That turned out amazing, great job and great seeing you diving into this part of the maker world as well :D
Thank you so much for watching! You guys were a big inspiration for trying this out! Thank you for what you do!
oh senpais noticed
I was just about to send this to them. Lol
Ily
You , somehow have this ridiculous ability to make me, and others, want to try things that we've never done.. Thanks again for showing us the way
Thank you very much my friend!
This is the way...
"Sometimes remembering stuff is just painful" - I felt that
LOL
Really great work. Giving an old toy a new story.
Thank you!
Brian Thompson this world is in a strange and some what uncomfortable place in the last few year. That said the one thing that I stumbled on to in that troubled time has made me a better person and also gotten me to get out of my comfort zone and get out there and make something out of Nothing and my friend. That is the smugglers room. You have a way of motivating and inspiring that can not be matched this build pulled at the hart strings and for this I thank you !
Thank you so much Dennis. Really appreciate you bro.
I know you build dioramas with toys. It looks Awesome!!!! I find it relaxing to build plastic scale models and building them along with a diorama for them to go into as well.
I love your channel man, Colorado native, born and raised on Star Wars. Made stormtrooper armor out of a pickle bucket when I was 10. Thanks for the content. Please keep it coming.
Yeah, as soon as you showed that vintage toy, my first thought was " oh god the collectors will cry out over this".
I've had the same crap myself when I've modified my guitars. People saying "you've ruined its value" and "you'll never be able to sell that".
All I can ever think or say is "Like I care, I don't want to sell it, its MINE!"
LOL, totally agree!
The idea is mint. Would love to see a very large HOTH scene created with crashed snow speeders, ton-tons, WAMPAS and imperial troops etc. would look awesome!!
Collectors: “you’re ruining the value of this classic toy”.
Real people, after the diorama is done: “you’ve made a cheap toy look like it’s worth 20x as much.
I’m a ‘real people’ type. So glad you committed assault on that old toy. Young Brian came out amazing! How/where did you get a custom mini you? Also…I’m so glad you share your ‘mistakes’ with us. Gives us the courage to try to do things. Knowing that the ‘big leaguers’ are also human 🤓 is encouraging. Lol.
Thank you Deanna! I think it's more valuable now too. I got the young Brian by creating it on Hero Forge. You can create all the figures you want, and totally customize them. Then you can either order the figure or pay for the .stl and print yourself.
Always happy to share the mistakes, as there are always some to share. Thank you as always for watching and supporting!
@@TheSmugglersRoom There just happy little mistakes that want to be a tree of a fluffy cloud... :-)

What a awesome comment! Thanks for sharing!

I couldn't agree more with you there. The diorama he did looks sooooo expensive it's ridiculous. I would pay top dollar for it.
You’d probably love Marklin of Sweden’s channel, too. He does HO train stuff but he shows so many ways of attaining different patinas inexpensively it’s always a joy to watch.
Brian, that was fantastic! You had me geeking out over rocks - they look amazing. Looking at the miniature, I can just imagine Teen Brian rounding the corner, seeing the feet of an AT-ST and then looking up, up, up in wide-eyed wonder. Brilliant work, my friend, as always 🙏 🤓
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much!
I am AMAZED! I’d love to have one of these for my own. As I too spent many a day gone by searching for things from a galaxy far, far away!
Great project and you did a wonderful job. I really feel like I had experienced a similar moment as a kid and it brought those memories back through looking at your diorama.
If you want to see some very interesting and out there kind of methods on building diorama, I'm always amazed at how some of the Gundam related ones turn out. Yes it isn't Star Wars but when it comes to making these I would imagine a lot of the scenry would be similar and both genres love the big metal scifi structures/machinery so the technique could be used. Plus some of them that work on action scenes to make them feel alive and how implement small electronic boards like raspbery pi to handle effects, sounds, and lighting can get crazy.
Thanks for all your hard work and I can't wait to see more!
VERY NICE!!! Now, take that outside. Set it on a table so you have an actual nature-scene in the background and capture an image of it with the sky / mountains / trees / etc. Whatever you have near you for the background. That could make one EPIC photo!
Wow I'm really surprised how real it looks, it looks like you took a star wars scene and put it in your house. Impressive!
Thank you so much 😀
This is incredible!! You just continue to improve and grow with each project and inspire me and so many others to do the same.
Great work! I love your videos. I also really love your philosophy about why and how you build. It is really refreshing and hits home. I know it "legitimizes" things for my and probably others. Keep it up. Your fans are with you.
Thank you very much!
Wow! Love it! Thanks for all the tips, I really want to make more dioramas! Would love ,more videos like this!
Truly inspiring my friend! You get at the heart of why we make things!! Imagination keeps us young at heart! Awesome diorama and such a great way to capture that childhood memory!!
Thank you very much! Appreciate you bro!
Recently came across your videos. Amazing stuff. Maybe my mid-life crisis, but just started back into my fascination of collecting Starwars and making my own space. Can't wait to try some of your ideas and concepts.
The diorama looks amazing, all that work definitely paired off. 👍
I love that you keep trying new techniques and building things you've never done before. Keep exploring and learning and sharing it with us as you go!
That's the plan! Thank you!
Magnifique ! Love from France and happy new year !
Loved this build, learned a few things, gathering my greebles and such, building a foam cutter, and getting ready for my first attempt, something Mech/Apocalyptic in nature..
Thanks again for all your videos....
Great to hear! Can't wait to see what you build!
This is a true story about the Impact your Channel had on me. So about 3 years ago I found your CZcams. It came at a time that I was in and out of mental hospitals and I had severe depression and I had no purpose. I found you CZcams and thought hey I could do that and so I did. Nonstop projects and I grew my skills. I beat depression and too this day I'm still creating costumes and projects. Then someone discovered me and I created a job for my self based on my projects. So thank you for everything Brian I hope your Channel soars to great heights.
This is a great story. This hobby, sparked by Brian and others, has also helped me with my chronic depression. Doing ‘stuff’ keeps me ‘out of my head’ and focused on making things from nothing. Though, I’ll never make it a career. Keep on truckin’
WOW! We are truly humbled that we would have anything to do with helping you. Thank you so much for sharing your story. We are so happy to hear you are finding healing through making. Please share any links you have to your work, we would love to see it. Thank you Missy, all the best to you my friend!
It is a great story Deanna, and i'm so glad you are able to use creativity to fight off depression. Life all too often deals out lemons, and we have to find ways to lift ourselves up and escape for the ugliness of reality. Keep on keeping on!
You do amazing work. I really enjoyed this episode and it will certainly help me with my own diorama.
Well done-! Most of all, being a Maker is what defines the term, 'passionate.' BRAVO.
D.A.
Superb! I’ve seen so many makers that are narrowly focused in just one area that it’s great to watch a maker that really has no boundaries. You are an inspiration to me to continually get out of my comfort zone on projects. While my first love is somewhat large scale complex builds like my Operator on the inside fully electro mechanical Dalek and a Wall-E I recently started, I’ve now moved into small scale SCI-fi weapons out of Eva foam and 3D printed parts because it requires me to learn new skills
You always hit the ball out of the park on your builds!! I’m never at a loss for awe struck experiences watching your builds and I always look forward to your next build! Shark!
Thank you! That is so very kind of you to say.
As a kid I had 60 acres to roam around on and though it wasn't Star Wars I imagined, it was a great fantasy. Watching you, dug up memories I need to do something about. Thanks for sharing yours, and as always, it has been awesome.
That's the idea David! Sounds like you had an amazing place to be a kid! Can't wait to see what you do with those memories!
I really like your philosophy of toys/collectibles. I rarely leave a toy boxed, and I have lots of plans for future customs.
Wow!! That came out awesome. Good job Brian.
These videos inspire me so much. Im so glad that this channel is a thing! Keep inspiring people :)
Thank you so much!
Welcome to my world…of model railroading and diorama building! Yes, step out of your comfort zone and build exactly what inspires you…so Brian, take that childhood memory and build something outta nothing! 🤩😁
Thanks, will do!
Nerdforge and Black Magic Craft make it look so easy, thanks for the delve into dioramas.
They do don’t they??? Thank you for watching.
This makes me want to go through some old toys and see what I can come up with.
This turned out great!
Excellent! You should! I have an entire storage room full . . . none of them are safe!
This was sooooooooo awesome Brian!! Very therapeutic even watching you build it...Thank you for sharing this with us, bro!!
Thank you my friend, much appreciated!!!
A fullsize walker would be cool as a treehouse at the treehouse house build you are doing.
I never fail to smile watching one of your videos but something about dioramas just takes it over the top! I have never made one in my life (truly fighting a battle of lack of space here) but love to see them being built. For anyone else who really enjoys these, Nerdforge is an amazing source of inspiration and education on dioramas in general.
I have some projects to clear off the bench but I think it's really time for me to jump into a diorama of some sort.. Mandos new N-1, my old '78 Falcon, Ecto-1 maybe?? Hmmmm
Thank you! I hope you do try out some miniature building. It's so much fun!
Excellent build. Keep up the variety!
This is absolutely unbelievably epic. My room building days are numbered, and this gives me SOOOOO many ideas. You made this old dude's day.....
You nail it again! Beautiful theme for an awesome diorama! Love it!
Thank you so much 😀
Amazing work !! Congrats !!!
I’m on board 💯 brother, 😅 I’ve “F’up “ more than a few vintage Star Wars toys … painted a 1978 Death Star play set… drilled holes to light up a big ass Millennium Falcon lol it goes on and on . I love your channel and I’ve learned so much 👍🏻 thanks again ✝️🇺🇸🅰️🤙🏻
I always wanted to find an astromech or a starfighter! this is really a lovely diorama. really captures that childhood imagination and wonder!
Thank you so much!
That is beautiful.... great job
Glad you took us along on your adventure. Nice job on the diorama.
Thank you
I love any video you choose to make. They're all great. This is spectacular! Bravo.
Thank you
Truly amazing
That looks amazing
Such a cool project!
When inspiration hits, you have to bow down to it and create! There is nothing wrong with working on other projects and with different mediums. As an artist, I mainly love painting on canvas. But I found out through the years, that my creativity was not limited to just the canvas, and I have created some pretty awesome projects that I immersed myself into, and the whole process was satisfying. You keep doing what you love, and don’t let us dictate how or what you create. This is your passion, and it should not be squelched by anyone. 😎
Well done! Very fun to watch.
Gorgeous as always. Love your builds.
Thank you so much!
Your build was amazing!
Brian... Keep creating you have a gift. Awesome build.
I got eyes and I will keep watching. 🤔
Great video Brian!!! You are so creative and I love seeing everything you build! Thanks for inspiring!!! 👍
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it Jason!!
I just did the same… and it was all worth it . Thanks to you and this video .. now I can’t wait to do another one . Isn’t that crazy how we can create things from isolation foam .
Dude that turned our so awesome
Wow!! Brilliant !
Thank yiu
Looks absolutely amazing! Love the subject that you chose. Happy days and model on!😎
Thank you!!
I've always wanted to turn a corner in a forest and see a tiger tank just sitting there. So I get the yearning to see something cool and see like a Gundam around a corner too. Love the diorama!
Looks great, Brian! Looking forward to watching you continue to expand your repertoire!
Thank you!!
My wish, when I was a kid, was to be able to build my own Light Sabre! Just being able to hold a weapon like that, that has the capability to cut through the bulkheads of ships to feel the handle with no other weight to in while off, but then to feel the slight gyroscopic-like resistance in the handle when the blade is active and humming....that's just the tip of the iceberg for my creative wishes! LOL
Toy voilence!! I'm in! Looks terrific.
Lol, thanks
Thanks for the share and the inspiration!
Thank you for watching!
This is my favorite thing I have seen you build!
It’s one of mine too! Thank you
thank you for the inspiration and ideas.. you guys rock
Thanks for watching!
This was fantastic! Loved this episode! 👍
Just WoW !
Yay! More mini stuff! This project turned out awesome!
You enjoy the mini making? That's great to hear. We LOVE doing them.
Incredible work. Really stunning and fun. Been wanting to really get into miniatures and your work here was really inspiring.
Awesome, thank you!
It looks amazing!
Thank you!
This is really cool! Thanks for sharing your journey!
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Aww man! I saw those Philips head screws on the joints in the beginning and i was hoping you would fix it!. So glad you covered them up! Never cease to amaze my friend!
LOL, I couldn't let those remain, easy fix. Thank you!
Beautiful and beautiful in every point of design.
Thank you! Cheers!
That looks amazing!
Thank you!
Great job! This is awesome!
Thanks a lot!
Wow, I’m gonna say after watching over 30 of your videos, I’m happy to see you are human and make mistakes. I love your videos
I do think you did a great job on this. It looks really cool.
Badass build! Loved it, never seen your channel before but I’m subscribed now. Looking forward to more dioramas👍🏻
Thank you so much!
this is awesome!!
Nice work, nice way to use your favourite toy. Toys always were something that could change either through damage, or painting, or modifications, so good on you for what you did with yours. I've got a paper card AT-ST out of a Star Wars activity book, similar height to yours, and my plan for tomorrow is to make a small diorama in a shoe box inspired by the scene from Mandalorian on that planet of no-hopers and krill farmers. Got everything I need ready, just hope it turns out good!
Love watching this one over and over
Thanks bro!
Turned out amazing! Looking forward to trying to make one of these some day.
You should! Thank you!
Amazing project. Total inspiration for my T-16 project and diorama.
Awesome
Wow Brian! This came out awesome! You inspire everyone! Wish I had the room to display stuff like this. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! My wife always asks, "Where are you going to put that?" . . . I never have an answer, LOL
@@TheSmugglersRoom LOL I get “What did you buy now!?” When she sees a package sitting on the stoop.
amazing creation honestly, fantastic set of skills. very inspiring
Thank you very much!
Looks Great!
Thanks!
Looks Fantastic you done a great job The holr thing is amazing
Thank you!
Awesome video, well done!
♥️♥️♥️♥️ super cool! I enjoyed the warning segment 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you liked it!!
This was so worth the wait. I grew up in the countryside of Wales. We have castles, and not ones you pay to get into and have roped off sections, they're just there, in the countryside. My friends and I used to play "fighting Fantasy" books there (we hadn't upgraded to D and D yet) or read "the hobbit". We also had EPIC LIGHTSABER FIGHTS on the castle walls.
I went back home a few months ago, and visited the spot with my nephew (with a couple of light sabers in my bag) and what did we find? A young Rey and a young Kylo Ren fighting for thier lives!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who still draws on amazing chilhood memories
Thank you so much for this comment. What a great story and a true adventure for you and your nephew! Such a fantastic memory!!
You should build a diorama of that castle ruin with two small figures locked in a light saver battle!
This looks fantastic! nice work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hot Damn! This is awesome! I instantly got an idea for a diorama and am starting the plan tonight. Thank you for all the great content.
So great to hear!
That is a beautiful way to preserve an old toy and give it a new life. Greetings
Thank you!
"I am not screen accurate, but i am awesome", great shirt and great build haha.
Like all your projects and videos, very cool and inspirational 👏👏
I love the final result 😉👍
Thank you!!!
love this so much Brian. great great great.
Thanks so much!
