We need a video on the man cave and how you like that TM-0P and what the capabilities are with that. 😁

I love this and watched every second. I'm 20 years your senior but the experience is the same. I retired in 2010 but invented a billion dollar machine four years ago that I'm now building a business around. Nothing is CNC but we have one complex part where we need it. I'll include a link to the business if CZcams allows me.

Millennial hipster here, making aerospace/medical/motorsports/defense parts on my machining centers in my garage. Keep it up man, I don't think manufacturing is going anywhere or declining in the US, no matter what all the negative old fox news viewers think about whatever generations come after them.

This is the first time watching; Very interesting. I’m a jeweler/silversmith. I’ve been making jewelry for 55 years. This year I’ve purchased a Pulse Tig welder and a Galvo laser and 3D printer. I’d love to have a micro 3D mill. I’d love to make tooling for the jewelry industry but There’s not enough time in a day to learn what I need to.

You touched on a lot of the toxicity in the world of manufacturing as well as society more broadly but that stuff has always been there and it’s always going to be. What negativity you allow into your life, the same way you let bad food into your diet, is going to influence your outlook.
The silver lining in all of this is the tremendous opportunity in front of all of the small time guys grinding it out in their garage who have all chosen to make this leap into manufacturing. The need for skill in this trade is never gonna go away even with AI, and all of the older guys with experience are inevitably going to retire with not a whole lot of younger guys stepping in to take their place. Even the most rootless corporate guys can’t outsource 100% of everything. So there’s room for someone with the grit and a passion for the craft to find their way and stand in that gap.

I watched just the end of this when you were discussing “real” tolerances versus CZcams obsession and different machines. My question I did not get the chance to ask is , would you consider a product from DATRON? It is an odd duck, but set up interface, meets realistic tolerances , allows for multiple part runs, unique holding, amazing surface finishes…. You seem to do unique short runs and parts a lot, and those that have those machines claim they are time savors. If so , thoughts? IF not what are your concerns? BTW, your content is above and beyond , great job!

I have seen 2 people buy Datrons solely to do plate parts from Xometry extremely fast using the Vacucard system. Plate parts are notoriously difficult to make on a traditional VMC especially when there are lots of through holes requiring a custom vacuum chuck or using super glue to hold the part.
A Datron is more expensive than a Haas VM3 so it's hard to justify unless you can find a niche like those plate parts. And companies like Facebook buy them so their engineers can prototype with the easy-to-use control.

Man that TM-0P looks nice in the home garage. I really wish they had them back in 2020.

If you can't speak freely, free speech is dead. If free speech is dead, The Constitution has been assaulted. If The Constitution is being violated or altered in favor of LESS freedom, vote for those who aren't trying to censor, normalize destructive behaviors, harm children or obliterate the economic landscape of our nation. Above all, put your trust in that which is eternal, and in love and positivity with your family and those in your life.

Mazak has been a Mitsubishi control house forever. That said, they write their own Mazatrol app over the underlying control.

OMG..... I just hit play and was listening while changing set ups... and then I was like... uh wait... hes talking about me! haha
    100% well said!
you cant crash your machine if the spindle doesnt reach the part!!! :P
the real issue is the slap lawsuits that companies use to try to silence people like me who try to show their experiences. Mazak tried so hard to keep me from sharing what I thought that they really pissed me off and the video just came out so much meaner than a regular review! then when you are researching your next purchase the only thing you can find is official company literature.
