Shayne: almost dies drowning in a pool
Also Shayne: Guys I just love the ocean and water
Ceci Kahn he did die in the swimming pool when he was a baby which is honestly crazier. His mom started performing CPR and was able to get him breathing again when the paramedics came.
Emma Woods well I almost drowned in a pool but now I’m scared
No I’m joking I don’t get scared that way but I usually swim.
It's the Batman origin! lol
Sounds like Stockholm syndrome
The duality of Shayne. The man who says he can't lie and spent like a year pretending to be afraid of chimps
Shayne in podcasts is like this extremely wise and knowledgeable psychologist with a lot of life experience meanwhile shayne in try not laugh be like HAHA POOP LOL
This is the most accurate description of him I have ever heard
Something something duality of man
@Decker Brady thankyou
the seconds following Courtney saying "eating out" is the BEST thing that has ever happened on youtube
I didn't understand that part very well, why did they start laughing?
try google it. you'll know why they start laughing
@UCGs0cBHYPguYPiJPJU4SdOA 13:09
is that the ginger chick?
Ian and Damien’s faces are literally saying “phrasing...”
1:02:04 Damien's "What?! Shayne!!" Is sooo adorable! There is so much excitement and love between those two! I love it! ^^
y'all know damien lowkey highkey emotional in that point in time with all the damn feels
Damien talking about anime,,,
it could be a whole podcast
I’d listen to
David Gabato IKR
No kidding!
Same
it’s amine
Almost thought it was a haiku for a second... So I'll put this into my personal haiku translator:
Maybe a podcast,
Damien and Anime,
I'd listen to it.
Personalities i get from this video:
Ian - uncle dad
Shayne - brawn and surprisingly brains
Damian - gentle giant
Courtney - ~feminine~ touch
This has been one of my favorite episodes of the SmoshCast. Courtney is right when she says that fans love learning more about you guys. Please continue making more episodes like this.
I'd also like to make a suggestion for a possible future topic to discuss on the podcast. I would love to see a SmoshCast (or a series of Smosh Pit videos) where you guys discuss and tell stories about former Smosh shows like Day Jobs and Smosh & Order. Some shows have been briefly spoken of in previous Smoshcasts, but I really want to know about the creation, production, and what you really thought about those shows. Like why did Day Jobs only last a few episodes? What was it like filming with those businesses? How did Nick Uhas get involved in Smosh Labs? What was the preparation like for filming Smosh & Order? These unanswered questions keep me up at night.
Actually smosh and order was bozes idea and now that she's gone I don't think they'll continue it
Suzie 55 yeah but there’s no reason why we can’t here more about it
I love those suggestions! I hope they do talk about these topics soon!
Agree!
Holy moly you dove deep in these suggestions...
I love Courtney and Damien’s interactions they so wholesome
Clara Webster omg yes same
they’re baby
but they are supposed to be RiVaLs
she did dye it! i actually really like courtney’s hair
Right
the looks they give each other when she said "eating out" was great
courtney’s “eating out” bit got me💀💀
Andrea :0 I don’t get it:(
Hackram maybe it’s better it stays that way then
@@Andrea-ml3pe agreed😂😂😂
13:09 the facial responses after "eating out",the bois joking about it,just great 😂😂😂
I love that Shayne is getting a psych degree. Shout out to all my fellow BA Psych degree holders!
Hey you got a job for me? I'm watching smosh unemployed and midday.
And the jobs we don’t have!!!!!
but how DOES kevin have a fresh haircut everyday?
tom bydand he’s gonna be bald soon
He cuts a different hair every morning.
He's bald and wears a wig
0:49
Right
I really relate to Damien with having that fear of vast dark 'empty' spaces like the ocean, but still enjoy swimming
Alexandra M same
It’s a legitimate fear, I think it is Thalassophobia or something.
I definitely have it, but I love being at the beach up to my shoulders.
Pools are fine.
@@Hoopzenator thats a really easy thing to have a strong fear of though? And phobias are more serious like, id imagine someone with thalassophobia would legitimately struggle to swim in the ocean..?
Amazing how Ian talked about Parasite as an art unknown film and it went all the way to the best film at the Oscars!
Yessss my favourite group Shayne Courtney Damien and Ian
oh my gosh-
smosh DEFINITELY needs to make a video of them camping...
that’s a yes from me
42:20 how did they not mention "I sailed my boat on the quotient" lol
1:03:12 when courtney says she's watched Demon Slayer too and Damien looks like he's about to flip the table
Every week they talk about the podcast running out of time.....then make them longer. Who is going to complain. Can literally listen to them talk for 10 hours. And I have. I listened to multiple podcasts back all day once. Would anyone object to longer podcasts? And just let them end organically?
Yea that would be good if they were longer but maybe its because they have other videos to make or other stuff to do.
I love when people talk about what they are passionate about they just get so into it and most of the times you learn something you didn’t know
16:57 Damien's seen Nails Hair Hips Heels my life is complete.
Gay icon, every other straight guy are shook ! No but seriously I did a double turn on the treadmill when I heard that !
Lmao during the anime discussion Courtney was checked out
I’m from Nebraska and I legit didn’t think her list was weird until Shane said something🌽
Ian, sarcastically: WHADDUP NERDS! Welcome to Nerdcast!
Me: Okay but wait, I’m kind of down for this format.
1:16:16 damien and courts little hand hold was so cute!
Damien, Shane, and Ian: *talks about anime
Courtney:............
SmoshCast is such an underrated series. So funny but also very down to earth and very wholesome. Keep it up guys.
courtney: i love eating out
ian: eheehehehehehehe
damien: just smile and look good dont make her embarassed
ian: :OOOOOOOOOOO
shayne: omg she just said that
damien: hold it together hold it together
When Damien brought up anime my ears perked up, and when Shayne talked about Promised Neverland I was like "LET'S GET IT!!!"
Everyone should watch Promised Neverland, its SO GOOD!!!
awe damien was so happy when shayne said he had been watching it
Damien is so amazing to watch when he's talking about his passions
Damien is adorable and Courtney had like 7 things to say😂😂😂❤
Shanniah Dias Esteves yess
Damien is very adorable
Courtney: *talking about music videos*
Me: *war flashbacks from the ghost of you by mcr*
One of my favorite songs and music videos ever.
*remix of ignition*
Whoa, I didn't know that Shayne was that close to having his degree, that's awesome! If all goes well, I'll be done with classes too in just a couple months
I like Ian waaaay more now cause of this vid. I would actually suggest doing a series where Ian goes around coffee places and doing either vlog stuff or a semi-informative just because of the refreshing look Ian had when talking about coffee. The saying "Passion is sexy" in CZcams means more like "Passion is entertaining to watch".
You guys NEED to break Damien's camping cherry, and film it for our enjoyment. Pro tip, get him to set up an old school tent. I stan Dark Damien. ^_~
LMAOOO 13:10 IAN YOU DIRTY LITTLE, POOR COURTNEYYYY
I didn't understand that part very well, why did they start laughing?
These four are definitely the four faces of Smosh
Shayne talking about the ocean is giving me flashbacks to his aquaman song
I am a loyal follower of Ian’s coffee review
I freaked when Courtney mentioned Wolf’s Rain! That’s my absolute favorite anime, so so good!
why is this foursome the most endearing, sweet, charming and hilarious group of friends ever?? i seriously love these 4 so much, their dynamic is just really something else. it's so genuine and they seem to really have such sincere friendships and deep bonds with one another. it's just awesome. idk. i love it. and i love them. :')
I gotta say, it’s really refreshing to see the Smosh cast talk about themselves and not have to put on a character.
I could listen to them talk about anything and I'd be entertained.
36:08 - and thats how MyFavouriteCoffee was born, kids. 🙂
Just wanted to say that I love every korean movies Ian recommended.
I'm also a big fan of Korean cinema. Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-Wook are my favorite directors.
So thanks Ian for sharing the korean movie love.
ps : everybody, go watch The Handmaiden from Park Chan-wook, my favorite movie.
Old boy was my fave from Park Chan-wook until I watched The Handmaiden, both of them are masterpieces but the Handmaiden is breathtaking. I love thrillers in general but korean thrillers are on another level
Have you ever watched "The Yellow Sea" by Na Hong-jin? It's really good. I can only recommend it.
@@TheCarlosCobain I have, all three movies of Na Hong Jin are amazing.
seeing how passionate talking about anime seriously is the cutest thing ever.
please do #2 part of this! it's so interesting to listen when people talk about their passions
love the expressions after Courtney saying "eating out" haha
Ian: I don’t keep track of things.
Kevin: Kevin does.
Ian: we want to know more about YOU!
Me: okay here’s my favorite things:
-Smosh try not to laugh
-Smoshcast
-Smosh sketches
-drawing Smosh fan art
-writing Smosh fan fictions
Wait that isn’t really saying much
-
nope, that says a lot lol
Fanfic? Like wut
Strangest passion: Shark movies. Just got three headed shark attack at a second hand store. So pumped!
hearing shayne talk about psychology is so fascinating and i really could sit and listen to a podcast of him just rambling on and on about it jkdshfks
The "Jordan Sparks" moment is hilarious! Shayne and Ian's synchronization was perfectly timed! So many good moments in this episode!
Passions: like Damien, i like collecting rare things. except i’m more into vintage toys like troll dolls, furbies, and such. also rocks + seashells
also researching serial killers is so interesting man
i go through phases where i research serial killers and then it keeps me up at night so i fall off a bit but i always come back to it.
Shayne talking about psychology is sooooo wholesome ... it just hits a different spot in the heart ~* so precious!
I freaking love everyone at Smosh! Hope you all are doing well
Honestly one of my weirdest passions is probably medical history, just learning how bad we messed up treating diseases and the crazy stuff we thought either helped or caused illness. It’s fascinating to see how people in the past perceived a disease outbreak and how they tried to fix it versus what we know works now/knowing how disease actually spreads.
wooooah thats so fascinating righttt
I’VE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ALL WEEK
19:20 talking about half/alive; I went to their concert a few weeks ago and their concert is like being inside the video they're AMAZING
Yaaaassss Damien talking about Anime finally, I loooove anime. (My username says it all) The anime Damien mentions about an orphanage is the "The Promised Neverland" great anime. Demon slayer has an awesome animation and storyline. Personally I've been watching also Fire Force and Dr. Stone if anybody needs some anime to watch.
Shayne talking about hiking and the ocean is my spirit animal. So me.
these podcasts are the highlight of my day. they honestly make me smile so much and it makes me so happy. thank you:)
it’s so weird hearing ian talk about parasite after it’s become so successful
I love hearing you guys talk about your passions and interests and would love to see more! Getting to know more about you guys is always a treat! A few of my passions are art, architecture (since i'm studying it), design, writing/poetry, music, film/cinematography, and puzzles/riddles.
I also wanted to mention how awesome this comment section is! just love and support and quoting funny moments
Wolf's Rain is literally my favorite anime and I've never heard anyone talk about it I'm so happy
2 things guys:
1. Must watch jojo's bizarre adventure and Tokyo ghoul. 2 of my favorite animes and I show them to people who are interested in getting into anime.
2. Train to Busan is an amazing Korean zombie movie. I believe its the same director who did snowpiercer as well.
And thank you Ian for bringing up Korean cinema. The wailing was a crazy ride of a movie lol
I watch every one of these and I seriously would listen/watch this for 4 hrs. I love hearing y'all just talking about what your passionate about it's really inspiring
I really enjoy the SmoshCast podcasts. I’m so glad you guys do this.
I loved hearing the stories behind your favorite things. It gives more insight into who you are as people and what you care about. Please do another episode of this.
The podcast is so much better when you guys are just talking genuinely to each other and you've gotten much better as it's gone on!
I love how you show that you are flawed, i look up to you guys so much, you are just such nice genuine people
I didn’t realize how much we all share in common. 😁 I always feel like no one else will understand if I talk about something I like but you guys all named stuff I enjoy. 🥰
I commented on the highlight that I love when people talk about what they are passionate about, and that’s what this entire podcast is about. I don’t think I have ever been more in love with these four human beings
Smosh cast seriously is the best thing to come to Smosh in a long time. Ive enjoyed every podcast start to finish and I would love for this to keep going for a long time! Keep up the good work guys!
This podcast made me so happy. Dealing with quarantine has been so hard and something I love doing is listening to other people's passions. Thank you for this episode! :)
Years later, these smosh casts are still great
“The Swahili requirement” is a good euphemism for that issue every student has had.
My strangest passion would probably be painting abandoned golf courses. I try to do a different abandoned course every month.
Please do a part 2! Listening to you guys get so passionate is wonderful
Oh my god, Still Feel is such a mesmerising video. I've accidentally watched it so many times over and over.
Omg I love that Ian brought up Tierra Mia coffee!!! I go there all the time and their coffee is so delicious wish it got more recognition
I came here to get some anime recommendations but all the anime they talked about were those I've already watched and a realisation hit me
that I'm a giant weeb
this is the #1 podcaast on the internet. i have a super long playlist of just smoshcast and i listen to all the episodes several times. i love this please make more and ones like this are perfect. all of my fave ppl are in this video.
Right now I’m taking a General Psychology class in college , and I have to agree with Shayne, psychology is generally amazing and I’ve been thinking about minoring in Psychology. It’s just interesting learning how the human mind works and other perceptions of it. We just learned about Sleep and that lesson was very cool 😊 also hearing him being passionate about psychology makes me feel happy, in fact hearing everybody talk about what their passionate about makes me happy 😊
Also my first anime series was Attack on Titan, and while other people said it was gory. I was like “Welp, he’s gone” and kinda laughed and I only watched season one (cause it was on Netflix) and I read until book 14 (cause that’s all my library had at that time) but I really enjoy Beelzebub and Gakuen Babysitters as well as Death Note. But my first anime movie was Ponyo
What did you learn about sleep if you don't mind me asking.
Joao Ramos no I don’t mind 😊 we learned that that we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping and that we spend the most time in REM sleep when we’re falling asleep and we spend the most time in Deep sleep when we’re getting ready to wake up. We generally spend 2-3 minutes dreaming per dream we have even though we’re sleep for a long time. Newborn babies spend 16-17 hours sleeping. We generally dream about things that happened in previous days. And lots more that I can list but I don’t have my notes on me.
@@Sharye2001 That's so cool! I'm in a time of my life where I still don't know what I want to pursue in life but I have been thinking of psychology. I want to be able to decifer what my dreams are about so I can sleep better, so are you sure they're mostly about what happened the day before having them, and if you can slightly control what they're about? Sorry you're not an expert yet so if you don't know don't feel obligated to respond
Joao Ramos no not always, that’s majority of you’re dreams. You. Can control your dreams, but it just takes practice. And yeah this is not my major, but I guess they having me take it for my major. I would tell you more, but I don’t have my notes on me.
I’ve never really given anime a chance but the way Damien has described the promised never land made me had to watch it, and for my first anime I’m hooked and I love it I’m on episode eight and ive been watching non stop since like 1:00am
This is my favourite podcast!! I love hearing about all your guys passions. Please do more
I love listening to people talk about their passions. There was one time in high school where a girl went off about how much she wanted a solid gold flute and how the type of metal affects the sound it produces and then she apologized and I was like no? Keep going, she was so happy to be talking about it.
I could go on about anime and animation for days, it really has turned into a huge passion for me. Music too, I'll listen to anything. I grew up playing instruments and singing so I love learning about the nerdy side of musical theory, and I was really into kpop in high school and college. A new interest that has popped up for me recently is linguistics. I just think languages are fascinating and I love learning about how they work. Those videos where that guy critiques accents in movies and TV? My shit, I rewatch them all the time. My favorite IPA is the International Phonetic Alphabet.
By far this is one my favorite Smosh cast episodes, keep up the good work guys. Greetings from New Jersey
I love watching people talk about what they love. Please do another!!
Thank you guys so much for talking about this stuff. Super interesting! I would definitely be down for a part 2 or more. Not sure if it's weird or not, and it's quite a bit lower on my list, but I think the most obscure or random thing I'm interested in is probably Arthurian lore.
It was really great to listen to you guys talk about things you are passionate about. I shared a lot of your passions so maybe that helped but yeah i hope you do another video :D
"Courtney is passionate about acid reflux.."
Me: Yo, it's one of her assets ❤
HooHoo_ nami I don’t geddit
2:12
mechadoggy yes but I don’t get the comment
@@DevyanshBahri acid reflux = burping. Courtney's very well known for her thunderous burps
@@vaeden121578 On point. 😊
I would love more of this content!!!! It is so cool to just learn more about you guys!!!
I was thinking about switching my major about a month ago but I was confused on what I should do. I randomly stumbled upon this episode and rewatched it. Shayne talking about psychology gave me the push I needed to switch my major to psychology. I know that there is a very little chance for Shayne reading this but if you are, thanks for inspiring me. 😊
I feel the same way about music videos as Courtney. When they’re good, they can be as powerful as a great short film and they add a whole extra layer to the music they accompany.
I would love to sit down and be a part of this conversation.
TMG on try not to laugh, DO IT
I literally screamed "YES" when Shayne said Psychology
