@@mothepeach Any character can be in the right hands, but he's not top tier. He's not a bad character far from it, but he's not top. Every tier list has him low B to solid C.
The character at top tier is Ken since his kit is highly versatile, powerful, fast, and just all around works the best against anyone no matter if you're using Modern or Classic controls. It's why the majority of matchups are Kens because of how good he is.

@Precious Choi @Twisted Gambit For me, I really like how the tone becomes a lot more subtlety menacing in the low health section of the song because it reflects how Jamie’s Critical Art, which replaces your super at low health, shows him using a throat ripping technique instead of the usual double kick at the end of his normal super. It’s a really small thing but it goes a long way to giving this otherwise carefree fighter for justice, already a cool character, a layer of sinister depth. Where did he learn this throat ripping technique? What is it meant to do to its victims? Why does Jamie of all people use it?
This sounds like it will be a Core-A Gaming certified track.

Jamie grew on me _very_ quickly. Having his style be a mix of drunken boxing and breakdancing/capoeira was a genius decision that really exemplifies how carefree he is. I'm especially fond with the way his animation changes when he reaches drink level 4. Other drunken boxers in other games usually get sillier and more erratic as drink more, like Virtua Fighter's Shun Di. Jamie actually becomes more graceful when he maxes out. He and his hair flow like water, it's absolutely gorgeous to look at.
Truly his most supernatural power is how that intricate 7-10’ braid of his magically undoes itself instantly, upon hitting stage 4 drunkenness lol
In the end his true secret art isn’t one of his kung fu techniques, it was his drip
Agreed 100%. I feel like of the new fighters we've seen he's the best representation of the new style of character Capcom is evolving too. No shade on Luke, but Jamie is one I'm really excited to play.
When I first saw Jamie, I didn’t care 🤣 All I could see was my boy Luke got a new set of clothing and some slightly reworked moves and I was PUMPED! Every day, I would watch at least an hours worth of Street Fighter VI gameplay and the hype was real!
Only recently did I start taking notice to the flowing, graceful movements of the drunken fighter and I had some serious amounts of neurone activation. My mind was racing, and all I could think was “He can do what now!?” I love his movements and personality. I’m super excited to get to try him out! My only issue with Jamie is his hair physics: when his hair comes out of the lovely braid, it waves like there’s a lack of gravity and constantly clips into his body. This is seen clearer during his victory animation. I’m pretty sure that his hair physics will be adjusted as time goes on, but it doesn’t matter too much as his hair has no effect on the rest of his character

I actually played this track during a local bboy session, and they fucking JAMMED to it. I told them it was from SF6 and they were literally were hyped about it and the whole "Street" hip hop direction they were going with it. We danced to this song for almost an hour before we switched tracks. SO GOOD.
Nice. As someone who used to be an amateur bboyer in school this is really fun to hear. I used to play Naked Glow from Ridge Racer 4 and Arashi no Saxophone 95 from KOF. Would have loved to bboy to this song and Ryu's SF6 theme back then

Yeah! The OST of SF6 is a banger! Both Jamie and Ryu Theme could EASILY be used for some Bboy sessions. Heck! I could listen these themes being played in some Grand Finals of the Battle of the Year competition.

Ryu's theme kinda does that, but Chun Li and Luke's themes doesn't, they peak around Round 2.

Whoever had the idea to layer a Chinese string instrument on top of horns, a grooving bassline, record scratches and hip-hop samples is a goddamn genius. And also perfectly understood the assignment of making a character theme for 'chinatown dwelling bboy who also does kung fu'.
Add a few chopped up vocal samples over this and you've got yourself a Hideki Naganuma track. I'm absolutely in love with this.

This funk is downright infectious. The groove at 1:46 has lived rent free in my head since the commentary trailer and it's even better with the full song context. Easily my favorite theme in SF6 so far.

I’m an old head 😂 what makes it so good is that it’s actual music. “Real” instruments. Most music today consists of garbage simplistic looping “beats” with nonsense droning over it. This is pretty complex and a fantastic mix of new and old sound

It’s worth remembering that he apparently is a fan of Yun and Yang. Yun and Yang’s grandfather is Gen from SF4 and Alpha, a man who was obsessed with getting a fight to the death and used techniques that were said to be able to kill.
I’m not saying that it’s all connected like THAT, but it would kinda explain why Jamie would even know something like that.

Jamie has stolen my playtime before the game even launches. Suave, charismatic, one of the best designs in SF history, looks fun as hell to play, and now one of the grooviest themes in the series, too.
If the other new characters are anywhere as close to as lovable as Jamie, SF6 will be the best SF launch to date.

Man I feel like my entire excitement for Street Fighter in general got reignited as soon as this guy showed up on the announcement. Everything else after that has been great too but I saw Jamie appear and he was just an instant favourite character.

Music was sooooo essential to the vibe of SF2, Alpha series, sf3, etc. They're finally bringing music back and making it a focus again.
The SF5 soundtrack was amazing, outside of 1 or 2 letdowns like Juri’s theme all of the tracks are really good. Probably the most underrated part of the game.

SFV’s OST was great, it’s just probably gonna be slept on for a while since the game was so polarizing for a good bit, until they started gradually turning it around well after release

I’m dying for Guile’s too, they seem like they’re nailing his personality of calculated, regimented, disciplined military man but with a jazzy flair that might reflect something, like to show he’s in a new chapter for himself now
Based on the jumpsuit he could be back in service flying again, or guiding the next generation of pilots (also likely mentoring, or having mentored, Luke), presumably stateside at one of our domestic bases
If it’s the latter that would explain the bit of jazzy in the theme: he’s still serving the Air Force, but is getting to enjoy civilian life again and maybe has renewed purpose and is a bit more happy
When i saw how Jamie will dance to his own theme if you time it and how his taunt changes based on your Drink Level makes me want to main him.

All these themes have this vaguely Street Fighter vibe paired with a revitalized triumphant feel. Not a music expert in any way but I'm still loving these themes.

i genuinely love the critical health section, mostly because it sounds like, what most fighting games don't consider, that you're really on the verge of consciousness, about to be knocked out in any spare few hits, and someone is just playing this through a radio in the background and all you're absorbing is warped, distant-sounding, and hard to make out noise in the background
This song set such a high peak for me music wise and so far no one has even come close to beating the top player. Easily the best song in the game so far.

@@mohamedsuudi7063 I heard it and I understand why you like it, but for me is too constant, is a nice song to chill on a tropical island, but for a fight, it doesn't have that strong energy you need.
That's why I like so much Jamie's theme, it have every phase of a fight, it had a pause before the final showdown and in the end it tells you "Is not over yet, gotta keep moving", for me that's amazingly well done in his theme, is not just because it sounds good or the rhythm is catchy.
