  • Thanks for coming to Stars Of The Diamond!
I recently won a few lots in the recent Vintage Non-Sports Auctions (ended 2/28/2021. The auction is run by Tom Boblitt and he consistently brings some of the best non-sports cards at auction. There is a little bit of everything, from Tobacco (N- and T- cards), Candy and Gum Cards, to Large Advertising Pieces, and pretty much everything else one can imagine.
Opening packages from auction houses are always exciting moments for us collectors so I wanted to share the experience.
If you have any questions about the cards here or if you want to talk cards just comment below!

I really enjoy these videos. Your knowledge of all these cards is incredible. So many of the 19th century non sports cards are beautiful. I had some of the Murai Bros. cards from Japan in the past. Looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks for posting the link to Tom's auction site. I didn't realize he had one.

Vintage Non-Sports Auctions is a pretty new venture for Tom, I think he began running just a few years ago. Non-Sports cards have really grown in popularity over the past few years as more and more of the baseball/sports guys started to expand their collections.

@@starsofthediamond7126 I remember in the early 90s setting up at a non sports only show in San Jose, CA. It was really interesting. It is definitely an underappreciated collectible.

Truly enjoyed this, except that you showed so much great stuff that I now want to go explore! I think one of your Zeenut videos showed up on the main page and that's how I found your channel. Will certainly be checking out the old videos sometime soon. Please keep making videos!

Glad you enjoyed the video! Be sure to check out some of my other videos as well.
What makes vintage cards so fun is the sheer volume of what was produced to be collected! I have tons of stuff within the collection to make videos of so be sure to check back regularly.

@@starsofthediamond7126 I will be checking out more, probably this week. I haven't gotten too much into the non-sport, but I do like the T37s (I've made good progress on the set) and the Flags set you mentioned.

Just came across your channel and loving the content! Do you have a good link to learn more about the O-Pee-Chee royalty set? That King Henry card is amazing! Can't find anything helpful with my limited Google searches.

Thanks for the kind words and the views! Check out non-sport.com (it is run by a friend and while the site is somewhat strangely set up there isn’t a better source for info on non sports cards on the internet.)

Wow, can't believe I hadn't found that site before now. Thank you! I've really caught the non-sport bug. Do you primarily focus on American non-sport or also interested in European?

@@groofray73 it isn’t a well known site. One used primarily by a smaller group of us that use the Net54 Non-Sport forum (which is Also a smaller group of vintage non sport collectors.) I am actually about 65% sports and 35% non and primarily collect American and Canadian cards only… you have to draw the line somewhere :)

I used to be 100% sport but I've switched to about 90% non-sport now. Quite a turn, but just far more fascinating in the non-sports world for me. Love the variety, the artwork, the challenge. We do have to draw the line somewhere! 😆
Thank you for your insights here and for sharing your collection on YT. Very helpful and entertaining!

@@groofray73 I don’t blame you on the shift. I have been collecting a lot more Non-Sports the past 4-5 years than I ever had before. It is such fun (and more affordable) part of the hobby.
