"Because I can, I must!" Love it...Eric, I too did my first Ironman in PCB 2023! I am 55, and always wanted to do one. Like you, I ran 6 marathons in my life, never rode a road bike, and I had no idea how to swim (front crawl)! I had a couple beers back in Dec of 2022, signed up, and sent my $823 over to Ironman (my dollar amount may be off by a few dollars). Now I was committed, so that forced me to train. It was a total blast, and after 15h, 59m, and 49s, I too became an Ironman! I feel like I left A LOT of time on the table because of the unknown, SO, I am going back again Nov. 2nd to hopefully go a little faster! Congrats to you....Cheers
This is awesome! You’re going to crush it having that experience under your belt. I’ll definitely do PCB again in the future what a great location for the race. With my travel schedule this year it’ll be too difficult for me to fit the full swim and bike training in so I opted for an Ultra marathon (UTMR) in Switzerland 😂 Good luck with the training!!
