  • The highly anticipated Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 has been announced and is ready for pre-order. But is it doomed to fail from the very start? I discuss my thoughts, the specs, pros, cons, and questions in today's video. But most importantly, I want to know your thoughts?
    *I have purchased a pre-order of this mouse. This is not an actual review as I haven't tried the product. The mouse in the video is the Logitech G Pro X Superlight, not the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2.

    Great video. I don't know if I should personally change from a normal G Pro towards a Superlight 2, I've had mine for years but was waiting for GPX2 to release but unsure if its worth tbh.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před 9 měsíci

      That is a tough question. I'm about to sit down and record the GPX OG vs GPX 2. Which may be worth checking out. It's been a long time since I checked my original "review" of the G Pro X Superlight (czcams.com/video/d1FULCx34lY/video.html) But I thought I compared it directly to the G Pro Wireless. So may be worth checking out as well.
      But summation and quick thoughts.
      1. You lose modular side buttons.
      2. A lot lighter, and the Superlight 2 is better balanced, which will be highly noticeable and one of the main reasons to consider.
      3. Optical switches are better. And another point to Superlight 2.
      4. HERO 2 sensor/2,000 Hz. While it doesn't make a big difference. There is a minor one.
      5. Battery life will be better.
      Essentially, I think you are upgrading all around going from the G Pro Wireless to the G Pro X Superlight (assuming you like the shape and aren't using a lot of the GPW features such as modular side buttons and RGB). But the other things are how much money is (new switches/HERO 2 sensor/battery life) worth to you? $30? More depending on sale? Over the Superlight 2. Which I think my new video will help address.
      But in general. As I mentioned at the end of this video think that if the mouse your using right now is working just fine and you aren't having any problems. There is no point in upgrading yet. Wait till that one dies and then jump to the superlight or superlight 2 at that time. Or wait for a great sale and jump on it then.

    Yeah im looking to get a lighter mouse from the g305 and a wireless was thinking about the superlight 2 but I think i will get the deathadder v3 for the 4k polling and half the weight as my current mouse

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před 9 měsíci

      I think in your situation I would think the Superlight 2 may be better than the OG Superlight. Just simply because it is an improvement and will be a big improvement from your G305. But do think looking into the Viper V2 Pro and Deathadder V3 is even better. As I find them to be superior mice performance/tech wise/in general. But the Superlight shape continues to be hard to beat and Logitech continues to be a top performer.

  • @ayaken5972
    @ayaken5972 Před 9 měsíci

    If we had the shape of the GPX and the internals of the DAV3 Pro in one mouse (mouse switch debatable), then it would (probably) be a perfect mouse to safely recommend.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před 9 měsíci

      I agree. The main thing I've been saying as of late is that Logitech nails their shapes but has upper end specs. Where Razer nails their specs/performance but makes solid but not great shapes. And if you were to pair the two together it would lead to some extremely hard to beat mice. And absolutely would be worth recommending. But I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Razer Viper Mini SE, Cobra Pro, Viper V2 Pro, Viper Ultimate, DAV3, G Pro Wireless, G Pro X Superlight, or Superlight 2. As all of them are still some of the best you'll find in multiple aspects. With I think the Viper V2 Pro, Viper Mini SE (if you can tolerate the price), and DAV3 taking the cake of being just awesome all around. With the only negatives being the shape isn't for everyone.

    Great video. Just loved the final considerations (both about the players regarding intention - which implies a learning curve players must get in to - and consumerism oriented society/market as if new gimics per se would magically turn us better players; ofc better tech make things more simple - but is it so linear? games also evolve and become more demanding on hardware, not only your ssd, ram, cpu and gpu performance - but without a true game immersion to understand it, learn, apply new "solutions" to address what and where we most fail, there's no hardware in the world that can solve it for us, they're just means, some better other less, to help us overcome ourselves in gaming - a lesson many of us should transpose to real life if we're not already dealing with our own challenges as we think we might should be doing), as they're just so true... Cheers.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před 9 měsíci +1

      You nailed it! And totally understand the deeper aspects of my point.
      Sometimes we forget that the entire purpose of tech is to make things easier/simpler/take less time. Another way to say that is "your tech should work/assist you. You shouldn't be working for your tech."
      And the lesson of intention and moving the needle forward certainly works with all aspects of life. And I'd argue is the main key that separates the average from the greats. The average settle with where they currently are at. Where the greats are constantly growing, pivoting, learning, and changing in all aspects of their life.

    Brother, this is actually a good review from this mouse cause you're not getting sponsored or don't want to miss the chance to be it like the other 3 channels you mentioned (that are actually really good in terms of review but not enough cause their appreciations aren't clear, like the difference of sensors and the way they don't want to sound too picky unlike you that you felt the difference between top sensors on the market. I haven't got the chance to test the GPX2 but the Razer Viper v2 pro and it's sensors feels smoother and more precise than GPX. People don't say that I dont know the hell why). Anyway, thanks for sharing the specs of the top 3 mouses of market, it's important to show the improvement they have and that those numbers actually matter. People think they don't get 40G forces or above when they do an aggressive flick on apex or overwatch because they're doing a contrast between g forces in terms of meat, flesh and bones [and all their parts like weight, fat, etc] and a mouse. Things are clear. This product just isn't enough for the standarts. You can't offer an outdated sensor and doing changes that were requested (and seeing in other brands) in 2021 (like an amazing usb c lmao)

  • @citrusai5366
    @citrusai5366 Před 9 měsíci

    The price of the mouse is definitely too high as I own the Razer Viper OG and Superlight OG and paid a lot less.
    One thing I will agree with them on is the polling rate decision. Most popular games in rotation atm only support as high as 2.2khz (the extra 200hz if people overclock the mouse)
    Any mouse that has been tested above 2khz (non overclocked so 3 - 8khz) enabled has aiming artifacts.
    This mouse in-particular is mainly designed with pros in mind, in an esports competition you don’t your mouse to be the thing that causes mild stutters in a fast paced situation.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před 9 měsíci

      Interesting. Where is your source for the 2,000 Hz and aiming artifacts? As I'd like to look deeper into that myself.
      I agree the marketing is extremely heavy on "pro minded" and consistency. But I think most of that is just that, marketing. Perhaps it does have the best consistency. But from the testing that I've seen it isn't anymore consistent than any of the other top brands out there and scores lower. More in the upper high end instead of premium range.

    Great review.
    It seems yet again that LogiTech is miles behind competition in attempting to provide a well-rounded mouse for an affordable price. This one seems incredibly average and not worth the price tag.
    I have my current mouse, the Corsair Nightsword, that has relatively comparable albeit lessened specs for half the cost.
    For example, the DPI of the Nightsword is 18,000 and is perfectly adjustable in the iCue app. It has a more natural grip for a medium to large sized hand to utilize.
    The weight of the mouse can also be adjusted according to preference using weights integrated on the bottom side.
    It also comes with side buttons that can be programmed for preference depending on the situation, for a total of ten different programs integrated at one time.
    However, the one downside to this is the max 1,000 Hz report rate, but in nearly all situations I have experienced in FPS games, this has become negligible.
    In all, the only cost for me was $69.99 since I purchased it on sale, although the market price is $89.99.
    Again, this new LogiTech mouse seems embarrassingly mediocre for the price tag.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Logitech has turned into Apple where they certainly keep their products priced at the upper end.
      If you enjoy your mouse and it works well for what you're using it for there certainly is no need to upgrade. Especially, when you get it for $69.99. I do love Corsair's naming schemes too. Scimitar, Dark Core, Nightsword, Darkstar, etc.

    im going to switch from the DAV3 to the superlight 2 just because of the shape. even though this mouse has no resolution accuracy and motion sync just like the DAV3.
    the DAV3 has also a loose scroll whell which is bad for counter strike. cause i put my jump button on it.
    im also happy they went with 2k instead of 4k. 4k drags the battery life extremely down. the DAV3 has only 24 hours of battery life with 4k polling rate dongle (which you need to buy separately). so means you need to charge it nearly everyday.

      You definitely gotta go with whatever shape fits you best.
      In regards to the scroll wheel. I find the Superlight 2 to be very similar to the Deathadder V3 Pro. My Superlight 2 actually feels a bit lighter and less definitive per step than both my DAV3's. Whereas, my OG Superlight is a lot tighter. But I'm not sure how much of this is due to variance.
      The 24 hours is with constant motion I believe. So, unless if you are non-stop moving your mouse it will likely still last 2 - 3 days. But I guess that depends on how often you gaming/use your PC. I've found that have a profile for 1,000 Hz and a profile for 4,000 Hz (or 8,000 Hz with the Viper Mini SE) is my best option. That way for normal browsing I get good battery life and then just need to switch when gaming. But you need Synapse open for that which I don't like.
      Also, as Katze said. You can do 2,000 or 4,000 Hz if you have the HyperPolling Dongle. It doesn't support 2,000 Hz with just the normal dongle. But it'll be interesting to see if Razer sends a firmware update that unlocks that.

      im a heavy user. it should and need to last a week for me. i really dont like if i need to charge often. but the switch from 1000 to 4000 and back is actually a great option.
      i also wrote to the razer support to make the scroll wheel in the next version of the DAV3 more stiffer and tactile. like the OG superlight.
      i have one question left: which one felt more smooth while gaming ? the razer DAV3 with 1000hz or the superlight 2 ?
      thank you for your opinion!

      @ThomasMuehler  Před 9 měsíci

      I would love to get your opinions on the scroll wheel when you get it in and try it out. Especially, to see if it is just my model or not.
      I guess my thing is if you eat lunch or step away from your desk I would find that to be a great time to charge the mouse when you're not using it. Or even over night.
      I find the DAV3 feels a lot more responsive and smooth. I have felt that Razer's sensor and firmware is way ahead of the competition. Which isn't to say that Logitech is doing poorly. But I find a noticeable difference. And if I could only use one, I would pick DAV3 10/10 times just due to how responsive it feels. And my AimLabs and other scores support my findings. Despite me preferring the G Pro X Superlight shape. I've also had a lot of other people say the same that Razer mice feel more responsive. That difference only grows with the 4,000/8,000 Hz. I don't think I've ever heard someone in my comment section say the G Pro X feels more responsive. But I have had a lot of people say they prefer that shape and despite it not feeling as good they perform better with it. Again, I'd love to hear your findings/thoughts when you get the Superlight 2 in. @@savage-1952
