- If you struggle to hit driver straight or happen to be the shortest hitter in your group it's because you have a driver technique that requires too much effort
Learning to hit driver longer and straighter can be super simple if you follow this 3 step speed booster program Danny Maude shares in this golf video. All you need are two things:
1. A powerful trigger move that starts your golf swing
2. Start the downswing from the correct spot
In this golf video Danny Maude reveals how with just a couple of simple changes to your golf swing will immediately add power to your golf shots while still being able to hit driver straight.
So if you are looking at improving your confidence with your driver swing watch the latest video from Danny Maude right here 👉 • I Couldn't Believe How...

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Tells all you need to know about Danny when he is willing to learn and slice--like the rest of us--as he adjusts. Excellent lesson
Thanks so much Bill

@@Wahgwarn glad you enjoyed it
Its amazing seeing one of the best instructors on CZcams putting himself out there like this, incredible. Also, never seen him smile this much in a video - thanks Danny!
It was so much fun to let it go. I tell my students to do this all the time and forgot to give the advise to myself
As a senior golfer ,76, I need all the help I can get. I'm going to the range. Love it!!
Have fun Fred
Watch your back Fred. Old boys like us don’t have the same flexibility as Danny
Thanks Michael. I agree
@fred It is amazing to me to see ANY golfer over 70 years old being active. I just started golfing at an old age after retiring and when I did 18 holes it took me 4 days to recover (and I go to 24 Hour Fitness three times a week). My whole family and many friends have been playing golf for over 30 years and I always thought it looked too easy but I can tell you it's one of the funnest and hardest sport that I've ever tried and what I like about it is that there are so many golf courses to play at.🏌️♀️
Excellent session, Danny. Great to see you master the new tips so quickly and successfully. Such an inspiration! Thank you!
Wow, what a powerful lesson. Great job Danny and James!
Danny, thanks for sharing. This is one of your best training videos. Well done!
Danny, Ive been watching a lot of your teaching videos and they have helped my game. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to bring us along, you are up there with the best of them.
You are very welcome
Good information. I like how Danny talked about feeling “loose” and relaxed. I find myself during a round getting tighter as the round goes on and need to stay loose.
Great. Really enjoyed Danny learning himself how to hit it further. So encouraging for the rest of us.
Great to see you with that epiphany smile of disbelief as the results from the lesson shine through. It’s usually you having that effect on your students.
Hope you can explain that to us mere mortals in the usual Danny Maude way. Thanks Danny!
💯 Craig, I will break it down for you in next weeks videos
you bring us challenges every week. Love this lesson.
Danny, that excitement - that is why I play golf. Kid in candy store feeling! My favorite video of yours. Yes I’ve watched them all.
Love this content Mr. Danny. This is new lesson for me. Thank you very much. ❤
What a lesson! Simple, accurate and powerful. THANKS!
I tried the higher backswing - swing speed went up from 90mph to 95mph and ball speed went from 132mph to 140mph; I also adopted the pre-swing waggle to reduce tension. Very interesting results …..
Amazing to hear Mike
Good to know! That’s what I’m looking for.
Great video mate
Thank you, I had lots of fun
Great lesson! I really enjoyed this video! I feel like I can do this! Thanks Danny
Wow! What a lesson! Definitely trying this!
This is great stuff. A classic lesson - more than anything reminding us to play without inhibition. ‘ And hit it hard ‘ Thanks Danny & James
Thanks John, I really enjoyed this. So easy to get too static at times
@@DanielMaudeJust given this 10 balls on the range - 2 degrees C, into northerly breeze - and crikey what a diiference getting left heel up and hands high at the top makes 💡. As you said ‘ Bloody hell ‘
Phenomenal content as always! This was such a good lesson! You can tell how easy it is for Danny to hear an instruction and apply it to the swing fast. So good!
It was really good fun
Excellent Danny... really helpful instruction...intend to incorporate this "move" in my routine in when I next vist the practice ground and course.John
Love it using the legs to sort of throw the club back! I always struggle to start the club moving hopefully this works
The towel drill can be a big help just for learning tempo for transition into the downswing even if you're not working on speed. Your hands get high and you have to pause to let the towel fall into place, then swing through. I'm going to give the drill a try because I do speed up my transition and I end up out of sequence.
That was inspiring especially as I have lost so much distance recently. It highlighted all the things I was doing and importantly how to sort it. Many thanks
I absolutely love your content Danny.
Danny, I’ve watched you hit dozens of drives on your channel when demonstrating technique but never seen you hit the ball with such freedom and aggression - this swing is more like a tour pro than (with all due respect !), a teaching pro……well done !!
Thanks so much Philip
Wow, especially the drill with the towel could be a game-changer. I need to try that soon! I also liked how the very speedy and far drives made you smile.
Try it - I’ve gained 30-40 yards
The movement with your feet is what I call 'treading grapes' A well known tour player does it and his driving is pure.
Thanks for sharing Nigel
I love the drill with the towel and the sense of freedom from allowing yourself to try and hit the ball hard! Can’t wait to take this out on the range and course!
Have fun
Wow. What a lesson. Thanks DM.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just made my lag towel !! Amazing. Thank you !
Thank you for sharing your lesson with James.
As always, the message you and James conveyed, was so clear and simple. At almost 71 years young, I can take this lesson to the range 👍
Blooming brilliant vid Danny. Thanks for arranging James to instruct you, helps us all understand no matter who you are or what your level is, you can always learn something new.
Thanks again and stay warm
Absolutely 👌
Great show once again Danny, to be honest I'd given up on my driving as my 3 wood is just as long but more controlled, but I think it's time to get over the range and start smashing it, with a smile instead of a frown, thanks again, keep them coming mate.
This was fun! Thank You!!😀
Great video Danny, Thank you both.
Great lesson and tip. Thank you for sharing.
great lesson Danny. And indeed impressive that you are modest enough to accept advice.
I appreciate that! I always feel we are learners first. There’s always more to learn
Danny, really enjoyed the insightful banter between you and James Tait in gaining speed and distance. I'm encouraged to take my drives to the next level. Great to see you smash it...big hitter!
This was fun today Danny! With sooooooo much information out there and trying to implement EVERYTHING it gets in the way of just going out and enjoying the game. I have learned a lot watching you and trying bits and pieces to my game. But ultimately it all gets into my head trying so hard to get my handicap down. I am a 60 year old man that just wants to play the game well enough to enjoy it! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and wisdom, it encouraging.
It certainly can David, sometimes it’s great to take off the shackles
Dan my man. Excellent stuff both of you. Thanks.👍
Ok, I’m gonna go ahead and say what everyone else is thinking….
Danny is the best instructor on CZcams. These lessons are visual, with clear explanations and demonstrations that include the trial and error learning process.
If you’ve not watched the pitching video with Alastair, go watch it! It’s pure gold!
Nicely done, Danny!
That’s super kind Chad thank you so much for the support
Unreal, thanks Danny!
Wow, can't wait to try this out there. Thank you 😊
Hope you like it, certainly put a smile on my face
Another cracking video Danny, as a great tutor, I hope you can now understand “bringing a smile to my face” feeling us pupils have when we follow your tuition.
So kind Graham, I just love it
Absolutely excellent Danny. Thanks James.
Glad you enjoyed it
So many great points on this video. Great work, Danny! I’ll be doing this at the range this weekend! Thank you!
Have fun Kyle
Brilliant video Danny. I've never heard anyone say that the lead arm could bend and keeping mine straight has really limited my swing. I cant wait to try this on the range. Thank you👍
Great! Loved this enthusiasm to get better even from someone as good as Danny :)
That was so much fun to watch! I love the towel idea as well!
Glad you liked it!! Me too
As always a great video and instructions
Wow, what a fantastic lesson Danny, so awesome to see you on the range learning and passing it on. Love the trigger moves and towel drill
Thank you Anthony 😁
Excellent video, Danny. Thanks so much, James for sharing your drill. Will start using it immediately. Good luck in your long drive journey. Cheers.
He was really good
Outstanding video Danny and James. Thanks for this.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the lesson! Senior golfer here (74). I will need to get more flexibility to get that turn. I have lost distance over the years but I have developed very good dispersion. I will need to work and find my hardest swing that I can control. In my younger years I had a much more violent swing. After playing more than 35 years of golf I ended up getting lower back surgery. I have taught myself a swing that gets the ball out there carrying 210 yds and roll out another 20 yards. I am always in search of gaining more distance. I will use these tips and work on getting more flexibility to gain more distance.
Fantastic lesson!...I'm a fit and strong 10 hdcp.....yet I always get out driven by my older and less fit friends....I'll take these tip to the range and start driving up to my potential!...Thanks.
Great to be watching from Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. You're my go to man. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the support Rob
Can’t wait to get up the range and try this out.👍🏻
Danny Maude - Simply the best. Always finds words and swing feelings to make his lessons understandable and "doable' for amateur golfers. My game has improved through his teachings. Tell your golfing friends about Danny's site. They will thank you for it.
I re-watched this: you're transmitting the same joy your older player had when he gained 100 yards with the "swoosh"! Wonderful video!
We all love to smack it
getting a towel taped up right now! Thanks, yesterday I played with a few big hitters and it would be great to send a few like them.
Unbelievable lesson Danny, I really needed to see a lesson like this because when I’m on the range I always feel like trying this but since I was never taught that it’s ok to raise my lead foot and to get my hands that high, I wouldn’t but now I can’t wait to get to the range to try this out. Thanks for thinking outside of the box and bringing someone in with a different goal and technique to swinging driver. Danny you always deliver!
Thank you Arnold! Appreciate you taking the time to comment 👍
Great tip thanks Danny and James
Our pleasure Steve
I love Danny’s videos. He has a talent for breaking down swing sequences and explaining them in a way that I can understand and implement. I am very comfortable with most of the clubs in my bag but I still get scared to use my driver. I can’t wait to hit the driving range to try out these tips!
Love to hear how you get on with this one Michael
@@DanielMaude it’s been in the mid 20’s here for a few days now but I was able to hit a few drives at the range today. My dispersal is still varied but I somehow have better control. What was normally a hard slice to the right is now more of a cut. With more practice this should not only keep my ball in play but I should be hitting more of my second shots from the fairway! Thanks for the advice, I’m going to try the wrapped and taped towel drill.
Love the tips.
A similar drill to your rope trick Danny, with more resistance. Inspired once again! Thank you
Absolutely Roger
Great tips on getting the sequence right, loading and unloading, and having fun to create more speed.
Glad you liked it!
Wow. Had my best driving session at the range for ages! Love the focus on putting pressure on right and then left foot. Defo like the feeling of stability and balance that gave me confidence of swing fast. When combined with Danny's video with Pete Cowan I hit more long (for me) and straight drives today than I have done for so long!
That’s brilliant to hear
Great information Danny thanks James.
Pleasure Randy
Great Video seeing you in the student role again. Constant learning is so important, as is may open your eyes for new concepts or drills or feels, which you can use for future lessons and videos. Also great for self reflection and improvement.
I love to learn Simon, it’s something that is a never ending journey
Excellent video. Watching the teacher learn, adapt and execute. And to bring us along for the lesson to learn as well. Very generous and totally inspiring. Some of us aren’t dreaming of hitting it 300 but finding 225, or more, would be awesome enough and seems like a reachable goal with these drills and techniques so clearly demonstrated. Thanks again, Danny, for another fantastic video. You’re the best!
That’s really kind, I would love to hear how you get on
I’m going to give it a try. I’m able to go low occasionally (I shoot in the 70’s sometimes) but I’m driving it nowhere. Feels like I’ve tried everything to no avail. Frustrating to say the least. But thanks again for the inspiration. Really enjoyed watching you go at it! Good on you, brother!
Great Stuff Danny & James! The missing piece for my swing was the feel created by the towel drill. Takes my hands out of it and totally different than doing the same drill with a rope or a super flexible shaft. Personally for my swing it has been transformative. You may lose money on this one because your students will require fewer lessons. I'm smashing my 5 wood almost as far as my driver was going last year. Can't wait to get fitted for my new driver!
Steak dinner on me if you ever get to Calgary, Alberta!
💪
Brilliant video. Some great content from you both.
Glad you enjoyed it Colin
Danny, been following you for many years. This is without a doubt the best session ever. Terrific!
So glad you enjoyed it
I don't know who this Danny is but just started watching his videos today I need a really good golf instructor
@@U4Eye happy to help
One of my favorite teaching professionals, Oliver Peacock (Belle Meade CC in Nashville), told me, ‘All you have to do is swing hard.’ He and James are on the same page. Awesome video, Danny. Thank you.
Give it a a good smash Bill
Amazing Danny & James. Will try next time i’m on the course
Have fun
Fantastic lesson. Will try these tricks and hopefully gain a bit of distance. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇩🇪
Interesting approach and well explained. Thanks again Danny
My pleasure!
When a massively successful golf instructor puts a vid out of himself learning something new it’s just so honest.
No pedestal or lofted ego, it’s very refreshing,
To be fair most instructors online don’t seem egotistical but just want to help us hackers get better.
To me that’s the spirit of the whole game right there. 😉👍
thats really kind of you to say. Very much appreciated
Remarkable, what a speed, and what a rythm… Good lesson Danny
Cheers buddy, hope you had an awesome new year
The best on CZcams! Thanks Danny!
Thanks so much for the support
Thank you so much! Can't wait to try to apply this exercise at the driving range! Would it be possible to give us the dimensions of the towel? Thanks again!
What a great video I am a senior golfer,I am on holiday at the moment I just cannot wait to get on the driving range when I get back to try out what you have do in this video. Thanks Graham Cross
Love to hear how it goes Graham
awesome video Danny. Ive been following you for a while now and you always have great advice and detailed videos. Im using the winter season to work on some things and getting my hands higher is one of those things. This lesson is definitely one of things i will add in. Great video.
Thank you Jason happy to help and appreciate the support!
This is awesome! Thanks Danny.
You're very welcome Wayne
This is why you have the best golf channel on CZcams!
That’s really kind Todd
There’s no better feeling, quality video Danny
That was great. James has the same nice friendly simple teaching method as Danny.
Totally agree!
Amazing Danny
Watched the same video yesterday different ( coach) and got nothing from it.Danny’s explanation as he used and understood the information was a big help to me . He really does break it down into usable knowledge.
Happy to help 👍
Thanks Danny. Will be trying these ideas.
Have fun Josh
Great video, can't wait to take it to the range and then the course.
Awesome to hear
A good one. Well done.
Thank you Danny, great lesson for you, me and your following. I just finished taping the ends of a towel.
Let me know how you get on Alvin 👍
Gosh......great content as always. I'm a big fan of speed sessions. This lesson will give me hope for more speed=yardage. Thanks for another great video Danny. Best regards from Idaho USA
Wow! Watching this really makes me excited about getting to the range to try out myself.
Thanks Danny 🎉❤
Love to hear how it goes
@@DanielMaude It actually worked (sort of). I didn't get to the range but I actually tried it during my round. As expected, the first few swings were pretty bad (one weak pull left and one a bit thin), but my third one was awesome!. It was solid and I hit it about 15 yards further than usual (which isn't that long anyway as a 68 yo 5'6" male, but I was excited). Of course, I was so excited that I did it on my wedge shot and thinned it over the green 😆 but I was able to get up and down for a par! I definitely will work on it. Thanks Danny!
I can't wait to try this on the range tomorrow!
This is one of the best videos I’ve ever watched thanks can’t wait to get to the range
All the best Robert
brilliant video..excellent content.
Thanks Danny great Lesson!
My pleasure Peter
