    I fixed my Polaris POS! I took the unit out of the pool and blasted the pos three times with a 12 gauge shotgun. It no longer drives me crazy.

    Nice video if your problem is in fact the backup valve. My "not moving" case was different. No movement of the Polaris turned out to be a blown Pressure Relief Valve at the wall. End cap had blown off and ALL the water pressure was escaping through that open ended Pressure Relief Valve.

    You mention range between 28-32 PSI needed for proper pressure. Polaris manual references 28-32 RLM (revolutions per minute) for the proper wheel speed as well.

    My Polaris 280 is dipping down at approximately a 15 degree angle so that the wheels are not touching the bottom of the pool allowing the 280 to function as it should. Much of the time the 280 does not reach the bottom even to the 15 degree angle. How can I correct what is occurring?

    Is there a fix for the current backup valve continuously shooting water or is replacing it the only option?

  • @jeffgoss4981
    @jeffgoss4981 Před 2 lety +1

    Thanks for the video, very useful. I was wondering if the reverse valve was supposed to have some water coming out when it’s cleaning, or going forward. It does clean the pool and it does move forward but it sometimes gets stuck when a float hits the hose in a certain way. It appears to me that although it’s working, it’s just not optimal. I’m suspicious of the reverse valve because It does have a stream of water when it should be completely shut off.

    • @craigwooster6646
      @craigwooster6646  Před 2 lety

      The water coming out of the backup valve should completely shut off when the cleaner is moving forward. When in backup mode, all the water should be on the reverse jet. This is a very common problem and very easily fixed by replacing the backup valve

    If you were not getting good pressure to the pool side Polaris connection it would be lethargic as well. That’s my problem, and can’t seem to figure out why. Booster is running pool pump works fine, but very minimal pressure at the poolside connection.

    • @atkinshockey
      @atkinshockey Před 3 lety +2

      It may be the impeller in the booster pump. Pump runs but not pushing enough water to the pool. That was my issue. There are 2 impellers that look almost alike for the pumps. The newer pump impellers are sold out almost everywhere

    Hi, I am writing to see if you can give me some advice, I would really appreciate since I am going crazy with this thing. I replaced the wall connector with a new one because i accidentaly broke the old one while unscrewing. It worked fine for a few days, but then a lot of water was being sprayed out of the pool through the preassure release valve (the black round thing) next to the wall. I tried to unscrew this valve but it is impossible, it seems glued! So I put the blue restrictor disk and water stopped coming out, but the robot goes very slowly and barely cleans. Now I can not even unescrew anything because I screwed it too hard... But even if I arrived to remove everything, i don't know what to do, it seems impossible to make it work fine and I have no idea what to do, do you have any ideas? Thank you!!

    • @billburkhalter411
      @billburkhalter411 Před 2 lety

      Make sure that the first length of tubing attached to the cleaner is around 36" max and then the back-up valve followed by 1 float. When the back-up valve is engaged the first float will assist in picking up the cleaner off the bottom so it can pull it farther.

    As far as the cleaner itself goes, I do like it a lot. However, the overall design of the product is faulty. Don’t buy this thing. Again, the vacuum is great, but you have to use their twist lock hose system that hose system comes undone all the time. It pops out of my side port. it pops off of the debris basket. Now let’s talk about the debris basket. It has a “special“ drain system, so that the water drains out of it and it’s less heavy when you pull it out of the pool. That drain is literally an open drain in the bottom of it. Well, it floats on the surface of the pool. As soon as the hose goes in the wrong direction, the basket starts floating upside down and the drain starts pulling air. I can’t tell you how many times I have lost prime because of this pathetic design. You cannot trust the thing if you leave your home because you could end up running your pump dry. Just three days ago. I was standing there, talking to my wife and all of the water features quit. Looked over at the debris basket and guess what? It was upside down sucking air and I lost my prime. As I write this message I am looking at it, and the thing has turned sideways in the last 20 minutes. So the question is how long until it turns upside down and I lose prime again? Again, great vacuum, but overall on a five star rating scale I give it one star because the entire product system sucks.
