braid looked like a figure of eight knot which doesn't get used much nowadays. Perhaps you could do another video all about knots next time

  • @TheMeta6
    @TheMeta6 Před 3 lety +5

    If you get stuck with an old tip kit with no elastic in it a couple of shot on the end of a piece light line can be dropped through the kit and then used to pull the elastic through... takes seconds

    • @jamsams
      @jamsams Před 3 lety

    Advantageous is a word Andy, I tried making your short dacron from the first video but you did it too fast, this is a much clearer video which is now very easy to follow, I've also found an even easier way to attach normal dacrons without fiddling about trying to get the two loops to thread the elastic through.

    • @WinningWays
      @WinningWays  Před 3 lety +1

      They 1001 has a shorter topkit than your 201 will have, so even though they will be compatible, for the best performance you will want the version 4 kits. Just match the number you have to how varied your fishing is.
