I’d give anything to find a dealer that would watch this video and duplicate this level of testing. My Escalade rides absolutely terrible. Two separate dealers claim “nothing wrong with the vehicle” even after I replaced all four shocks.
Hi, i have a tahoe 2016 i replaced all 4 shocks ride much better than before, but i ask the dealer to recalibrate the suspension module and they said NO because my car is a 2016 you believe that😥
@@johnorozco7580what does it being a 2016 have to do with it getting recalibrated? Did you install OEM or aftermarket shocks? I have a 2016 Platinum and just bought aftermarket Magneride ones from Strut Masters and I'll install them this week but wasn't sure if the control module needed to be recalibrated. I'm also considering replacing the suspension sensors if the shocks still feel bad. Maybe the suspension sensors have gone out too.
Have you tested a 2024 XT4 Active Sport Suspension system? Can you comment on the difference between the standard suspension and the upgraded Active Sport Suspension system? Tremendously informative video. Wish you were in my area.
These shocks fail different. Normal shock get soft. These get hard when they fail. I think the fluid degrades and the ports plug up. That’s why they get hard. I replaced the from shocks on my ‘09 at 80k miles. I did not replace the rears but now at 130k the rears feel really stiff. Rockauto was the best deal I found. It’s a good system when it works but I don’t think it last as long as conventional shocks and it’s also pricy to repair. There is companies that sell conventional replacements with bypass so you don’t get a check engine light.
It would be great if you'd do a video on a Z55 suspension. I have the issue and "everyone" says they crap out at 15000 mi. So what fails in the dang shock? It would be great if you disected a bad shock to reveal the failed component. Maybe backyard mechanics can come up with a better solution other than fooling the system and putting in standard shocks. SO update to all those with Z55 front strut issues....so in my 2013 black diamond I have z55 with 6f2 and 7f2 shock code. You won't find it if you look for 2013 Avalanche. But if you search for code on Rock Auto you will find it maps to 2016 Cadillac escalade ACDELCO 5401713 {84059852, 540-1713} Info FitsFront Left; 2016-1/2 MODEL YEAR IDENTIFICATION(AVV), SUSP(6F2), SUSP(6GG), SUSP(6GK) orFront Right; 2016-1/2 MODEL YEAR IDENTIFICATION(AVV), SUSP(7F2), SUSP(7GG), SUSP(7GK). My 19 esv bounces crazy on rear took it to dealer and said shocks dont throw codes but i was like ok but it should be smooth not bouncy all over the place. More fancy more things to break.
@@strongisland7015 made dealer check and front struts showed fine on scan tool when they did more digging found front struts seized and made it bouncy like golf cart. But i feel like rear are same because on bumps it jumps too so next is going to be checking rear. But it is rocking side to side when i push down on center is it normal to rock side to side. It should just go up and down right.
@@atlant2566 when you say bouncy like a golf cart you’re saying it’s a rough ride then, not like the shocks are worn out and when you hit a bump it’s too much bounce right? Definitely imo up and down not side to side.

Awesome video. I changed my XT5 damping strut and still have codes
Very well explained!
What scan tool are you using / recommend?
I heard him say AUTEL.. I just need to make sure I get the right one. I have Z55 not Z95 which is what he is testing
Wish you ere in FL - dont trust dealer... also I have lost ride hight... original wheels rubbing
Did you check to see if each side height from finder to rim was the same height?
Thanks for sharing

What did you replace them with? I'm having the same issue with my 17 ESV

Can you reset the level default settings and would you show us? I have a autel 920.
What scope did you use??

Did the dealer fix the issue? Was it a rough ride or just super bouncy?
