    I could be wrong but to me this was the best Canada hockey ever assemble. the quality of the players in that team is giving me goose bumps. I wish we could turn back time......

      I like how one of the announcers said Canada was worried about their defence??? ORR, POTVIN, ROBINSON, SAVARD, AND LAPOINTE??? Yeah, pretty mediocre.

      I agree that any team including the ‘87 Canada Cup team with Lemeiux and Gretzky would be hard pressed to beat this team! Just look at how many Stanley Cup champions were on this team from Hull, Esposito, Orr, Clarke, Leach, Barber, Shutt, Mahovlich, Lafleur, etc! Plus the other stars of the day! This was the deepest team that Canada ever had!

    Was at this game , my mum knew Bobby Hull and grew up with him 5 doors down , mum called him at the Sutton place Hotel , he called right back he asked if l had a ticket for this game l said no that sat afternoon , Bobby said have your father drive you to the front dest of the Sutton Place and there will be 2 tickets for you an hour before game time , my father brought me down went to the game , Hull was awesome , Thanks Mum and Bobby , l was 12....True story

      @@billyrock8305 Yes his CAREER was tragically short due to many knee injuries he wasn't very durable. However I'm just talking about this tournament, in which he was the best player for Canada and the best player in the tournament. And I agree with you on his supporting a dismal politician/reality TV star. WTH was he thinking? However his questionable political views made much later in life have nothing to do with that tournament nor this video.

      @@billr6983 Good points Bill. I for one would lean more to Hull, Lafleur or Potvin. Orr was in everyone’s heart as they know his days were numbered.
      Burned my signed Orr jersey when that traitorous POS tried to end our democracy and freedom. He’s a low life pure piece garbage now.

      Yes it was his last Hurrah, he was like 27 yrs old. We hockey fans lost out on so Much with Bobby's knees. He could have played into the 90s with his skating ability. Could have played well into the Gretzky Lemieux era. Imagine Bobby Orr on the 87 Canada cup team with Lemieux and Gretzky. He would have been 37. We lost out on so much

    I second Fenton, these games are historical documents - so much rode on these at the height of the Cold War - it was a "big" thing in Canada back them, it brought the country together. Thank you for posting and please, keep on the great work, Ciao, L

      yes very true ORR was part of the greatest defense ever assembled on team Canada Orr Potvin Savard Lapoint Robinson and J.Watson though Watson was injured early in the series....and Brad Park was injured so he could nt play.

    Thanks for posting these. Has anyone noticed how Bernie Pascal often says 'Czechlosovakia'? Note the spelling - it's not the same as the real name of the country. This is almost as annoying/embarrassing as Foster Hewitt's continued troubles in trying to say the name of Vladislav 'Tetriak' during the original Summit Series.

    What I’d like to know is why Larry Robinson wore number 23 in this tournament and Bob Gainey wore number 34 for Canada, and nobody seemed to be wearing number 19 on that team?

    on paper the most talented Team Canada ever, with Orr and Hull the two who aren't playing at their prime, imagine if they were. Most other guys from Dionne to Lafleur, Clarke, Leach, Barber, Perreault, all these guys at their peak.the 1987 Canada Cup team was better than this team but not if Orr and Hull were in their prime in this tournament.

    These tourny's were always in September when team Canada were just off summer break.They're thrown together for two weeks then set loose.If this Team Canada had six months together nobody would touch them.Same as ALL Team Canadas!!

    why wasnt ken dryden playing does anyone know? i dont really think he was that terrific of a goalie, i think u put almost anyone in net on that canadiens team and they would have put up gawdy numbers. still surprising. he must not have felt like it lol

    If Bobby Orr had such bad knee then how could he be MVP?
    It looked as though he had a groin problem, not a bad knee.
    Where is the evidence he has a bad knee?
    He plays fine here then a year later he can't play at all? This makes no sense.
    The whole thing is a fraud.

      His knee was shot. IMHO was MVP because he was a legend. I watched the series and he wasn't close to what he once was. Reminded me of an old Ali, relying on guile and ringsmanship.
