Hello Saeed, this is one of my favourite PTX covers. Scott with his raspy voice so strong, Mitchell so clear with his warm lower register, Matt with that deep strong bass, Kirstie with her belting notes, and Kevin with that beat-boxing, stomping and clapping. Then those bell notes, harmonizing, layering of the vocals and the Pentatonix Wall of Sound. They sing this with such passion and emotion. Yes, this is an older video, but they still do tour! Hope that one day you can get to see them perform live, they put on a good show and the singing is phenomenal. Thanks for the reaction.

🎼🎼🎼👣 .. after many times , many times of listening to this magical song Saeed .. I still have similar reactions to what you are experiencing now. I say "Wow" every time and I feel myself stop breathing when they hit the harmonies. This is superb and in my opinion and will be played for years and years.
Pentatonix has some excellent original songs also.

An other nice and emphatic reaction. There are some renditions / songs from PTX reactors didn't very often. But they are really worth to listen to: When the Party is over, My Heart With You, Love Again, Standing By, Light In The Hallway ... And of course all their Christmassong (btw - pentaholics are listening to their Christmassong throughout the whole year😂)

I actually think the tour they were talking about got cancelled because of the shut down. They did a big world tour in 2023, though. Great reaction!

As you mention, MANY artists have covered this song in the years since Simon and Garfunkel first debuted "Sound of Silence." Many people think the best is the version done by Disturbed, and denigrate Pentatonix's version accordingly. I am not one of those people.
The best comparison I've heard says that Simon and Garfunkel warned us; Disturbed is angry that we didn't heed the warning; and Pentatonix tells us that it isn't too late - we can still change things for the better. I would add to that description my own observation that in their version Disturbed seems to be not just angry but also arrogant. That, however, is beside the point. I think this comparison is accurate. And Disturbed may be right; maybe it IS too late. But whether or not Disturbed is right I'm with Pentatonix on this. Disturbed's attitude, if accepted, becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The day we decide that it's too late and there's nothing we can do is the day we ensure that we lose. If the earth is doomed at least I'll die knowing that I did my best to save her.
Well said. I vote for hope and positivity. I do want to listen to the Disturbed version at some point.
