    *_The price of entry for premium amp modeling has been way out of reach for most people that have wanted it. ToneX got it right by stripping all the excess stuff most people don’t care about and just focused on the amps. It was a paradigm shift in the guitar world when it released._*

    Been saying this since the second the One came out. It’s the best sounding, smallest, and most affordable option. I knew it’d take over, and rightly so!

    Maybe Strymonn and UA were wrong when they thought that people want SIMPLE. Maybe only some people want simple, but maybe MORE people want FLEXIBLE.

    it’s been a year since I got the Tonex and I am not looking back for the next while. Helix sounds good in the mix but I could not get the feel as I did with Tonex. Had used Kemper as well, it was good but it was the church’s and I really didn’t get a chance to tweak it to my liking. Amazing time to be alive!

    Tonex has been great to bring profiling to the masses, but what has always turned me off about it is that unless you have your own amp collection you are reliant on other people to hopefully create the sound that works with the rest of your rig. This is why I prefer modellers. Are profilers more accurate? Probably but that doesn’t matter if I can dial in the sound that suits my guitars and my picking style and sounds and feels good . I think this is one of the reasons the Boss IR2 has been so successful. Same price as Tonex One and pretty much covers all bases you need.

  • @jackprice7828
    @jackprice7828 Před 10 dny +2

    Great discussion! Its obvious the capture tech is where tone is going. Line 6 and many others do effects all over the place. But ToneX opened up a whole new world of tone capabilities for the amp.

  • @jlindsay0709
    @jlindsay0709 Před 10 dny +2

    Honestly I use like 3 captures. I have the large ToneX model and honestly wish I had the ToneX One because I don't do any captures. Having extra knobs is nice but I run reverbs, delays, and other effects into it. So I don't actually need the built in reverbs. Also if you are a bedroom player like I am I just run that into my computer or Ableton Push 3 and just use those reverbs and delays.

  • @JDStone20
    @JDStone20 Před 5 dny +1

    I hold off on getting a ToneX One until I can find one used. The Boss IR-2 is supposed to be a good device also, and it is in the price range of the ToneX One. I might just get them both if I can find them used at a decent price.

  • @daveanderson5136
    @daveanderson5136 Před 10 dny +2

    Getting the new ToneX-One and the everything pack was a no brainer. The price of the pedal and the pack was still WAY less than any other good quality modeling product.

    I like these kind of discussions, I learn so much from them.
    The fact that you can share almost everything software related regarding the ToneX may have put it on such a high spot, I agree with you. What I have missed in this conversation is the fact that IK Multimedia is a software based company that has started to make hardware at some point. So they have a very stable software platform.
    I have the original ToneX, line 6 and the Fractal FM9. Of all 3, I still like the software of the FM9 the most (maybe due to the fact that I use the FM9 the most). The line 6 software is very user friendly. In the beginning, I had a lot of issue with the Tone X software regarding connectivity. I had contact support several time to solve the issue. Now it is more stable.
    To conclude, they are great guitar processors. The fact that you can buy presets, IR;'s etc make them even greater. My number one board is stil the FM9. I'm so grateful that TJ offers stuff for Fractal too now. I have already bought the whole package (for Tone X too).

    Great for ToneJunkie as a business, your revenue is going through the roof. For me though, I will always prefer my kemper to tonex, not because it sounds "more accurate", I agree that actually the TONEX sounds more accurate. But I actually prefer the kemper sound and feel and all the toneshaping features kemper gives you are invaluable(like direct blend and cab hi shift and so on). I feel like it's still a category of one.

    I'm looking at the prices of tonex packs, $30, for one tone, makes it kind of a gamble. I mean if I was guaranteed to buy one or maybe two packs and be happy, but it seems like a more expensive IR exercise

    • @ToneJunkieTV
      @ToneJunkieTV  Před 10 dny +1

      Everything Pack is $99 (Which is why it's so popular) also the 30% off code makes the packs $20 or so. Packs usually have multiple speaker and mic options, amps have more than one tone so it's not really one tone you're buying. It's a representation of the whole amp.
      You really don't need to buy anything though. There are tones of free captures on Tone.net that we offer and there is a free 65 Deluxe, AC30 and Badcat C15 at the bottom of the ToneX section so spending money is really optional and just for people who want to try more stuff out.
