I've owned a painting company for 10 years. The best thing I learned during that time was that I'm not good at everything.
What that means is that I have to learn to give up control of the things I'm not good at. You might want to start thinking about doing that. If you're better at doing the work, then hire someone to run the business end, or vice versa. But trying to do everything leaves you open to huge mistakes and more stress than any person would ever want to deal with.
On the lawsuit, I wouldn't worry much. A breach of contract lawsuit from a company/person you don't have a contract with is kind of hilarious, tbh. But you hired a lawyer, so let them deal with it. You have other things to worry about. And, if it is a frivolous lawsuit, then I would counter-sue for everything you can including attorney's fees.
And, if you accidentally slip and give out the name of the company suing you, I'd sure hate to see a bunch of people hit up their Google Reviews page. 🤣🤣🤣
The breach of contract does seem weird unless one side is mistaken.

That is so critical to have these guys lined up for situations like this. Theyre expensive but a good lawyer that understands you and your business can save you big time when something like this happens.

That really sucks. I am right there with you on the mistake train. It’s one of my top goals for this year to reduce mistakes. Also, I too am having trouble collecting payments and with a big sales tax bill coming up, it’s really frustrating.
So sorry you are going thru all that. Counter sue for all the fees and lost wages!!

Keep your head up! I was sued bi-proxy because a client neglected to change the credit card on file for an AdWords account with a previous agency. 1.5 years later, the ad agency realized what happened and, since my email was on the account, I was sued for tens of thousands of dollars. Had to pony up an attorney because the client thought he didn’t owe it because the former agency “took too long to realize it”. Yeah. When you own a business, it’s not a matter of “if” you’ll get sued but rather “when”. We will continue to support you!!

We all screw up on orders, have operated print shop since June of 1989. You are correct the BS the world vomits is only for a moment. You come out clean on the other side. Just recently subscribed, hang in there keep the vids coming.

Ah, the ole sue your competitor to get rid of them tactic. Gotta love it. Maybe it's time for us to unite and do the whole destroy the enemy via terrible Yelp review route. Honestly dude, what you need is a vacation. I know it's hard to say that when times are tough and it seems like you can't get away, but man, even just a day or two just to get away and reset yourself might do you wonders right now. I was going to say something and you said it at the end. We all have tough times that seem like the world is changing for the worse and it is not going to get better...But knowing you have family and friends that are there is a great comfort. You just have to remind yourself is that these times will pass and you dig yourself out one problem at a time.
Everyone in the UK is having a bad time at the moment with inflation etc but its a good time to look at things and see what you can do to get rid of some of the problems (ie turn the temperature down, cancel a Spotify subscription etc. For you maybe stop selling certain items, start a new venture, get rid of unwanted stock on ebay, start setting up routines of how a job is processed so mistakes don't happen etc.
Buddy I was once told your not really in business until you get sued. Welcome to the club. And don’t forget to counter sue for all your legal bills. That is important. The counter sue is the fun part so you get to dish out the pain to the other party.
Eventually, you get sued often enough that your blood pressure doesn't even rise.

Life will always have it's challenges. Sometimes you're in the open ocean with no paddle in a bathtub. Keep pushing forward however because you do not need to bolster the storm you're working through by showing defeat or weakness. It's hard now but dig deep. You can find a way no matter the circumference.

check with your insurance company, if they cover "errors and omissions " . they'll use the're legal team to fit the BS

Have you thought about maybe getting some help to double check work before it's printed? It would cost less to pay someone to do that than to take that type of loss. Maybe a highschool student, or a college student. Just someone who doesn't need something full time, but can be there to double check things.
I don't understand how you can be sued for breach of contact with not having a contract with them, like why does a judge even proceed with it, how does it not just get thrown out?

Retainer fees aren't fun. Making errors can be costly and time consuming. It's so busy right now. But at some point everyone has got to slow down.

Wow that would upset me too. Now put on your big boy pants-- take a breath and let your attorney deal with it and you screw your head back on straight fella. Doris Day comes to mind here-- you know the song? My guess is they lost a customer that is now coming to you and that's the only thing that kinda makes sense to me based on your saying "Breech of Contract" with a competitor which whom you have no contract... They are upset they are losing business likely to your business and yes that sounds very frivolous. Don't let it distract you-- it is what it is... & it will go down that path. Maybe it's a letter from an attorney and not been filed with the court- and all your attorney has to do is write a rebuttal that encourages the sue-happy idiots to cease or get counter sued... Good luck with it!

Businesses are a prime target for frivolous lawsuits. Shouldn't be overly concerned, it's just the way this country works. Get a counter suit ready. Do your homework on who they are, their business, and any other previous lawsuits they've engaged in. Look for criminal activity, as it often comes with such sketchy types.
First, hope things improve from here on
when you win the case turn around and sue them for damages.

So, if there is no contract... Then why stress over it? And why would your attorney not know this to relieve some of your stress? He or She should have been affirmative on this once you mentioned there was no contract in place.... This just does not seem right........ I did talk to someone i know and well they said this happens all the time with people thinking they can get away with things, but end up costing people loads of time and money....... Number one reason i have EVERYONE sign paperwork for everything and anything before anything goes into effect... To avoid such conflicts... If the customer does not commit, then there is no production.... If they don't like it, then they can go somewhere else... It's how we roll in our shop.. And have zero to none issues.... Sorry your going through this...

i dont know how it works there but if you have no contract you cant break it so the ones sueing you are just criminals and you cant loose the lawsuite if you dont have a contract with them

has to be your last employer , as they have the money and feel like your infringed . People always make the mistake of not letting us know who you are being sued by , as if that is going to help in some way. What will help is you letting your fans target the offender . This may cause up to 4 white spots to appear on each leaf.
Be it color or black and white.
And the same spot in all the paper and the same white color.
I don't know the cause of the problem.
