    I love it... Haven't had for that long. I tried the A25 and took it back... I own the AKAI mini MKII and the Advanced 49 and this is probably the perfect little controller. I have Maschine MK3 for pads and even Push 1. The DAW controls on this make it the business. If it were back-pack portable it would lose the extra keys, which you don't realize makes a difference until you have them...

    Thank you! Yours is the first review I've seen that mentions the feel of the keybed. I've been looking to replace my Akai LPK25 for my portable rig because it's been causing me more rage than productivity and was considering the M32 as a frontrunner and your review seals the deal. Thank you for actually talking about it in a useful way and not simply talking about the product bullet points that I can read on a spec sheet.

    ...Just got a M32... and actually love it... BTW I got a separate case specifically for it via Amazon... which works great. Usually play a baby grand and/or a Yamaha DGX650 to get my 88 key fix... However NI’s software packs are incredible especially if you link the M32 with a Micro Maschine MK3 you can get some amazing stuff laid down linked with Logic Pro X or Ableton Live Standard.... Keep the videos coming... love the format... and keeping it real!
    All the VERY BEST!

    Appreciate the review!! Like Creating Beauty said, it's great that you've done this after getting into the groove of working with it. I had to subscribe after hearing that. As a first time viewer for your channel, I noticed the moment I really got hooked into your video was when you started actually playin the keys, because there's no doubt you've got some chops. My two cents: maybe playing some licks in your product review intros before getting into the explanations could help hook viewers into watching for longer! Thanks again, this might be the mini midi controller I end up getting!

    Dude, you're a total life saver. Your reviews that I've watched have helped me a lot candidating the right keyboards. I was gonna get a very cheap one, but now I wanna get something better. Based on your videos, I've ended up with these models: Komplete Kontrol M32, Oxygen Pro Mini and AKAI MPK Mini MK3. I wanna use it in FL Studio and also train myself some casual music theory with it (not professionally obviously) and the concept of having a drumpad set sounds cool as hell to me as well. Which one do you think would be better for me? BTW I've never had any keyboards before. Thank you a lot!

    I'm after this keyboard because of its quality, keybed, functionality and portability but I feel that not having one more octave is going to slow down my production workflow and inspiration. So I'm in the middle of M32 vs Midiplus X4 mini. What do you think, John? 1

    it's an attractive product if you're looking for compact master keyboards with above average quality keybeds. but still, it could be so much better if they'd simply used the vacant space more efficient. why not move the encoders more to the top and place some pads and / or faders below it? why no pitch and no mod wheel when this is what probably everyone would expect for those controls? why not make the OLED twice as big when the chassis would allow it? i cant imagine that there would be no room for it inside the chassis. i guess the answer to all these questions would THE PRICE. ok NI, but then simply make it twice the price and plenty of people would still throw their dollars on you. a device like would still force me to buy a 2nd device to compensate for the missing functionality. and before i would buy a 2nd one, which defeats the whole small-footprint aspect, i'd rather buy a 49 key version, which offers all of the above... from ARTURIA !

    • @MS7.7
      @MS7.7 Před 2 lety

      That's why the s49 exist but unfortunately it doesn't have pads. However, it has full control over maschine and komplete kontrol and some control on logic and ableton. I wish there was s32 with pads. Perfect companion for all purposes. I have MPK mini mk3 as well and it's the perfect companion except it doesn't have control or transport.

    I don’t think it’s difficult to travel with at all. Fits in my bags fine. Also, I love the screen but agree a little bigger woulda been cool. I took a lens out of some $5 Walmart reading glass and mounted it above the screen. But the screen is VERY helpful imo. I don’t have to look up at my monitor ever. @@felipedemariscalone Outside of them both having keyboards they are different devices and more importantly, they are meant to work better with specific apps (Native Instruments and Ableton). The size of the Launchkey (being smaller than the MPK2) I didn't like at all. Lack of transport buttons. I didn't work for me. If I were more of an Ableton user it may have. The M32 integrates better with more Daws, it has the transport controls, and it's size is a plus.

    Yeah I am also disappointed that it couldn’t fit in a standard backpack. But it does work in a weekend/overnight travel bag like you said. Secondly, for the 50+ eyes like mine, need readers along with the bifocals to read the display😂.

    In regards to the keybed, how would you say it compares to the Novation LaunchKey Mini MK3? I've got the LaunchKey and I like the functionality but the keys just feel flimsy and spongy. I know they won't be incredible on a scaled down controller but what are your thoughts been the two? The extra keys and already being engrained in the NI Ecosystem is a big draw.
    Also, are the keys slightly larger than on the LaunchKey? I watched your comparison video and I can't quite tell

    I’ve heard a couple things “wrong” with this keyboard. Apparently you can’t assign MIDI CCs and also that the velocity curve is super low. I read that you need to press super hard to get a high velocity on it but still never reaches the max 127. Is this true? False?

    • @Johnmike
      @Johnmike  Před 3 lety

      You can edit the midi cc in the Komplete Kontrol software...and can’t remember every having velocity issues with it personally...

      I just want to say that I've been really looking forward to buying this controller as my first one (because I'm a beginner), but after I heard about the fixed CCs, it kinda took away my optimism about buying it.
      I still haven't bought any midi controller and can't decide between this one (as I heard it has the best keys among all small sized midis and half octave more is a plus for me), Arturia Minilab Mk2 (really good package, but I kinda really like to have the arpegiator option) and the Novation Launchkey Mk3 (which came out recently and judging by the features it has it's the best midi especially for Ableton. Sadly, it may not come so fast to my local store because I live in Macedonia)

    Hello
    I don’t like downloading software if I don’t have to so my question is do I have to download included software, if any, to be able to use it with GarageBand?
    I would only be using it to play virtual instruments.
