These are not just some of the best instructional videos out there for the cello, they are some of the best instructional videos period. Thank you, Abigail.
I have found these to be the most helpful videos ever for learning the cello. I have learnt a lot technically and have been encouraged to try again even when I was feeling that I wasn't making much progress. Thank you so much! Ingrid
I make notes on Abigail's videos, so I can remember her pointers later without watching the whole video, and so I can go back and practice along with her in certain passages. Start w a few focus spots sixteenth passage at m10-12 :10 loop of m10-11 (with the sixteenths) :35 loop of m11-12 - stops before string crossing to C. Play-stop-move (arm below elbow)-play doesn't move whole arm, just lower arm from elbow, because notes are fast 1:07 m11-12 practice loop together 4X 1:26 m11-12 without pause loop sixteenths - no time for a lot of bow - quick simple easy 1:55 put 2 chunks together m10-12 loop practice 4X trill 2:25 trill at 20 - first practice w/o trill 2:58 add trill - practice -- faster trill runs 3:25 run at 21 start w shift 4:15 plays whole run passage v slowly takes final A-A to fourth position (half notes w formata) 6:05-7:10 plays run section a little faster 7:20-8:05 a teeny bit faster 8:10 faster end of Part 1
As I was playing with you on the 8th note run and I shifted to 4th position I heard what you said and just had to comment about it! It makes it sound better to me and I love this song. I was on this playlist of method 3 songs and was going to watch the video for La Cin. but I had to watch this one firts because I love this song.
Abigail, you are so good. And so generous with your good. I'm self-studying for various reasons right now and I can't thank you enough for your skill and humor. Yes!
I don't know why, but the way she talks and her movements in this video looks like a character from the nancy drew games (not meant to be offensive though).. great video by the way, very helpful

Have you retired to spend all your money 💰 😊
Your videos are very helpful, but in this one it's quite dark and I can't see what strings your hands are playing very well.
