Didn't really think we'd ever see Dee Jay back but I'm happy he's in Street Fighter 6. His redesign is awesome.

Oh how I love this, as someone who grew up in the Caribbean I really dig the reggae vibes from this. Not to mentioned everything about Dee Jay itself: the new redesign,the stage,his new gameplay he's like a completely new version of himself while staying to his true self. A personal favorite of mine and I can't wait to main him again when this game comes out.🔥🔥🔥🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🔥🔥🔥
I'm glad they're seemingly paying appropriate homage to his origin and inspiration, it only makes too much sense for Deejay.

I like that his theme is the only one doesn't really get tense/sinister on low health. Just relaxed and jammin the whole way through ❤
it becomes just slightly more muted, like the whole house party had to go downstairs to the basement for a minute

@@Oscar97o It does when it fits the character genius, Dee Jay being from Jamaica fits this theme well with it's reggae vibes same for the others and thier place of origin: Dhalsim>🇮🇳 music,Blanka>🇧🇷music. Even Ryu's new theme is Japanese based like his old theme and that took a loooong time for people to have a nolstagia feel for that. People will get used to these new tunes as well.
This is the first theme for Deejay that really captures the Caribbean island feel. Definitely like something you’d hear out of a dub or reggae song.

Dee Jay is the kind of guy whos talkin at the party, chillin, going crazy on the dance floor and this song makes me think hes out to dinner on the beach eating and drinking expensive wine. Not his personality.

I would not be surprised to know that Dee Jay himself composed this song and it is one of his most popular works in the world of street fighter.

the music for SF6 has grown on me so much, i just love how they're willing to really shake things up and not fall back on nostalgia like alot of SFV themes. those old songs are great but this really does feel like the next step for Street Fighter ever since Third Strike

YESSSS the one problem I had with Dee Jay’s theme was that there was a lack of reggae considering he’s Jamaican and his theme was more Latin than anything. Once I heard Dhalsim’s theme I knew they weren’t going to mess up Dee Jay’s. Great job Capcom
Spot on. They're stepping away from "national" clichés and it definitely sounds like a LOT of work and research has been put into the soundtrack. So far in SF6, they all matched the character's culture and the character's personality to a T. We're waiting for the stage themes and the next one has to be JP (this is going to be a HEAVY, REGAL one for sure) and the unannounced characters (OMG this is going to be a looong way to June). Really fighting game composers are unsung heroes.
@@EKsUrbanTracks I mean, speaking as a brazilian, the amount of familiar little details in Blanka's theme were absolutely stellar. The instruments, the background vocals, it sounded so genuine that people said it was better than a lot of funk songs we have here.
@Aaron Roberto that sounded more Latin than Caribbean. There’s no Caribbean vibe to it. Traditional Jamaican music is mostly reggae. This is the the closest to reggae Dee Jay has ever had and I’m Jamaican myself. I’m happy that they changed Dee Jay cause this is more a of a good representation of someone from Jamaica than before
@@Dresfvae Agree, Incan hear the reggae vibe in this BGM. Although the rhythm is faster than that of regular reggae music, it still makes sense because you are composing fighting music, and it shouldn't be too slow-paced.

Maaaan the mix of reggae, dancehall and soca 😭 They really did their homework this time around in the music surrounding the specific cultures. This put a big ass smile on my face hearing this the first time, being from the islands myself 🇧🇧

Man I don't get why the comments on Eventhubs were complaining about the music. I honestly like a lot of the songs and am glad they're not just sticking with the same SF2 songs remixed for the umpteenth time.
Yeah, honestly. I can't remember on who's theme it was but I remember seeing a comment that unironically said "Old is Gold" and that they didn't like the new theme. I've loved everyone's theme so far, Ken's especially.
I've been waiting for Dee Jay's theme and it doesn't disappoint has all the right Carribbean notes and dat cultural celebration vibe.
