  • The Book of Boba Fett has brought back the iconic Slave 1 Firespray Gun Ship. With it, it also brought back the nostalgia I had as a kid for the toy version of that ship. So today we are going to take part in a Toy Conversion of that cherished childhood collectable.

I love the boldness to continue 'playing' with the toys of our childhood by doing what we might have done if we had the bank accounts we have as adults. And the continual pursuit of tearing down cardboard walls. I love the creativity and vision of your projects....and the ability to narrate beyond tutorial style and tap into another level of entertainment

Let the collectors seethe. Their hoarded mint-in-box versions just went up in value. You however made that piece of plastic look like we always imagined it did when we were kids. Outstanding work.

I always modified my toys when I was a kid. That led me into scale molding and scratch building in my teens and early 20's I've lost a lot over the years but I still have some and now I want to pull them out along with my old model builds and rework them and display them. Thanks!!!

I got a sense of nostalgia watching this video, I actually still have many of my Hasbro star wars figures and vehicles from the 70's and 80's, all of which show wear and tear from the 'battles' of my childhood imagination. You never grow out of it!

WOW! Yet ANOTHER GREAT BUILD! I've been a Modeler since I was about six or so. Both my dad and my older brother taught me SO MUCH!
I'm almost 57 now and THIS is going to be my NEXT PROJECT! I bought a Complete "Slave One" at a rummage sale last Summer for $5.00!
But that wasn't the ONLY Star Wars toy I snagged! I also snagged two of the later "X-WINGS" when they made it more accurate for the 3.75" Figs. and a whole BUNCH Of vintage Star Wars figures! I spent about $12.00 and walked away with a HUGE BOX Of stuff!
So this was a definite Inspirational Video!
Thanks. And My the FORCE Be With You! :D

Ok, I must say.. this video and its narration felt like it described my feelings to a "T".. reminiscent of James' bench build, this drew on the nostalgia of Star Wars and my childhood that reminds me of the absolute joy this franchise has given me. Thank you for keeping that spirit alive.. When I saw that Slave 1 fire spray model and followed along as you dissected the piece I felt at ease knowing you were the one doing this "re-imagining" of that scale model. It was then that I realized we make our own determinations on what gives anything value in this life, there are no set rules or standards.. Thank you for awakening the creator in us all and being the vehicle that has delivered us there.. In other words good build lol

Your toy, your call. I am a bit of a purists on restorations but have a rebellious side that does support modifications too. The question is: What is the purpose of the build? I love what you did to your childhood toy. You made it more yours than it was, still making memories with it. You were not "restoring" it. Good looking build.

I'm using your video as a tutorial on how I'll paint mine. Keeping it stock and original is really tempting but damn that looks amazing! Well done!

As Toy Story has told us, toys are meant to be played with and used. If playing with them means repainting or modifying them to make the owner happy, then go for it. If playing with them means keeping them in the plastic and hanging them on a wall, that's fine too. Everyone is going to have a different way to enjoy their own toys.
