    Excellent! I tried not to do this unless the print head is dead and need to replace. For clog problem I will always take out the right cover (with control panel) to clean both service station and print head, because you can understand if there is something scratched the head. Just power on the printer, when head is moving out from home position you can just open the front cover at once and the head will stop there, you can then power off the machine by power button. I will suggest do not unplug the power chord as that can make sure your machine is still grounding, that can reduce the risk of static shock. All you have to do is just unplug all cables from the mainboard and then you can freely remove the cleaning station, you can use non-woven cloth with 40-50°C hot distilled water and stick on the clogged head for 30 seconds, do couple times. You can also completely clean the wipers and service station by this chance, you may find some paper wool, even hair there.

    Maybe this might help someone through the first steps:
    I was struggling to release the print head with the button combination on my P7000 epson. I didn’t get the maintenance menu but other kind of options.
    I fugured that If I just turn the power off, turn it on again, wait and look through the plastic till the head moves and pull the plug at the right moment I can release the printhead too!

      Turn the printer off and unplug for 15 minutes. See if you still have that error. I think it could be a over current issue .. can happen if anything is wet. Also could be the carriage stuck, or the print head leads are placed crooked. Try those. But I normally start with turning thr printer off and unplugging for a while. Let me know

    Hi I had a question? After cleaning and putting back the printer head how do you get ink back into the printer head? Do you need to perform head cleaning? Or other option? So that ink gets back into the head. For nozzle Chek? I print now couple I nozzle but there is no ink.
    If I put a new print head there, what's the next step? Printer head is empty and no ink should I do some normal cleaning? So that ink gets into the head Or refill ink?

    How do you know if you have a dead print head?!

    • @ladyprintboss
      @ladyprintboss  Před rokem

      That's a great question . It needs a complete video. It's hard to tell the difference between a dead head and clog. If you have a persistent clog that you can't clean it may be a damaged print head. If your print head is leaking then it is delaminated and that's considered dead. Also you could be getting a printhead error message that says your printhead is dead but it can actually be that the ribbon that is connected to the printhead is bent of damaged. It takes a lot of trouble shooting. Most of the time you can recover a clogged head. I sell a solution that can bust most clogs

  • @levib571
    @levib571 Před rokem

    You are awesome! My wife and I are both following you! So I got my 9700 from our town art gallery, the green was very clogged. I couldn't get anything through that channel on the head so I let it soak for a few hours, just the bottom, and when I came back the liquid was all green! Success! All channels rained beautiful little drops. But now, I have all 11 channels blinking at me with a red x. If I take one out, I didn't want to put the green back, it shows the rest. Even the new ones I put in. But as soon as I install them all, I get 11 dead channels. I am thinking suction? Pressure? The head doesn't try to move or anything and when I have it open the doors, I don't hear it release air. Do you think it's a cable? I'm not getting an error like others so I don't think so... I am buying the service program on Ebay but also wanted to see what you think.
    I tried service mode and it doesn't offer a solution that I can see. Also, it turned on, then off the first time. I had to unplug it, push the power button to discharge the capacitors, then it turned on.
    It did that at the gallery when we were looking at it, but it never came back so I bought another power board and it worked fine.
    I did a print test and ONE channel showed ink and it was not clean. Thank you again!

    • @levib571
      @levib571 Před rokem

      Well, I figured I would just do a power clean from maint mode and it threw me error code 1439. I took out the wiper and cleaned it, I cleaned the pad to the left, and I cleaned the 4 slits that the head parks over, plus I messed with that screw and on the side and moved the "knob" that moves the carriage up and down... I'm going to leave it open to dry and leave it unplugged while I get this program going... I figured I would clean everything while I was there, now I don't now what caused this lol.

    • @ladyprintboss
      @ladyprintboss  Před rokem +1

      That's a cap station error that is telling you something is not seated correctly check all those connections there and make sure everything is put back properly.
      I think you also may need to check that green cartridge to see if it's reading properly. So you have a chip resetter

      The green cart is so low it won't do anything even when I did get them to show up. Idk how people are using these printers with 4 or 5 channels empty?! 🤔 I have one on the way! I didn't want to disassemble again until I've checked everything else.
      I now have the service manual AND the Epson service program as well.
      Thank you for your help and responding. I'll gladly pass on the service manual and service program if you want them.

    I have a lot of air in both magenta channels (that would be a 7890, not 9890), so it seems the printer is unable to draw ink from the cartridge. Would it be possible to suck ink from the exit holes on that first cover without actually dissasembling the actual print head? If it's avoidable, I mean.

    • @ladyprintboss
      @ladyprintboss  Před 2 lety +1

      If there is air in your lines. Start up your printer in service mode and do an iniziale fill. It used alot of ink but pushed all that air through the lines and prices the cartridges by sucking the ink up to the print head. You don't need to remove your printhead for that

    I have followed the instruction on my 9890 that was losing the yellow channel. All went well but after assembly, I got error 1A39. The service manual says it is due to a slant cable connection but all 4 cables are sitting straight and connectors are perfect without any damage. Reassembly didn't help. I suspect the cleaning solution leaked into the head electronics and caused a short somewhere.

      Check the 2 white cables going into the printhead. There are a little gold metal pieces on that cable make sure their is no damage to those and that it is pushed in all the way.
