  • Want to record your stream on the X-USB, X-Live, or OBS? User Output Routing is where you can do this! User Routing on the firmware version 4 and newer allows for 1 to 1 patching on the Behringer X32 and Midas M32. In this video I talk about how to use User Routing on the output side as well as a few examples that I see all of the time out in venues and churches.

Great info as always! I find a great lesson for these is connecting 2 consoles and setting up user routing to send all the outputs through a stage box or local outputs (IE, setting outputs 13-16 to take Fill, Sub, and Main LR from the FOH console and the other outputs fed from the monitor console)

I need guidance on how to do output to the different stage boxes not to a stream. For example, we want our mains going out of the main consul, we want our in ears going out of a stage box. I thought this worked like user input routing, but it doesn’t appear to. I was hoping you could simply send output one to XLR one for example, on the console and output two to AES 50 output one.

I was initially confused about how the User Input 8-channel blocks could feed the X-Dante card as outputs. I then really got confused when I discovered that User Output 8-channel blocks could contain both Inputs and Outputs, both of which functioned as outputs when used with the X-Dante card. Thanks to Drew's videos, I think I now understand. For input sources, the User Input 8-channel blocks can be used for both X32 Inputs and X-Dante card inputs whereas User Output 8-channel blocks can only be used to configure the input to the expansion card, in my case, the X-Dante card and can contain both Inputs and Outputs of all types.

Hey Drew, great explanation of the X32 features. Some real gems you’ve shared, thank you! One question I do have is how can a person make use of all 48 user outs, given the USB card only caters for 32 outputs?

Hello Drew, great info in this video. My scenario is: I have an X32 compact at foh and a DL32 on stage. Is have all the mix busses sent 1 to 12 to the DL32, but some times I need to sent a signal to a delay speaker right next to the foh. Is it possible to use any local XLR output with a different signal that those sent to the DL32?
    Thank you very much!

Hi Drew, Thank you for this vid. I like the idea of using card out 31 and 32. However, if I am not mistaken, OBS only sees output 1 and 2. How can I configure OBS to use 31 and 32 for my livestream? Thx

    • @mcakins2
      @mcakins2 Před rokem +1

Yes Drew, this user is right. You dropped the ball on the output to OBS in Windows. That output to OBS is determined by the ASIO driver which can only output 1 and 2 to Windows for use in OBS etc. You can record your stream on 31 and 32 but OBS will never see it unless you extrude on 1 and 2.

Thanks for your videos Drew. Great help. I am trying to figure out one thing, not sure it's possible. I have 4 stereo mix busses for the band's IEMs. They use the phone app to mix their own IEM sends on those 4 stereo mix buss pairs. They would like to have another stereo mix of the drum kit they can easily adjust in their IEM without having to mix all the individual drum inputs. Yeah, I know, the best way is teach them to use the MCAs in the app and group the drums into one but thought I'd try this. Can't figure out a way to do this internally without physically looping the drum mix out and back in to one of the channels tying up a physical output & input in the process. I'm on a X32 Rack so plenty of channels and busses but a little limited on physical inputs/outputs. Am I missing something basic or is this just not possible in routing? Again thanks!

When I use the routing that you showed on the video I don’t get my local in 1 and aes50 2 to play back on the faders that They are assigned to. It should show up on the output I assigned it to right?

Hello Drew . Thanks for the video . Couple days ago my crew and I was wonder about interesting routing . We have M32 at FOH and one MON Engeneer with in-ear monitor. Ones he hit the Solo knob he should hear band in-ear mixes and correct them . At the same time we wanted to have ability to talk 2 mics to his in-ears . One mic is from FOH position and second mic is on opposite stage left/right to hi. It would be better also to have ability to have 3rd mic for intercom with FOH . So main question is it possible to send SOLO BUS to Mon engeneer together with FOH and Stage mics . I suppose we have this opportunity but I wanted to use minimum channels /bus/matrix for this purpose. I think many of your viewers could have the needs of intercom solutions.

Hi i do enjoy your video on the x32
I have a question about PC version for the x32 you was showing us how to do users routing coming from the console.... But my question is how do I get my x32 edit program to do users routing in single block of 1?
Like for example i have a stage box on stage and the x32 front of house and i would like to route the live streaming audio coming from the back of the x32.
cause i would it set up coming through the User output?
How do i do that on my x32 edit program?

The stage box will have 18 radio mics going in and I planned to have my two mains come out of it and also set up two stage monitors as well.
This is for a musical theatre show in two weeks.
Please could you advise best way of setting up all the routing?

Drew, love your channel. Here is an idea for a video. Many of us use the X32 system and hate it when we play somewhere that has an analog FOH, but we want to use our P16's etc. A splitter rig can get quite expensive, but I think our system could do the same thing. If I used my stage boxes (Sd16 and an SD8)to my X32, then with an extra S32 I have, could I set the 16 outs on the S32 to Direct outs of the channels we are using with the tap being set to in/lc? So I would have the band using P16's just like we always do and the FOH would get a raw, untouched signal from each instrument from my S32. If this would work, it would make a great video. So many people want to use their X32 system but don't want to spend a fortune on more equipment like splitters, etc.

Drew, thanks for how to setup for x-LIVE recording. I setup my x32 for matrix 1 for PA top L, matrix 2 for PA top R, and Matrix 3 for subs as mono. In this routing video I think I need to have an output 30 for the sub matrix, correct? Not just 31 and 32 for mains? I like being able to control the sub volume separate from the tops but we just bought EV tops that match our EV subs. Should I change the use of matrices to use the X32 default Main LR bus and the MC bus now that the powered EV enclosures can handle the crossover main to subs? Thank you.

Hey Drew, my band plays to multitracks. I recently started sending those multitracks to separate channels on my mixer - electric guitars are going to channel 1, synths are going to channel 2, etc. I have my multitracks going to 7 channels.
I also multitrack record everything session so we can later post it.
I am looking for a way to send the aforementioned 7 channels to my multitrack recording (maybe through a stereo bus), but I wanted those tracks to arrive automated into my recording.
However, I DON’T want my EQ moves to go into my recording. I only want my fader moves to go into my daw.
    What you think?

NOW, our church has 8pieces of P16 connected to MIDAS M32 ,We want to purchase a set of IEM system which is 4 channels Transmitter so that our 4 vocalists can monitor their own sound separately, however, IF we connect the IEM system to MIDAS M32 , we can not connect to P16 but we want to use the functions of P16 would you please help us how to do this.

Do you know what the tap point is? Meaning, if you assign IN 1 to one of the user outputs, is that at the head amp level? I'm guessing there's no way to get it to include the processing (comp, eq). Thinking through a way to get away from P16's. May switch to Klang, but sending unprocessed audio to a monitoring solution isn't very appealing.

How about routing the outputs to an AES50 out, like a sd16? I can not for the life of me figure out how to specify the outputs on them. I have a mixbus that I want to send to an output thats on my sd16, but its not as clear as assigning an input thats coming from it.

Bonjour voilà mon problème j'ai fait ce que Musictribe ma donner M32 FOH AES50 A > DL32 AES50 A (une petite précision c'est une table Behringer )
    DL32 AES50 B > M32C AES50 A
