    Just a suggestion but what I would do is create a 12-week training plan. Within each workout I would make a list of which pieces of equipment, exercises, sets, reps, weight goals, etc. That way you will know in advance what you are going to do and have a way of tracking progress. I like "free-style" training as well and do it occasionally, but I find it's better to have a plan. But again, just a suggestion.

      Thanks Jay, for sure , I actually got a notebook in the gym, that I use to track various things, but to me based on my experience, the intuitive style training (I wouldn't say free style because there's still a general plan) is always is path of least resistance that predictable enough for my needs for muscle definition and size comes in. I plan on selling one of these types of programs in the year. But I'm talking more so for bodybuilding. When I work with strength or sport athletes, that's a different more specific programming all together. And probably got your point, to maximize all this equipment and not jump around too much, I am doing more specific programming right now with certain machines. Thanks for that comment!

    The gym looks amazing. I'm with you on the X3 paraforce bands. They are different than any other bands I've used through the years. Much smoother and less stress on the joints in my opinion...

      I also think they are built denser and are less likely to snap compared to other bands.

      @@hybridresistance it's good for you to get your heart rate near maximum a few times a week, take it from someone that had open heart surgery and a stroke last year, the docs said my fitness level had a lot to do with me still living.

      @@hybridresistance a killer that I like is warmup for a few minutes, then every minute, go 15 seconds all out, I mean really as fast as you can, then coast for 45 seconds. If you can do 5 minutes of that to start, you'll be soaking wet pretty quickly, and you're metabolism will be raised for the whole day. Good luck!

    Surprised we didn't see rings in your gym. I know you've used them in the past. I think if I were starting a home gym today I'd have a functional trainer, total gym, Leg press/hack squat machine, and rings.

      Still got a pair in my basement, I just find that for the general movement patterns, there's other things I'd personally prefer. I meant to mention in the video that there's a lot of popular gym equipment that I don't have that others love. Thanks for sharing your picks.

    Nice setup. Still waiting for that flywheel video lol. On your Speediance did you try to set the weight to 15 pounds pull the cable all the way out and let it go back in slowly. That pretty much the fix they say. Worked for mine

      The one company that sells the flywheel was pretty steep for me in price. But I will keep looking. I didn't try that on the Speediance, but thanks for sharing that. I figured it was something simple like that. I know my max pro has that same fix when it gets weird. I will try that for sure. Thank you!

      Haha, I don't know about that. Like I said, for some garage gym enthusiasts this is a "poor man's" version of a garage gym, but it definitely more than enough for me.

    u have a variety of machines,bars,bands,dumbells,plates to quit the gym mike😂especially that lever gym,its still on my get list,u have enough not to get bored,if u get tired of one thing u can switch up,nice gym mike👍

    You say that the Lever Gym doesn't give much, so I would rather use the POWERTEC Workbench Multipress. It seems familiar, but way better. Are you ever gonna review that maybe, soon?

      The lever gym is definitely awesome, I just meant in the video for how I’m using it (as of right now) there’s just a few staples on it because I’m using other stuff in place of other exercises. I don’t think I’ll review the powertec stuff anytime soon because I don’t have the space, and I do feel this machine pretty much does everything the base machine can do. But never say never.     Awesome home gym Mike. No way you could get bored there. Do you still use the Gr8 flex? That looks like an awesome piece of equipment with the resistance bands built in. Anyway another great video.

      I don't use the GF just because I can't fit all the different TGs up in my garage. Funny story, I gifted my GF and now the person no longer wants it. There's a reason there's a big resale market for SBTs, I have a hard time just giving them away!

    Do you like doing squats on the lever gym? I like doing my squats on the lever gym but it sucks starting from the bottom position though. I think it is as good as the smith machine.

      Yes, definitely. I think they feel super smooth. I actually think better than a smith machine in the way the levers arc. That's going to be one of the exercises I'll be swapping in for my lower body programming for sure in the future.

      I think the leverage gym should give you three safety rods and not two. I reached out and they sent me a third for free. That way you have one holding both lever arms together, then another a position low enough the catch the weight in you fail, then third you put it just high enough so you can get the weight up and pull the pin out. I just hold the third one in my hand and if I didn’t reach failure I slide it back in the spot and it catches the weight. This way you don’t have to start in a low position which is a pain to get out of with heavy weight.
