1 month from the 1 year anniversary of this garage gym build. 3 years from my original start of my first basement gym. Updated tour of where I am at with it!
Thanks! I’ll be doing an update tour soon - picked up some things - prime knockoff lat pulldown plate loaded, new prime stability pad for my freemotion. Etc.
This is what I'm talking about! Awesome gym. I'm tired of watching all of these 25k gyms with mostly a Rogue or REP 6 post cage, a complete Rogue dumbbell set, and a Swiss army of attachments for the cage. This is what I want to do with my garage gym is some select pieces like the Prime leg curl/extension machine, the Nautilus chest press. All the machines I know I enjoy using and would use for many years to come. (Even though it's a cramped space horizontal recording shows more than vertical)
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it. I’m trying to see if I can maybe somehow fit something else. Hip adductor/abductor or multi hip would be too my list. Also looking into flywheels. Made some updates already since this filmed (minor)
Thanks man! I started planning before I even moved in (moved in august 2022, started designing in June 2022). I had ideas of what I wanted in the space and did a lot of layouts in PDF viewers on plans and also took a ton of measurements. Still in shock everything I planned for exactly as I needed it to. Still some upgrades planned for years to come but I’m in a good spot for now!
Thank you very much! It’s a dream space for me. Seeing your gym and others in the space inspired the hell out of me when I was in my small basement gym with limited non-commercial equipment
Great tour and Gym, Joe! You've done well with finding what works for you and fitting it all in very efficiently. It's not easy creating a comfortable space in a single car garage, but you've done just that. Very well done!
Means a lot coming from you man! Really appreciate your help with the chest piece in particular, loving this 2ST so much and glad I passed up the cybex dual axis for this. I’m sure I’ll have more things to bounce off you in the future haha. I’m serious about hitting you up at some point to train! I need more friends that like equipment collecting/training. All my friends I used to train with are all over the country and back where I used to live before coming to Virginia. Thanks again for the kind words man
This garaje gym blow me away. I'm planning right now my own, and I have to say that I have pretty much the same exact space as you do. I'm looking for a combo Leg Curl/ Leg Extension seated, also a nice Functional Dual Pulley Machine, do you recommend any brands in particulary? By the video it looked that you tried quite a few different machines over the years. Prime after taxes here in Spain is crazy expensive, but I dont wan't top buy a piece of junk that I will regret afterward. I know you are from the States, but maybe you know someone that sells second hand gym equipment here in Europe? You have no idea how hard is it to find nice gym equipment here...
I use the matrix horizontal leg press for calf raises mostly (90% of my calf volume). The hip flexed position is so stable and no spinal loading, and it’s very stretch friendly on the calves. I love this seated calf but I probably will swap it out. Have my eyes on a nautilus nitro lat pulldown to replace in that space instead.
@@josephearhart6623 ya I have to update because I added a Powertec leg sled. Now I’m done but it sucks because it’s over :( no more big machines can fit. I’m wondering if u see a better lay out in my gym. As it is a true one car garage I think 10x20 feet so no extra space like you have on the side. And I think urs is a bit longer. Great job on urs. I want to add an Atlantis incline chest press. But it’s expensive my whole gym cost less than ur prime row I think lol
No rack! Sold off my PRx rack. I never used it much for anything but squatting in, and since I prefer hack squats to barbell squats I don’t use a rack.
The cybex hack (lying selectorized) is amazing. Fries the quads, great stability and movement feeling. Really low spinal loading. As Dr mike says - great stimulus to fatigue ratio. One of my favorite hack squats I have used actually. I don’t mind starting at the bottom, keeps form extremely consistent since you know you can actively start at the bottom and you know where your depth is at. Acts as a safety too because if you try to get below your bottom active range of motion the machine stops you there. I really like starting from the bottom
@@josephearhart6623 there was a life fitness one I tried that I just couldn’t fit in comfortably and couldn’t set my self up properly. But I’ve never tried a better version of those types of leg machines.
@@justinjerolman497 Alright, where I live I have heavy winters and issues with hail during rain storms in the spring. Therefore I just always keeps my vehicle under cover.
I have a decent sized driveway that houses my 2 cars haha. I have never parked in a garage my whole life so I don’t know what I am missing. Why start now, garages are for gyms!
Great Garage Gym!! Perfect use of space!!!
Nacho really came through and hooked you up with some nice pieces!
Absolute work of art!

Livin the dream there brotha 💪🏻
Incredible that's a dream home gym for sure and with such a small space you have done incredible 10/10 for sure!

Pretty nice gym
This has got to be the most efficient use of space I’ve seen in any home gym! Very impressive. Thanks for sharing!

@@josephearhart6623 I remember that gym, which threw me off a little when I saw this video pop up. Congratulations! You did well!

Sweet gym!!!
Love your gym! Hook me up with Ignazio. I live in the DMV as well.
Haha ok no worries. Not sure how to share his contact without it being super public. DM me on Instagram or messenger on Facebook
Nice home gym
Space
I would def switch the calf machine for something else like many leg presses can easily do calves

@@josephearhart6623 What about the prime equipment? May I ask how much that cost?
Damn looks great u should check out my single car garage but it’s is bigger I’m pretty sure. How did u get that prime row? Paid brand new price?
You have a nice set up for a one car man just checked it out!
And I bought it new haha. The two prime pieces were brand new.

here's my question about garage gyms... where do you store your car. Im not knocking anybody or anything, just curious lol.
You know the driveway that leads up to your garage?.. I keep my vehicles on that.

Most people have their garages filled with junk and park their car right in front of their garage.
