I dont practice everyday like I was all excited to at first but a John Mike tribute video is most definitely in order… i have made music on my phone and picked up the keys as a therapeutical outlet because of JohnMike!!!

I have since learned how to use AUM with the standard GospelMusican apps from Jamal and other JOhnMike recommendations. It is really great!

The only down for me favorite the M32 is the lack of pads, but hey it's a great steal!

It’s the same Keybed in the plus that’s in the regular mpk…so my feelings are still the same on both..
Still undecided whether I want to get the mpk for the M32 by this review helped out man. I got a maschine Mk 3 and work mostly in the maschine daw. Do you think the M32 would be a better choice just cuz it's probably better integrated into the system?
Yes it integrates well with maschine
MK3 doesn't have NKS, M32 does
Now that the M Audio Oxygen Pro Mini 32 is out for about a year, which do you think offers more bang for the buck?

The Akai MK3 can't control the DAW? Can you elaborate on that. So do you load samples onto the drum pads/keys through the DAW and record the notes you play into the DAW and that's it? I can't program any of the AKAI knobs to a knob in the DAW? I thought using a MIDI Controller to control DAW was one of the main functions of using a MIDI Controller.

m32 is not really avaailable, on back order on all sites. Should I get the mpk mini mk3? Looking to replace my LPK25. I already have a Push2 and MPK261. This will just sit on top of my desk next to my Push2. Thanks!
Yea the MPK will be a definite upgrade from the lpk

@@julsedt As a musician for over 40 years, I am telling you, anything that hampers your ability to move freely around your instrument, is a bad thing. Makes no difference if it's a guitar, bass, keyboard, piano, violin, or oboe.
JM does the MK3 cover the entire note number spectrum of C-2 -G8? If not that's a deal breaker 4 me...

Do drum pads really matter? I want to buy my first keyboard and don’t know if I want drum pads. I want to make hiphop beats so is it then a essential?
Not essential...but I would say they are “helpful”

You can optimize the AKAI mpk mini to use the Komplete Kontrol software right?
No you actually can’t...but you can play the sounds with it...just not control the software directly

Komplete Kontrol uses NKS, AKAI doesn't.

No I don’t and it’s not possible because of the way NI setup their software...you can play the keys but can’t use the pads like you would on maschine

Yes
61 keys is as low as I go... and then only under duress.
M32 or newer a series 25 or 49key.
Depends on your budget...if you’ve got the budget then I would go with the a series for full sized keys...but the m32 is still a great little board
What about the new Novation MK3 as well? Akai or Novation?

M32 wins because it has 32 keys AND NKS. How is this even a comparison?
I don't have giant hands, but their not small neither. Anything less than 32 is just a hassle to play.

Dear John, here is my civil and polite proposition: Why don’t you just take a decent photo of the 2 keyboards side by side followed by closeups of the components you refer to and then do the scripted voice over, instead of dancing your hands around and talk simultaneously giving a completely verbal explanation with less than perfect articulacy? Then when it comes to knobs and moving parts, start shooting video with an improved lighting? Vlogging 101: You have to put yourself in the viewers shoes, not get over focused in your own presenter world. Watch this video of yours and see you’ll see what I’m referring to.
