Lightning TESTING! Vekoma launch coaster at Furuvik

- Check out testing footage of Lightning - the new generation Vekoma Family launch coster that will soon open at the Swedish park Furuvik.
Each ride consists of two laps with the second have a rolling launch.
The coaster is the same modell as Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood and use an LIM launch to send the riders from 0-75 km/h in just a few seconds.

Good year for family coasters in Sweden! I like how this is not a regular clone family coaster. I like that it goes trought the layout twice and the second time is faster.
Really happy we got not only one great Vekoma but two! Keep up the great work swedish parks :- )

You have been covering Scandinavia with awesome videos and hopefully in the future too! I Think it’s going to be a phenomenal summer coming for theme parks because of these two coasters and also of course Storm.
I strongly suggest that Lighting is intended to be a mass produced layout, it’s significantly smaller and more compact than the other FLC Big Bear Mountain.
woah, the launch actually looks kind of intense and the pacing is just incredible. This is gonna be one hell of a family coaster
Temper your expectations on the launch, Big Bear Mountains launch is less forceful than I expected, Gerstlaur tire drives are more aggressive

It sure is! Counting coasters allowing riders from 1 meter there is nothing like the new Vekoma FLC modell.
Don't think I have ever been on a Gerstlauer tire launch, but I have been on Juvelen - an Intamin tire launch and Lightning is one tiny step slower and has slighty less top speed.... but since it allows for riders from 1 meter - it feels like a valid trade off.
I love the theming. The station looks fantastic as do the sign and train.
Vekoma just gets better and better 😀

I was on furuvik yesterday and I tested lightning! It was so fun and I could never stop! Remember kids, everything looks scarier than it is😉

I wish vekoma still used the arrow track they showed it was smooth on the great noreaster just needed better trains and profiling. Would be nice to see the track that started it all be used on major coasters.
definitely will have some kids’ first airtime moments.

It is really impressive that kids from 4-5 years old will get a launch coaster of this speed. Kind of wish I was a child again :- )

It looks even better than big bear mountain!
Having ridden BBM I disagree the layout on this has serious pacing issues on the first lap, and isn’t as intense. BBM pulls 3.2g while Vekoma claims that Lightning only has 2.8g

Definitely the best Vekoma for riders from 1 meter. You can't really compare it to the bigger modells.
