- Dr Gabor Mate discusses his regrets about his interview with Prince Harry earlier this year.
Dr Mate admitted he doesn’t regret doing the interview but the way it was conducted.
“What I mean by that is I had a strong sense that this interview should be free for everybody - it should be a service to the public,” he told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
He said it was a “great discussion” and he enjoyed meeting the Duke of Sussex.
“What was wrong with it was it was put behind a paywall, so a lot of people had to buy his book in order to watch the interview.”
The entire Gabor & Harry event was really quite shameful.
Harry’s disdain for his family is quite disturbing. He needs severe psychiatric health.
Gabor never challenged Harry & his delusions.
How can you be happy after having hurt his whole family and publicly? He could just have gone to live abroad, quietly!
Harry’s biggest mistake is disconnecting with his family in front of the whole world & making millions off of it while throwing them completely under the bus… this is not how one fix trauma.
So nice to see Pierce keeping his mouth shut and actually listening.

Harry didn't disconnect. He stayed very much connected by slandering his family and making money out of it. When you truly what to disconnect, you sever your ties with your family and live happily ever after, without mentioning them - because that's what you wanted, right? His behavior is despicable, unsavory, entitled, and, in the end, pathetic.

We all know that Markle is behind the money-making, she is the one who is blocking with the lawyers, the harch reality is, when you sign up for these big deals, you sell your ability to be authentic.
Harry is hooked on blame and self pity. I have never heard him show the slightest understanding or empathy for anyone else. His brother carried the big brother hero role when he was suffering as much or more, but had to be the strong and brave one.
I think blame is highly destructive, but we all need to look at our own role in causing or increasing our own suffering and problems. Harry doesn’t show any capacity or willingness to do that self examination.
People who say “ my truth” isn’t always the truth. There are always 2 sides to the story,2 versions and omissions of THE truth.

Harry is also emotionally immature and mentally disturbed to this day.
Dr. Mate would say that Harry's substance abuse issues are the result of the traumas he has experienced.
And Harry’s pathological sense of entitlement and lack of empathy. Harry has shown his lack of empathy many many times throughout his life.
As a child his was incorrigible. By itself that isn’t proof of narciasscm, but then as a young adult he uses drugs, finds fun in being cruel to other children and mistresses at his school.
In his book he lies and disrespects the young woman with whom he shared his first sexual encounter.
Then there is Harry’s history of animal abuse such as when he demanded to ride a pregnant mare for a polo match. He then drove the mare to such an extent that she died mere hours after the match. Then on another occasion he inflicted terrible injuries on another polo pony whose flesh he impaled and slashed with the utterly unnecessary spurs he wore.
And then there was his grotesque cruelty and disrespect to his grandfather and grandmother before their deaths and his bizarre sexual innuendos about his Mother and his appreciation for Megan and how she reminds him of his Mother.
Remember,Mefan is the women he has sex with. For most well adjusted men, the scent of their mother’s perfume may evict feelings of love, but not erotic love.
So why didn’t Gabor examine and discuss any of these bizarre and narcissistic and deeply inappropriate behaviours that Harry has displayed?

In an interview with Bill Simmons, the Spotify exec, he recounts he had a meeting with Harry, whose ideas For podcasts included interviewing the Pope and Putin to name a few. The world he lives in of his own imagined importance is tragic.
I wonder if Harry’s caught onto the fact that people in Hollywood are only interested in him if he can provide royal drama, gossip and dirt …..nothing he brings to the table is of interest, except the fact that Invictus Games is well respected. I wonder if Harry is aware that he’s becoming or has become a rent-a-royal.
The fact that these new Netflix projects that Harry and Megan will produce are actually being produced by another production company not Archwell and they’re being credited as executive producers amongst many, this is very very telling.

Harry, as millions of us, have had traumatic experiences and are still dealing with those traumatic events. However, he acts as if no one else has suffered from trauma. He’s brother also dealt, and probably is until this day dealing with traumatic events.
I am quite aware that we are all different people and deal even with the same issues/trauma, differently. But this guy acts as if he’s the only one in the world, that has suffered. He had the privilege, the money to hire 100 therapists if he wanted to at his disposal, and at his wife’s disposal as well. But he and her chose to trash and sell off his family to the highest bidder in order to “fight” his trauma”. Thats not dealing with trauma. Thats called betrayal and selling your own family. He could had dealt with this privately like ALL of us do. We pay a private therapist to help us. Confidentiality!!!

You can be traumatized and still not sell your family. Doc handled the interview very naively. Good for him to apologize but it was a major mistake. Also I think a therapy session is not meant to be on TV, since a therapist is meant to be neutral and open to their clients feelings, which doesn't go well with a client who already used the public to take revenge on their family and make a living of it.

It is obvious Dr Mate has believed the various lies Harry has told him. William has been through the same experience as Harry yet he is totally different. William is strong, dependable, kind and caring and has a beautiful wife and children, Harry is weak, easily manipulated, cares for no one but himself and can be exceptionally cruel and selfish. Married the wrong woman who has brought out the very worst in him. God help his children what a difficut life they have.
I'm not following. What lies did he tell him? And it's not correct in saying they've been through the same experienced; different people experience and process trauma differently.
@@Dr_Lucozade Harry said his father did not help him or comfort him when his mother died. Charles did but in his own way, which was not good enough it appears for Harry. People may process trauma differenty but the trauma Harry and William experienced was exactly the same. The both lost their mother in tragic circumstances and had to deal with a very public funeral and media speculation. They both had a loving and extended family around them to help them. Harry had a very good relationship with his father, with William and Kate until Meghan came on the scene. She changed him and the narrative he spouts today is very different from that which was evident to all at the time.

My truth is that Mr Gabor is a charlatan posing as a psychologist who broke countless ethics rules that his profession is supposed to be bound to by doing "therapy" in front of cameras knowing it would be broadcast to millions (not allowed, ever), which anyway was actually a propaganda exercise designed to rehabilitate Harry's appalling reputation. Piers should have asked Gabor about his total lack of ethics and, importantly, how much he was paid. Watching him try to talk his way around that one would have been amusing.

Gabor admitted that he regrets the interview being monetised, but he would have known this prior to the interview being released, and I am fairly certain Gabor would have been paid for the interview.
Gabor said that at 38 he made a lot of mistakes, clearly, he is still making dumb mistakes at seventy-nine, it is all well and good to be true to yourself, I think that is important that you are authentic in life, being authentic is very different to being true to your self, being authentic is saying that my word has a price, and that price was lower than he would have liked, which is what I am hearing in this interview.
Your integrity should have no price at the level of money that Harry and Gabor have, alas, neither is authentic or have great integrity, money is more important to them both than doing the right thing, I do accept that both think that being true to themselves is cathartic, but in this life, you have to carry your cross, else chaos and division take hold, life should not be about taking sides.

Many people lose their parents as children but at some point you have to grow up and own responsibility for yourself and your decisions. Telling one's truth is the new buzz word - we can have our own perspective about our experiences and no ones parents or families are perfect and we have to make decisions to get on with our lives. Harry is vitriolic about his family and this has done nothing but demonstrate his and his wife's insane jealousy. Does Dr Mate not recognise these destructive and delusional traits. How does being hateful help Harry achieve healing, autonomy and to move on? The aim of therapy is to enable people to move on not to legitimise their hatred or jealousy. It sounds like the therapists Harry is seeing are not really helping him which is unethical- a therapist would not support a person's delusional behaviour. They have also failed to see the co-ercive control of meghan and her mother. This is Domestic Violence. I appreciate that Harry may not recognise nor understand that he is in an abusive relationship but other people can see this. Also, the impact on his children was not acknowledged. Harry is an adult and he needs to stop this victim narrative and find a positive purpose in his extremely privileged life. I think that Dr Mate enabled this victimhood for entertainment. He did not tell Harry that he needs to grow up and that at times it takes a life time to heal from childhood trauma but it is Harry's choice to make positive choices for himself and his children. Speaking one's truth is nonsense the truth is the truth - so he felt unloved or unsupported welcome to the real world - at least you have a roof over your head, access to food, clean water, health care and safety. Harry's whining of his first world problems presents him as a vicious, low value human being who serves no purpose other than putting out hate. Dr Mate should have told Harry the truth not stroked his ego. We all have our crosses to bear but how we do this builds our character for the better. Will Harry still be whining when he is 50, 60 or 70 years old? He may do because he has no purpose - he has made himself useless rather than being man enough to cut his own road with all his privilege and wealth.

Indeed , the role of the royal family seems to mainly be about making yourself media fodder. Witness what happened to Kate recently. She couldn't even recover from a serious operation without people on social media and in the mainstream media making up horrible stories about her.
