    To add to this, the stones of Tovag Baragu, are removed from greyhawk and put on to an abandoned elvin starship allowing Vecna a "stargate" or "ftl" drive in the spelljammer setting. Great review!

    I like to imagine that as the Shadowfell unfurled itself with the advent of Evernight, Strahd von Zarovich escaped Barovia and now lives among the aristocracy of Evernight. He has a grudge against Acererak and by extention Vecna, since when Barovia returned to the Material Plane, Tatyana was immediately claimed by the Soulmongerer out of Tomb of Anihilation.
    To further fill in the module with this new setting, Rudolph van Richten was captured and killed when he tried to take back the city via the Holy Nuke under the temple of Orcus. His body is preserved in a half-decayed form and hangs eternally from a noose in the town's center. Ezmerelda D'Avenir is an NPC you can recruit to aid you in your dealings with Evernight, prepared to avenge her old mentor. This offers a choice of "aid Strahd in destroying Vecna, a seemingly impossible task at mid-tier where I'd expect this to take place, or aid Ezmerelda in toppling the aristocracy of Evernight, a visible, tangible good for the world"

    This is such a cool concept I love it.
    Thank you for reviewing this, I would have never known about it. I just recently found your DM 's guild reviews and I've found some amazing stuff for my games thanks to these

    I guess my main concern is the good aligned gods. As BYOB from System of A Down asked;
    “Where, the FUCK, ARE YOU?!?!?!”

      I'm preparing to run the adventure path that plays out in the DFR, and it provides a answer for this. In short: Vecna used some mighty magic to seal the outer planes off. The God's don't know what's going on, can't communicate with anyone on the material plane and probably also can't go there. I love how the book goes on how the gods might react as soon as the spell is broken and they see what Vecna did to their followers, temples etc ... let's say: Vecna's in big trouble. Afaik this idea came from a 1st ed or ADnD module where he tried to pull exactly that move in his homeworld of Greyhawk

      @@Tamagotschi95 dang! Its super gratifying to see someone catch this. You are 100% correct that this is where the idea came from :)

      @@TheScottMcclintock Haha :D I recently watched some Lore-Videos about Vecna where this part of his Story was covered :D Speaking about things I catched: The part of me, that misses playing DnD 3.5 is in love with the Iconics :D Keep up the good work! I'm already looking forward to part 3! (although I have to start running part 1 first xD)

      @@Tamagotschi95 haha yeah they were a lot of fun to write. I wish we could have done more with them. And I totally hear you -- Ive got loads of awesome but unplayed adventures sitting around. If you havent seen them already do a youtube search for 'dnd psa'. Some of the humor is a bit dated, but still a lot of fun if you enjoy the Iconics :)

      @@Tamagotschi95 Kinda like how in a Wildermount campaign I’m in, the gods are sealed off by a barrier and can only intervene to a limited degree.
      I suppose clerics and Paladins can still get their powers from them because of how clergy members funnel their blessings

    the other factions are still around. just as small cells inside the Bregan D'aerthe. it's talked about Briefly in its sections

      Dang, gettin' Well Actually'd! But you're right, there's a brief mention in the fleet section that remnants of the old factions exist. Good catch!

      @@RogueWatson it's great work. I've really enjoyed the pdf. I've read over it a few times. Really like the idea about the power of the gods still getting to chosen few but only as whispers

      Not on the Sword Coast, but I assume not well! Or maybe other areas are the last holdouts. Would be interesting to see an expanded sourcebook that covers more of the FR.

      Great question. We have discussed the possibility of expanding to regions beyond the Sword Coast, which is why we were so specific about how we titled this Gazetteer. But as of now there are no concrete plans to do so.
