I know I make a lot of videos with these too but what can I say I love this couple. and since this year will be the 25 anniversary of cat's don't dance, I want to show some love to my favorite film.

I dunno if this is a complaint, but I suddenly became aware how couples should show love without having to kiss everytime or doing anything vulgar and that idea should be more used at films
Like, we can see they're perfect for each other without having to trespass that line, a kiss isn't particularly necessary but we all wanted to see it in the end XD
My first instinct when she couldn't catch up to that bus was that, if I were her, I would've screamed bloody murder. _That_ would've gotten him to look back.
The thing is, I had gotten so invested by that point that I was actually going to do it. My body then reminded itself that I wasn't actually there.

This movie was so underrated and overlooked. The animation was great, the story line really hadn't been done before, and the scenes and characters were relatable. I miss good story telling in a movie😔

While still in concept, it was gonna be like Who framed roger rabbit, with Michael Jackson playing the lead role. It was also gonna be more mature and focus very heavily on racism. Somewhere along the line people decided that it would be too expensive and too dark.
As it is now, well , my parents bought it when I was like four (and cat obsessed) and I loved it, and still do! And it still deals with racism, just in a way that translates better for a kids movie. The music is great! I even have Our Time Has Come and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now on my phone as part of my travel playlist, along with other movies songs like On My Way from Brother Bear and Real Gone from Cars
It's the first time I've heard of this movie too! Another one to add to my ever growing watchlist

Ah, Cats Don't Dance, a movie about prejudice and fighting the upper crust on behalf of the crushed working class! One of the movies that birthed some of the greatest minds in animation. This, Animalympics, and The Iron Giant were some of the pedestals in whoch animation's greats stood!

I love the iron giant. My absolute favorite movie ever since i was a kid. I can always watch this movie and cry at the end. I've been hoping for second movie so bad but i don't think there will ever be one :(
You know what? Pretty sure this is the definition of a manic pixie dream boy and his realist counterpart that's given up on her dreams, it follows all the tropes of inspiring the realist to get out there and embrace their dreams again and all of that sappy stuff which is just really fun to see turned on its head
By that first conclusion I mean he's little pathetic and very stupid at time but he means well, and along with that so happy-go-lucky and persistent about that optimism

Gotta love that dynamic honestly, sure it's a tired trope but so long as the two actually feel like characters and not just two-dimensional plot devices all is well.

but, (weirdly after everything that has happened) also an "optimistic" realist... Personalities are weird... I'm weird.
I try not to think about it when it gets to this point, because it makes me feel too uncertain. 😭
I mean pretty sure this is a subvertion of the manic pixie trope. Usually in this story, only the realist changed, but here they both became the better version of themselves. Man, they're ahead of their time

Love the trope of clumsy golden retriever (or in this case orange cat) boyfriend and grumpy, emotionally done yet still very smitten girlfriend. The clumsy loving antics of the boyfriend are the only thing that can get the girlfriend to smile, I love this trope very much.
Not really "clumsy golden retriever" but I always liked the dynamic ever since I saw Gambit/Rogue's interactions in the X-Men.

I like the little detail they did with Sawyer's little bangs/front curl, that the animators essentially use it as an extension of her character. When she's confident in herself/Danny's dream the curl comes back all perfect and fluffed. It's a nice little detail ❤

Honestly this movie got me through a very hard time in my life when I was a kid. Being bullied and belittled at school and then at home my dream of being animator was seen as a disappointment. (Since everyone else was into medical and science/ everyone was smarter than me, family wise) when Danny gives his speech behind stage, I felt he was talking to me. I know it's not a perfect movie but I love this movie alot. For me at least at the time it taught me to never give up in yourself even if no one believes in you.. and no one can take away the passion you feel doing the thing you love. Also was brave enough to show racism in Hollywood in a children's movie

This movie is so iconic. The animation was gorgeous, the characters where charming, the music was amazing, and the villian was memorable.

@@whoareyoutoaccuseme6588 The exact reason for it failing is obv unknown, but it probably didn't help that this movie went through production hell for years, the animation studio that was working on it (Turner Animation) was bought out by Warner Bros during production, Warner Bros gave this movie pretty much no marketing budget, and it was a non Disney animated movie that came out during the Disney renaissance-- iirc it was competing with Hercules.
Sadly, WB hasn't touched this movie since, not even to give it a Blu Ray like The Iron Giant :/

One of the most unique, amazing, beautifully animated and breathtaking told stories in animation.
I'm not exagerating, the movie's plot is so original and the use of animals for the main cast was a great decisions that gives it so much life.
And the animation is absolutely stunning! It is so smooth, alive, attractive and overall charming.
And Danny and Sawyer, they are just one of the most wonderful couples ever in animation! The way they are written and developed is sublime, also that since the first time I fell in love with them, and even more when they werw slowly becoming a pair, even MORE when they werw about to KISS! Seriously when that man appeared in the mid ruining the kiss I just screamed in frustration.
But still, they're still one of my favorites.

I discovered this movie as a kid because my mom used to go to a Block Buster and rent movies for me and this was one of them. And I am SO GLAD she did because if she hadn’t I never would’ve grown up with this masterpiece. It’s truly a hidden gem of my childhood.

This film is so underrated and overlooked it deserves more attention. The dance sequences and songs are top notch and while there’s some outdated references towards the beginning the rest is great and a fun watch. Love this movie and still go back to it at least once a year.

You know how your brain remembers some weirdly specific things when you were little? I remember being like 4 years old and seeing a little bit of this movie on TV, after all these years I still remember it but I never ended up finding what the name of the movie was, thank you so much for this I can experience a part of my childhood again! really funny edits btw ^^
That was my brain with Osmosis Jones since I remembered seeing a few minutes of it on a long bus ride and didn't know the name of it or its characters (it just didn't stick). All I had to go on was what the characters looked like (just Ozzie, Drix, the dad character being a huge slob, and the villain). Years and years later I mentioned the character designs to a friend of mine because I was watching the anime Cells at Work, and he said the name of Osmosis Jones. I googled it and all the memories came back. I also rewatched the movie and ended up liking it! Though it definitely has that 90s and 2000s campy gross-out kids humor like the SpyKids movies... And like "Shorts," which was also made by Troublemaker Studios like SpyKids.

Boy do I have a story to share about how I found this movie in highschool!!
My grandma collected vhs tapes of all the classic Disney movies and other popular shows at the time (including land before time, power ranger episodes, old barbie movies like rapunzel and nutcracker etc)
I pulled out the tape for space jam and watched it and back when movies had previews for the films coming out at the time. It showed a trailer for Cats Don't Dance, and I remembered being mesmerized by the animation and music, and I always wanting to watch it since.
I never got to as a kid, but I found it on a stream online and watched it in highschool and fell for it!
Granted it sucked not being able to talk to anyone about, but it's nice to see quite a few people share the same feelings/insight about it

I watched this movie when it was free on CZcams, and I loved it. I love the story, the animation, the characters, and the songs. I really think that more people should talk about this movie. And I'm even surprised that the film's director, Mark Dindal, would later go on to make Disney's funniest masterpiece, The Emperor's New Groove. I'm looking forward to his comeback for the Garfield animated movie.

Who'd have thought *Jasmine Guy would be the speaking voice for Sawyer. I feel like her singing voice would have fit Sawyer's character so much better than *Natalie Cole. Really threw me even as a kid that the voices were so different lol

Oh man I loved this movie as a kid. Such a strong concept, great characters and amazing music! Even to this day, I still go back and watch it because of the great memories I have of it. Very underrated movie 💕

They were so cute together!!!! Danny’s constant optimism got through Sawyer’s negativity and it’s the greatest.
One of my all time favorite films. Saw this for the very first time when I was 6 years old, and watched it with my grandparents back in 1999. Forever one of my all time favorite memories.
Dance montage had me in tears, so amazing, so beautifully animated. My heart was full.
Also, side note, at the "4 and 20 blackbirds" part, I thought they said" You know they're gonna die"
They really are adorable. I do radiate a lot of Danny vibes tho: very sporadic, energetic, and improv for days
