Exactly. My friend has a saxophone and he forgot to change the reed and it went rotten or something and he tried to play it.
Saxophone is a woodwind because it requires a wooden (or plastic now) mouthpiece and reed to be played, and the sound is caused by the vibration of the reed against the mouthpiece
Meanwhile Brass instruments have a metal mouthpiece that is put into the instrument and sound is caused by the buzzing of the lips and the amount of air pushed through the instrument

Okay I know this was meant to be fun as well but honestly hearing you guys talk so sanely about Covid and the nutjobs in America and on the internet was so comforting. It's nice to know y'all feel the same way about the absolute... yikes part of American politics and ideology. It makes us all feel like we're not alone. Thank you for your honesty and humor it greatly improved my day.

It's so crazy how people think it's not a big deal. I mean if you live with people and someone has to go to work and gets it, as long as everyone gets tested and nobody leaves the house until everyone is negative, that's one thing. The fact that the frat guy knew everyone in his house had Covid and still had a party? Stupid. Why do Americans think they are so entitled that they can't stay home for a few months to slow down the cases and eventually stop them. I've been out of work and sitting in my house for 7 months because I have a compromised immune system. My husband has been back at work for several months now at a theme park. So him coming home from that is a risk as well. He has to be extra careful so as not to bring it home to me. It's so sad that we still are living this way just because people refuse to stay home.

Isaac Hutchison I don’t think they meant literally all Americans, and for sure many of us aren’t that, but this kind of “taking freedom too far” thing that’s endangered so many people does seem to be a uniquely American problem. :(

Ian is actually correct, woodwind and brass are called wind instruments.
Correct, but when I played trumpet, we usually generalized any horns as “brass” and any reed instruments as “wind/woodwind”. 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah sax is woodwind because the Reed is the part of the instrument that basically makes the sound and then you just change the pitch with the rest of the instrument.
yup. wind because you use air to play them. woodwind is wind instrument that (most of the time) uses a wooden reed or mouthpiece to make noise. the flute is an outlier because most flutes are made of some sort of metal body entirely but historically they were made of wood
I really love these sort of discussions where you talk about something you didn't realise was upsetting or insensitive and how you've learned from it. It sets a good example and it's nice to see the vulnerability of being corrected.

I know the 5 things warmup is just supposed to be the cast warm up before TNTL sketches but honestly I think people would love to watch something like that. Its fresh and the energy was very engaging during that segment of the Podcast. plus the sheer randomness of it is fantastic.

I'm so happy they talked about the entire Poki situations, people are so quick to bring down women who are doing well. May it be out of jealousy or some other malicious intentions. I gained a lot more respect for them by hearing their perspective.
Yeah it was great to hear from them. I kinda wish they'd brought up comments on their own videos towards Courtney and Olivia cause I definitely see a lot of comments putting them down or being super sexist and it always pisses me off

I love the fact that we get to see Kevin a lot more often than usual in this episode. I feel like he could be good at guiding the hosts and asking them questions, giving them directions, asking them to come back to a story they mentioned or to focus more deeply on something. Not being an interviewer but guiding them a little and be more present, that'd be nice

Not going to lie, feels like I’m the one being punished for quarantined, when everyone is living life but I’m being punished for being responsible
Dude we can’t just sit in our houses forever. The economy is gonna go even further down the toilet and depression, suicide rates, domestic abuse rates, and alcohol/drug abuse are going to go through the roof. If you are at risk and might actually die from Corona then stay home and be careful but as someone who is healthy and is surrounded by healthy people I want to be able to go on with my life
What i like about the Try not to laugh is about characters doing silly stuff. My type of humor is physical comedy, I don't get many of the jokes that Tommy or Olivia, or Courtney make, but sometimes they are so funny!! And i love the funny faces and silly things that Shayne, Damian and Ian do. When it was the staff gauntlet video, Spencer, and Garret!! oh my! i loved it!!!
Anyway.
Keep up the good laughs it's a lot of FUN!!!

They're flexibly between the two sections. After all, French horn is an essential part off both a brass quintet and a woodwind quintet

@@Kabraxos cool. As a sound engineer and orchestrator with multiple decades of band, orchestra, chamber ensemble, et al experience... There's no clear line, and it's not like whatever delineations previously set aren't in a constant state of flux anyway, so depending on the sonic context, I will continue to group saxophones with brass and/or woodwinds.
Also, Leo P, the band Lucky Chops, classic brass bands, and big jazz band would like a word with your prejudices.
My favorite Damien character is the one he wears that striped shirt. One time he said who’s ready to play some bases ball?
