      I just watched the video and was going to say just that! Good to know that I'm not the only one that thinks this way. I don't have a Martin, I ended up going with a Taylor...though I've had it for over a decade, the smell is magical!!!

    Ok, mind blown... worlds colliding. I've been watching your stuff for awhile now for the pipe stuff, as it's a new hobby of mine. I had no idea you were into guitars as well. I have the same guitar, one size up (D-15), and I'm sure you're going to love the guitar.
    One tip, though less of a concern for you in Washington, is to stay on top of the humidity control with these guitars, especially in the winter. They have very thin tops, and are prone to serious "bellying" (among other issues) if you neglect them. Amazing sounding guitars, but you do need to treat them with care.
    Enjoy!

    Hi, Bradley! I own a 000-15M since 2012, I still find myself starring at it sometimes, amazed with it's beauty. You made a great purchase. I found a little odd it came with a Fishman too but, well, if you don't like it you can always sell it. I tried one of those K&K pure mini you mentioned but wasn't happy with it. There's too much mid range. Than, I tried the LR Baggs lyric but didn't work either, too much feedback noise. Finally, i switched to the LR Baggs Anthem and couldn't be happier. It's pricey, I know, but this guitar deserves it.

    Awesome guitar my friend! Great choice! I just purchased my 3rd Martin two weeks ago (GPC Special 10E) road series. More or less, one of Martin's cheaper lines. You will love that 000! I have a custom shop 000 18 (sinker mahogany with Adirondack spruce top). Just a beautiful looking and sounding guitar. Martin's are the best! Funny thing with my new Martin, the exact same thing happened to me. High E broke while tuning it for the first time. The ball came off the end of the string. Super annoying...lol I restrung it with elixirs. They make really great strings. Enjoy your new baby and keep on rocking 🎸 🤘

    I used to have a 'Nashville' jumbo guitar (a Japanese 'lawsuit' era copy of a Guild F40 or 55, not sure which) and that had the exact problem you had with strings breaking when I tried tuning it. I was mystified that strings would break when I tuned them down as well as up. It turned out it had a burr on the tuning post and I had to take it into the guitar shop to have it shaved down. Surprised a new Martin would come with that defect though.

    @stevekatzchen6845 Před 4 lety +1

    Congrats on that great guitar, Bradley! When a high e-string breaks this way a burr at the tuning post may be the culprit...so just try to deflash it and give the string an extra winding. Too bad you hadn´t ordered an extra pack of strings.

  • @MsDenver2

    Hi I play a Martin 0m28 reimagined and for many years i tuned my guitar 440 and after much research I now tune my guitar to 432 and after playing it for a week or so I noticed something, I felt very relaxed as I played it. So Italy then hitler made a law that 440 was to be the standard tuning for German musicians and later America and uk and Europe adopted the same standard. When I did my research I found that 440 tuning causes disruption to the brain . So if you vibrate 440 in a bowel of water or sand there is just turbulence, no unity but if you vibrate the water or sand at 432 you get a uniform pattern . I have since learned much more about 432 ie the earth vibration is 432 and much more but can’t go on.

    Beautiful guitar bud! Wait until you hear it plugged in, Fishman makes some of the best pickups on the market. You can take it out but one of the great things about this particular pickup is that it doesn’t compromise the integrity of the guitar, meaning they didn’t have to cut on the instrument to install it so it won’t affect your tone at all. Enjoy!

      Why?

    • @sasquatchlife8836
      @sasquatchlife8836 Před 3 lety +2

      @@rong648 for fear of finish checking/cracking. First of all, this is primarily in reference to all solid wood guitars, or more expensive ones.
      That's why most guitars that are bought online will have a "don't open until 24 hours after delivery". It's just a precaution. It's not entirely necessary unless there's an extreme temp difference between the environment the box ships in, and the temp of inside the player's house. For example, if someone buys a guitar online, and the guitar ships in really cold weather, then the buyer would be very unwise to take the guitar out of the case and expose the guitar to a warm house when the guitar has been so cold. This can cause finish checking or cracking.
      24 hours is a little overboard in most cases, but here's what I'll do. Once a guitar is delivered to my house, I'll keep the box completely sealed. Typically, the box temp will be different than the temp of my house. Once the temp of the box matches the temp of other objects in the room (typically takes a few hours), then I'll remove the case from the box. Then, rinse and repeat. I almost always leave the case in the box for about 12 hours, and then take the case out of the box, and keep the guitar inside the case for 3 to 6 hours.
      If someone removes a guitar from the case in cold winter temps, then they are just asking to ruin their guitar.
      I've seen and heard horror stories.
