In this week’s woodworking build we’re making a Magic Magnetic Light. Also known as and inspired by a Heng Balance Light, these lights are controlled by a micro snap switch. I used a live edge piece of maple for the bottom and walnut for the frame. I am just Floored by how it came out. I really can’t wait to see what you create! Let me know what you’d like to see next. Thanks for watching! Please like, comment and subscribe. Cheers!

Glad to meet another fly fishing fanatic like me. I to like Rio but switched over to Trout Hunter as they sponsor our fly fishing team which placed first last year in the Southeast. If you’re ever in NC, look me up and we will wet a line together. There are many spectacular trout streams in the NC mountains including wild rainbows, browns and brookies. BTW, love your videos as I dip my toes into woodworking.

Awesome video as always. Random tip for the LED strips:
If you want an even strip of light without the dots shining through, the neighboring LED dots should form an equilateral triangle with the diffuser / plexiglass in terms of distance. So to get the right height between the diffuser you simply calculate the following:
Distance between each LED dot * 0,5 * square root of 3.
In example of an LED strip with each dot being 1 inch apart thats: 1 * 0,5 * square root of 3 = 0.86602540378 inches.
Keep in mind that this only works with LED strips that have evenly spaced lights though.
Got that tip from an old exhibit builder, when we set up a booth at a light fair.

Or use lenticular diffuser film which diffuses light in one direction, can be much closer and does not reduce light as much as regular diffuser.

Everyone shows themselves wiping away the wood glue, so I have a basic question: do you purely wipe it away, or do you put something like mineral spirits/alcohol on the cloth/paper towel first and then wipe? There's always way more "wet" looking wood around glue areas when I see this in videos which is why I ask.
