      Thank you so much, brother! I'm so close I can almost see the finish line. 2 small cannons and Edward IV command base to do and I'm finished!
      Will be taking these to hopefully convert my fellow gamers to historical.
      Big thank you to you for your videos, I have them on in the background whilst painting 🤟

    Very impressed with your results, particularly as you haven't painted in a fair while. Wars of the Roses is a great period and there are a number of rule sets out there. Hail Cesear will give you a good game - that certainly is 7th Sons experience. However I don t know if you saw his video on Test of Resolve? Your basing would work well for those as well and they are period specific so hopefully give a better feel for the warfare of the period. I must declare an interest here as I am one of the authors. Happy Wars of the Roses wargaming whichever rules you use!

      Thank you for the encouragement, means a lot!
      I've just gone and watched his review of your rules, I really like the look of them, the use of cards to change the battle flow looks ace. I especially like that you've captured WotR warfare in the rules (Hail Caeser I think is very much lacking with no real WotR supplement). I will make sure to try it out at my local when my retinue is done 🤘

    I know this is a year behind and I have just found your site. I am looking at doing the War of the Roses but a tip I picked up a few years ago is that I spray my standards, flags etc with a matt varnish after experiencing smudging. never had a problem since.... so far!

      I've been such an idiot by not using matte varnish , I use it to seal all of my finished minis nowadays.

    Great progress, I agree that 8 models is a sweet spot for painting. When you come to do the Perry command base on the round base, you may want to swap out the lead banner poles that come in the Perry metals box with something that is less prone to bending. A pike from the mercenaries box would be ideal or some thin brass rod or some such.

    I noticed that the finished figures have a dull/shine finish to them. Do you varnish as a last step? I have been painting ACW and it gets a bit boring after a bit. These look fun and might be a nice break from my current project! They look great!

      Actually this was a recurring problem I had with a batch of GW wash, it had an INSANE shine to it. I’ve since stopped using it and wrote it off as a bad batch.
      Perrys WotR minis are great! It’s also a time period where shields stopped being used so no faffing around with livery 😂 highly recommend

    • @bloodsalt
      @bloodsalt  Před 2 lety

      Thanks man.
      So the armour is grey GW contrast paint but once that is dry I've dry brushed some silvers and other steel looking metal paints on them :) if you have more than one metallic paint then do them in batches so you'll get slight variations of armour tint!

      Nah man, surely not! The trick is they always look trash when done individually, but honestly you slap them on a base with some tufts, they sort of 'get lost' in the group so that together they look good
