I'm 2 days into reading and worshiping The Lord with the Psalms! I was inspired to read the Psalms to my baby in the womb, so we're in this together. Thank you so much for providing tasteful and worshipful music to learn the Psalms and play them on repeat. How awesome is The Lord Most High! Great and worthy of our praise. Full of wisdom and endless mercy. "For the earth is The Lord's and the fullness thereof" already stuck in my head! 🎶

"ha Baal" which is the Name of an Idol meantioned in the Bible!
No One should have ever replaced Yahwehs Name with this title/name!
"Choose ye this day whom ye will serve! As for me and my house we will serve Yahweh!"

I love this song, but it would be better if we could hear the words as well as the music (when the music gets louder, the voices don't seem to as much so the words are not heard as clearly). Just a little more volume on the vocals would be great! The song is beautiful! Great job!

Nice sound. Thanks for making these. The first prayer in the book of Psalms is in Ps 2. God tells the Son to ask for the nations as his inheritance and it will be given. I think this is poetrically like the promise to Abraham to bless the world in the propmised son. Then after the cross, the crook and the crown Psalms Ps 22 23 24, the meek inherit the earth in Ps 35 (and also 37) The meek inherit the earth, in the Son in God (in fullfilment of the promises to Abraham)

Which translation did you use for the lyrics?
Hi Alexander, no particular translation. I wrote this song 13 years ago, and my main goal was to convey the entire Psalm and its meaning. Our later albums stay much closer to the original text, but I still think this version communicates the Psalm well.
@@ThePsalmsProject Gotcha. Considering God's perfect word already exists in numerous translations, and he's blessed us with an entire song book with it's lyrics. It would be nice if we had all of them preformed in numerous ways. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find a single person doing God's word unaltered. Which you'd think is strange, considering all the passages about punishment for 'adding or removing' to the word. Thanks for the response
@@Orderite00 How would you define "adding or removing" from the Word in a song, or "doing God's Word unaltered?" Does a particular translation have to be followed word-for-word to be "doing God's Word unaltered?" Do you mean removing/adding entire sections? Translating a verse in a way that means the same thing? Not a gotcha question, but a sincere one.
@@ThePsalmsProject Yes, if someone sets out to do psalm number x and chooses y translation to be the basis for what they sing. They should sing it word for word as it is written. Genuine answer, appreciate sincerity, for lying lips are an abomination to God. (Proverbs 12:22)
God knows what's in the heart of all who claim to be his servants. Who praises him with their lips and not their hearts. It is up to each one of us to constantly strive to pursue wisdom and service to our divine creator, and be worthy servants of his.
How is it that with so many self identifying followers of the faith today. There can be little to no recitation of the holy song book? Instead everyone has their own song to sing, but not God's songs, and when they do, they do not even follow the word as it is written.

Obviously I disagree with you that one particular translation of a particular language must be sung word for word for it to truly be the "unaltered" word of God. I do not believe translations themselves are inspired, but the original documents, which we do our best to portray with words in our own language so that the Word of God may be communicated clearly. I appreciate you brother and respect your answer and will leave it at that. Soli Deo Gloria
So i gotta say that changing the psalms with more Western words is borderline wrong...its a good project but it can be done without changing the bible...I think im done for a bit and ill just read it

This song is 13 years old, and you will find that our later Psalm songs (Volumes 3-6 in particular) put much less "commentary" in the lyrics, but merely relate the text of the Psalm in modern English.
As you probably know, every English translation of the Bible uses "Western words," and in that way "changes" the Psalm from the original Hebrew. 😀
But if you're referring to the extra "commentary" we put into this Psalm to help modern readers understand it in a modern context, that is a fair criticism, and something we've gone away from, even though I believe all the "commentary" in this song is Biblical and rooted in Biblical truth.

@ThePsalmsProject don't get me wrong I love the project. These are the original hymns that the apostles sang, in congregations, in prison and on the way to be executed. Each one is not only a song of praise and worship but an invaluable lesson in following God in belief in christ. While most of the Psalms obviously point to our lord and savior, its harder to reach someone who only knows them in the original translation and explain that you aren't altering the words to fit your explanation.
Easier for their own mind and spirit to come to the realization using the word in its original :) just as christ taught in parables and not flat out saying what to do and not to do.
