  • Making an Action Figure Display is something we have always had a big interest in. on top of that, we have a large collection of Star Wars Black Series figures that we want a new and interesting way to display in our collection. So today we will take you on a bit of a journey with both the diorama build and a bit of history with our little friend . . . The Jawa.
A big thank you to this week's sponsor ELEGOO! Please follow the link below and have a look at all they have to offer. We also have included a link to the Mars3 which we used to create several items in this week's project. Thank you ELEGOO!

Sherlock Smuggler, that's a new look for you!
I really liked the tiny LED eyes in the Jawa, those worked well.
I've a Jawa in the corner of my workshop but he just stares out the window. If he even looked at any of my droids I'd make him a whole lot shorter than 1m tall! I had him looking out the front of my house but the neighbour across the street said he was scaring his kids and asked me to move him!

Lovely work Brian. That's a great little diorama. If you want to deep dive into Elegoo printers, I recommend the Uncle Jessy YT channel. He's a maker with a ton of their stuff.
My personal theory is that a Jawa can see deeper into the light spectrum than we can, and while we only see a black void under their hood, they can see one another's faces fine. They might even see other colors we don't perceive, and their robes are in fact different, but we can't tell.

      @TheSmugglersRoom  Před 2 lety +1

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
The miniatures are a lot of fun to build. The room is far from finished, however the biggest challenge has been time to work on the large scale aspects of the room and still have time to get out regular content. So the introduction of the miniatures is helping us to create both projects, and time to get back on track with the room.
      Hopefully both are enjoyable.

Great job, good sir.* I see a lot of Boylei inspiration here. I've been considering adding a resin printer to my arsenal. I've seen good things with the Elegoos. Now to decide whether to save further for a Saturn, or settle for a Mars.
    Questions:
What is the text that you engraved on the base? It's a bit too small to read.
Did you go out and purchase the outfit? Or is that part of your normal Saturday evening/night out attire?
What are those LEDs you used for the Jawa eyes? They don't look like standard LEDs.
Overall awesome addition to the room. Can't wait to see more, and more, and more…

Thanks Deanna! Boylei certainly has taught me a few things. He's a great guy!
      - It says: Jawa Star Wars Black Series
      - The outfit was recently purchased for these series of smaller builds we want to do, but I kind of like it LOL
      - I dropped a link the the description for the LEDs, they are great little micro LEDs
Glad you like the build. We have so many of these and i'd rather have them on a cool display than just sitting on a shelf.

Thin the paint down to get a wash, dip in a tiny brush and then touch the tip to a groove in your model/part/thing, and the thinned paint will wick along the seam depositing pigment. it is even fun to watch it flow out.
