    So much hate for a band like Suicide Silence. I don't listen to them, but i get them. You can't have just complex metal that lives by some godly standards. Some kids like Suicide Silence because of it's simple "brutality", plus, they like the esthetic of the whole thing. They all look the same. It's like a brutalized emo trend. Fuck it. Who even cares? Those kids will someday grow up and realize there are a lot of other, more interesting bands and genres.

      Kurt Cobain took the simplistic elements of punk and pop and combined them ad nauseam...it was great, but come on...this was almost 30 years ago. Can we please move on to something else? It was the exact same thing with nu-metal in the 2000's, just slower -- that's all he's doing. Playing what you want is fine, but how about something that takes a bit more skill and originality? To each their own.

    • @headcutbloodbitch
      @headcutbloodbitch Před 8 lety +5

    • @JakeMoresea
      @JakeMoresea Před 8 lety +1

      surgeyX It's all up to personal opinion. Just because you, personally, don't like that stuff doesn't mean he or anyone else can't. He chose to play the type of music he does, just as I choose to play Nu Metal style music. You play what you want instead of what other tell you to and you get originality. It doesn't have to be technical, it has to be original.

    So is there really a benefit to having a bone nut versus the standard plastic nuts that come on the majority of guitars? I see plastic nuts on $1500+ guitars so a bone nut couldn't be that significant?

    • @RebuildTheLost
      @RebuildTheLost Před 9 lety +1

      Yeah man, it matters a TON when it comes to tone. Paul Reed Smith explains how exactly every single piece of a guitar contributes to the sound in a very defined way. If you are interested in the differences in the sounds you can look for Pual Reed Smith on the TED conferences. In a nut shell just in case you don't want to look it up, the perfect guitar tone is at a level of 100% ( I'm saying this just as an example) and each piece determines if you will reach that. So we can say that your guitar is almost capable of the perfect tone at 85% and you have a choice of a plastic nut, or a bone nut. The plastic nut can only reach probably 7% more where's as the bone will give you 13% because you have to account for wood exspansion from the temperature. So your guitar would be at 98/100 on a perfect tone scale. Also if you want to know which one has more of an effect on the guitar, drop the two nuts from a distance of a foot or so ont o a hard surface and listen to which nut has a louder, more expansive sound ( I can already tell you, it's the bone nut.)

    • @KNS_Racing
      @KNS_Racing Před 9 lety

      TheLost Thanks for the thorough response. Interesting... I did get a bone nut put in on a cheapo ltd I had a couple years ago and even on that cheapo guitar I noticed a difference in tone from just the bone nut being put in.. hard to describe but notes sounded more clear and percussive to my ear.

    • @JzSage
      @JzSage Před 8 lety

      A guitar with two pickups tend to sound better than a guitar with a single pickup. with two you have both magnets pulling on the strings and that makes the tone tighter. with one magnet the strings are vibrating all over the place

    • @garethniles6152
      @garethniles6152 Před 7 lety +3

    • @mattmartinez7135
      @mattmartinez7135 Před 7 lety +2

      Probably because they want to sell the guitar. Most people will use two pickups. And those who don't use two pickups can still just use the bridge only. That's the way I see it at least.
