You’re a great teacher. Thanks for boiling it down for us all.
+Tyson Widegren very nice of you to say, thanks! 🍻
Great video! Ordered all my material and am confident to do this myself for the first time. Thanks.
+@paultasker9759 thanks! Come back and let us know how it went. 🍻
Very straightforward and easy to follow 👍
+@calebwilliams2138 thanks! 🍻
The left side drain plug is also in the f350 with the 6.2 gas engine, and that drain hose / tube keeps it from spilling all over the place. Good ideas for DIY guys.
+Roberto Ambriz thanks! 🍻
Excellent video
+@user-yi2zy5ec9q appreciate it! 🍻
Amazon has a couple of tools that fit over the drain valve making it easy to turn, one is a cut socket another is piece that slips over the top making a larger turning knob
Good. Video man I’m gonna do mine pretty soon to my 2015 f250 I had it to add some of the new stuff with told stuff. It to long ago to top it off I would have changed it all out but I just had new coolant put in couple months before when I replaced my egr what a night mare that was love living in comiefornia
+Jake the sk8 roberts thanks man! Don’t envy you there 😆
HAPPY NEW YEAR!🎉🎊
+Bob Fognozzle happy new year!!
Great video! Thank you! Did you use all 8 gallons of pre-diluted coolant?
+Lee Rogers you’re welcome! I might have been able to get away with 7
Curious why you switched from the Orange collored that seems to turn to a pinkish to the yellow? Does yellow cool better?
+Rich Realtor Walters that’s the new color Ford changed to
Good video, do you have a link for the 50/50 mix? My local ford store only carries concentrate
+@nombr no I don’t, just google it
If you have the concentrate jugs just add 1 gallon of distilled water to each jug .
How many quarts did you actually use for secondary system? My worry with not having an overflow is you will see it spill over before knowing it is full
+Josh Carruth I’m confused. There is an overflow tank for the secondary system as well 🤷♂️
@@HelpMeDIY oops...i just got my '15 and only noticed the mail overflow. My bad. Thanks!
Do you have a part number for the piece you found that was leaking? Great video btw.
+Lukas Watson I don’t, sorry. Still haven’t replaced it 😆
@@HelpMeDIY 10-4 bud.
@@user-xr9wu1ns5r if you find it, let me know. I should get one…
Part underneath that was leaking. Oil cool elbow. You have part # or what you had to replace and easy or not?
+@user-we1ly5qv4s part under what? What did I replace?
Mines leaking from that same spot as well and was wondering what part I need to get, whats the name/part number?
for anyone thinking their gonna just run to Home Depot and grab a 5gal catch bucket and have more than enough room for it to fit… that was not the case for me, truck sits at stock height but a lil beefier tires so that should’ve been in my favor. i would’ve loved to have it jacked up for accessibility purposes, definitely recommend that. just like grandpa used to say “if you’re gonna do something you better be prepared to make it easy on yourself because a great plan A results in a mediocre plan B while a half-assed plan A results in disastrous alphabet”… or something like that. i remember the alphabet part more than the exact quote 🤣
great video though! wouldn’t have been able to do it without. thank you for taking time to document what needs to happen and even exploring other option vs what you prefer!!!
+@zachehman4913 haha love the quote!
+@zachehman4913 glad it helped! 🍻
I ended up taking the entire drain plug out and having issues screwing it back in, any tips?
+@nombr never done that so I don’t know, sorry. Let us know how you end up doing it.
I couldn’t get it to screw back in so I took the bumper mount off and then was able to get my entire hand in there. Seems to be ok so far!
@@nombr nice! 🍻
What brand of purge kit were you using?
+Jacob Jones there is a link to it in the description 😉🍻
@@HelpMeDIY thank you I found it !
I know there was a trick to changing the coolent. Thanks you just cost me $81 in new tools. :-)
+Mike M haha they will be nice to have around 😉
@@HelpMeDIY Thank you!! Like a lot of us I'm not going to have anybody else do it for me. Great video!
Did you use the coolant additive or did I miss it?
+Hadley Torres there is no additive needed
@@HelpMeDIY that's what i keep seeing. I appreciate it. I just put in the s&s disaster prevention kit so while I was there I changed the turbo coolant return line, and since I was already draining some coolant I decided to just change it all. And since I was going to be working on it anyway I also decided to do the transmission and front diff. And fuel filters I guess.
OBTW…I use distilled water to dilute the coolant….not sure if it is worth is but the truck is 18 years old and I change coolant every 5 years , same water pump, no leaks and no crap in the radiator. 🤓👍
+Bob Fognozzle yes definitely need distilled water to dilute the concentrated varieties
It's a lot more than 10% plus, that's where all the sediment is. You really need to drain and flush that block.
+@morrisschwarts4826 I mean it can’t hurt 👍🍻
Does the Ford coolant have the additive already in it?
