5:52 I loved the Banana Splits and a few years ago now I came across all four very well made 'teddies' and they are about 1 & 1/2 ft tall, they are currently sitting in the wheelhouse on my boat looking out across the canal and they do get noticed, just got to find my Wombles stashed in my sea container next I guess 🤣

Moira Stewart was fantastic and I remember Keith Chegwin being zapped. The currency was the backwards spelling of dragon.
As for Dick Turpin,Richard O'Sullivan went from Cliff Richard and Carry On films to Man About the House to Dick Turpin.

Sapphire and Steel was such a groundbreaking show which I loved
Always wanted my hair to look like Joanna’s
Hazell -with Nichola ball co written by Terry V
Rock Follies - do not remember this show but Julie Covington went on to sing Don’t Cry For Me Argentina in the show on stage I think
    The Cedar Tree was great
Many actors went on to bigger and better
Raffles with Anthony Valentine - I remember watching. He died too young
T J Hooker - not keen on this series but remember Heather in it
The others were not British, I was too young at the time

Although “Budgie” had a London feel about it, Scotsman Ian Cuthbertson was his nemesis, as Charles Endell Esq. Apart from the eponymous spin-off, “Supergran” would use IC’s stature and gravitas to terrorise those of a younger generation.

Great fun, thanks for the memories.... even those I'd forgotten!

I forgot to keep score because I was too excited remembering all the programmes as they came up but I reckon I got over 20. A couple of years ago I watched the whole two series of Budgie on yesterday tv channel. I’d been too young to appreciate it first time round but I loved watching it. I also found myself watching the entire series of Family at War too. First time round I hated it when it was on as I thought it was for old fuddy duddys but I throughly enjoyed it second time round 😂

Didn't know 10 at all. 9 starred Cornelia Frances as Sister Scott, a real battleaxe. She later went on to host the Australian version of Weakest Link using a similar persona. 16. The BBC showed this but cut it to shreds to fit 60 minutes into 25. 19 & 20. Two more I didn't know. 24. Loved this so much. Starred Dennis Quilley. Spencer Banks, the boy, later surfaced in Crossroads. 28. My dad had a crush on Heather Locklear. I used to laugh at Shatner's wobbly wig. 30. Repeated on Talking Pictures TV. Very dated now but Iain Cuthbertson was excellent. So I scored 27/30 which isn't too shabby. Another great quiz. Thank you. 😊👍

I prefer to think that the T and J stand for Tiberius and James, because James Tiberius Kirk! 😁 I almost got Sapphire and Steel but drooped the ball at the last second, and the Japanese show I thought was Monkey, so right country, wrong show. Sapphire and Steele can be found on CZcams, am working my way through it at the moment when I have spare time.
AnI've just foundDickTurpin as well and all episodes of Arthur of the Britons are also on CZcams as is at least one of Hazell. At least some of Raffles can alo be found. While I can't find the Japanese version of the Water Margin I can find the Chinese version on CZcams (it is based on an old Chinese story) and will look at that tomorrow when I have more time (it's late on Sunday and past my bedtime, I stayed up to watch this which has only just appeared in my CZcams feed). The Flashing Blade also has some episodes on CZcams as well while I can only find the theme music of Freewheelers
I remember mum watching Rock Follies but it wasn't my cup of tea, I also remember Young Doctors. Started around about 1977/78 and aired at 6.00 on South Pacific TV in NZ. We would watch while we had pudding, from memory it was a good series.
Bless me Father is another one on CZcams and I now need many more hours in the day just to investigate the various shows you highlight.
I knew some, but growing up in NZ many of these simply didn't get broadcast on the telly there (not helped by only getting a telly in 1977). One you never mention is the series The Brothers, I know that was broadcast as my neighbour was a huge fan I saw a number of episodes from it as a result.
Brilliant video as always, and now I'm off to bed.

Was The Water Margin about a bunch of captured ghosts/spirits that are released from a box at the very beginning of the series, they end up in/as people (martial artists?) slowly gathered together over the episodes to (I presume) take down the evil bad-guy who had captured them in the first place?
if not, does anyone know what the one I'm remembering was?

    • @stuviewtv
      @stuviewtv  Před 2 měsíci +1

I don't think they were spirits initially in The Water Margin if I remember correctly. They were a group of outlaws who came together over the course of the series. Mind you, it's been so long since I've seen it I could well be wrong!

Hi, Stu. I got a bit of a quiz for you. Be aware that I can only give you minimal info, here. REALLY minimal. ( By the way, I don't know the answer. I'm hoping youm or one of the Stuvies wiil). Here goes.
It was early to mid sixties.
    Science fiction.
    Series.
    Black and white.
What I remember: 4 ( I think) people sitting in a space ship ready to launch. I think it was the kind of ship that went on missions. The captain would say something, maybe 'ENGINES' and a high-pitched female voice would say 'CHECK'. They'd go through a few systems with the high-pitched 'CHECK' and then blast off.
Well, thats it guys. If anybody has the answer I'd be very grateful. Don't want my first question in Heaven to be 'Hey, Lord. There was this scfi prog back in the sixties...'
