I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a video before, but I feel compelled to say that I think you have a unique style and perspective that is differentiated from all the other woodworking content on CZcams. And it’s really wonderful. I watch a ton of woodworking content on here, and I look forward to your videos the most. hope you keep making more.
I was about to comment the same thing. Never have I been so compelled to let a creator know how inspirational their video was. From the craftsmanship of the piece, to the candor in the interviews, to the pacing of the video. Everything in this was absolutely wonderful and I wish you the best of luck brother.
Totally agreed on your comment
Dude, I watched this morning while eating my breakfast sandwich. 19 minutes later I looked down and I was still holding my sandwich albeit a little bit cold. All that to say your video had me captivated the whole time. You are so eloquent with your words. Your idea about time being given instead of taken struck a chord. Thank you for that! Can’t wait to see the next one Ari!
Wow that thought about time giving instead of taking... really hit home. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Man, I have been dying for a new video, but if this is what a wait gives.. my lord was it worth it. This is fucking stunning dude.
This is one of the best CZcams videos I have ever watched. Better than a Netflix documentary. Bravo
Beautifully crafted, and beautifully documented. This was truly a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
Best episode of anything I have seen on CZcams for a while! That is a mooi cabinet.
As a professional woodworker in Spain for many years. This video was one of the best ones I've seen. The storytelling and the job were amazing. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us.
Thoughtful and well executed! Your approach to making and focus on storytellings is always inspiring!
You're a legend. Beautifully crafted through and through.
Your videos are always a treat when they pop in my feed. Great craftsmanship, from the woodworking, to the story-telling and the editing. Amazing!
Wow. Just. Wow. Amazing job dude. Amazed by the ability not just to do woodworking but to also be able to showcase the perfect process
Man I get that same antsy feeling like Im ready for the next project too. Ive been trying to slow down and enjoy the process cos thats what it really is about. Great work and video 👍🏻
Wonderful video. I truly appreciate yout thoughtfulness and sincerity alnog with the gorgeous woodwork. Well done and thank you.
Wonderful reveal at the end.
Beautiful work and excellent presentation!
Love this style. Nice camera work
An incredible result. Beautifully made, with superb details and looks fantastic. A great job my good man.
Not only do I think your videos are always incredible and well thought out, I also think this piece is perfect. As always, good work.
This was my first video of yours, and I am a big fan. I like the philosophy mixed with the work and relate to the mental battle with patience through the hand tool work.
Well met sir.
Amazing work. Congratulations 👏🏻
Lovely theme and piece, congratulations 🎉
what a perfect piece what a perfect video
This cabinet is absolutely fabulous! Well done you! 👏
Ah I love your videos. They're so well made and satisfying to watch!
Stunning piece and video!
Amazing work, amazing narration. Thank you
Amazing build, my man. It paid off.
Beautiful!
Beautiful work and video.
Bravo! Encore! Couldn’t think of a better way to say thank you. This was awesome.
This is gorgeous! I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're a fantastic creator and I really enjoy watching you just create. Exquisite craftsmanship on both the video and cabinet. I agree with you on things taking the time that it takes to complete a project to really make the product/piece you want to make. You can't rush things, slow is fast, trust the process.
Really nice and great message you put out in the end 🤙
Also that cabinet is freakin' beautiful. Well done.
Wow!!! I loved this video!! The cabinet is stunning. Great works take time.
bloody brilliant
Love it! Very inspiring.
Very nice work. Clean and simple in appearance, but not simple to make. Well done.
Awesome work man. Came out beautiful.
Beautiful cabinet, video and message. All so well done and clearly you were able to achieve what you set out to do on all parts of the final result.
I look so forward to your videos! I love how you share a story in the process of showcasing beautiful work- your video style is very entertaining- thanks for sharing these
Thank you for giving the time to create this video, stunning!
YOU WENT ABSOLUTELY NUTS! Great work!
Beautiful video and build!
This build and video format is unique. I am here for more. Thank you
Great video and piece. Well done. The project was on brand - slow workshop. Keep it up ❤
The cabinet is a bit of a Michael Pekovich piece, designwise, but you will surely develop your own style. Besides, the filming and the storytelling is great. I enjoyed watching your video. Thank you!
This is such a gorgeous video mate, all comments echoing the same thing and I hope you’re taking in all the love we’ve got for you sharing this with us, fucking excellent work all round
This was so good! You've got a great perspective on "Time"
Thank you for sharing!
You achieved your goal. The finished piece is wonderful. I did notice the piston fit drawers. If you can build drawers to that level of precision you are off to a fine start. Satisfactory.
Beautiful cabinet and thx for the wonderful insights into the mind of an indeed very lucky man! Earned a sub
What an inspiring video 👏
I made my youngest daughter's bassinet from Ash. Like you, I like the natural color of ash. I found that the Osmo Polyx Effect does not change the color of the wood at all, and three years later, it has minimal yellowing.
Dope! The ending about time really hit home. Well said!
Wow. What a beautiful piece, process, video and message. Time investment to master something. A wonderfully present perspective. Thanks for sharing this and your work with us all.
You make excellent content.
beautiful, inspiring work. loved watching the process unfold.
narration, music, and editing are on point as usual
Thank you for reminding me about the value of time given.
An artist.
Hells to the yeah. Tell Eric and Ricky I said hi. Awesome work.
Incredible. Inspiring. Loved the cinematography and the narrative. Top notch amigo!
You’re time was well spent on this video
impressive
I’d love it if you described the bleaching process 🙏
Its not too late to also just go to the krenov school. Since you live in CA its surprisingly affordable. (although you do have to go live in fort brag for a year or two ). As someone who went there i think it would provide a unique opportunity to hone your own personal style as you improve your skills)
Wonderful piece and video! I've taken a couple two week classes at "center for furniture craftsmanship" here in Maine. I would highly recommend taking a trip out for one of those! Get Erik to pay. ;) And if it ever happens, swing by my shop!
Many people do much less with a year. Congratulations.
Someone will share their time with you for the pursuit of mastery.
You don’t need schooling or mentorship, you’re there. Time is a commodity…that’s what you have to hone my friend.
Beautiful james krenov inspired cabinet! (Look him up if you never seen this master’s work)
Hi Ricky!
Hey! Loved this video and amazing work on the cabinet. I noticed you and a lot of your coworkers are wearing airpods in the shop. I wear airpods in my shop also and have heard a lot of mixed opinions on if they really help with ear protection from shop noises (tools, dust collection, etc). Any thoughts on if they're enough? Any of your mentors have opinions or facts on that? Thanks and keep up the great content.
Great work! 👏🏼 Did you use bleach or a wood bleaching product?
Wow
May I ask what is your process for bleaching the ash ?
Wait, is that Cam (teacher at LA Woodshop) in the background?
Just out of curiosity, how much of the time spent would you say was planning/thinking/hesitating/contemplating etc.? I remember in my school years (to become a furniture maker) I had such a hard time getting to the making because of a fear of making a bad choice, leading to projects easily taking 5 times as long as they could have.
wowowowowowowow wow
I normally cringe at the sight of a nearly 20-minute video. At the end of this one, I was disappointed that it wasn't longer.
How many of your mentors went to CR?
Its a nice cabinet. I think the proportions are off slightly.
The doors seem too thick for the cabinets length.
Your craftsman’s ship is very good.
