Get yourself a carport to cover your 5th wheel . Will keep it so much cooler in the Texas sun and no leaks when your out on the road that’s what we did and it’s the one best thing you can do to preserve your trailer and get one wide enough to have some shade so you can set outside. We got a 52’x24’ and it was perfect size. Good Luck !

You will get more for your camper than you paid for it. When I sold my truck and camper, I made $20,000 on the package deal. The Cirrus is the Subaru of campers they don't lose their value as long as they have been kept up like yours. Plus, you have a lot of added value.

This is awesome, I think truck campers are incredibly cool and very versatile. We pull a 5th wheel also and love it but I can see when a truck camper is better. I hope you enjoy.
Agreed! You can go pretty much anywhere in a truck camper, but fifth wheel requires a bit more planning.

@@Stonyboot very true I am looking and saying my options on what I want versus what I need. I am looking at smaller ones 29 to 35 foot. It’s just myself and I want to be able to go boon docking as a posed to parks all the time. Lots to think about for sure but glad to see you guys getting best of both worlds to live that epic lifestyle.

Thank you! And it wasn’t too bad, everything was closed, so we just stayed inside😁. And our rigs were fine, we had plenty of propane to keep us toasty warm!

We were bummed too! Arizona is a beautiful state, and we were hoping to call it home. We’re planning to travel through it again though!
You will live the room and enjoy it I’m sure. There are pros & cons to every rig so I try to look at the pros only.

Condolences for your recent losses. We live in East Texas, love it love it love it. We dreamed of full-time RVing, but settled for a 25 acre homestead in East Texas. We lived in our Jayco 5th wheel for a little over a year while we were rebuilding the 1040's house that sat on the property. Being able to be nearly self sufficient says it all, we do a lot of gardening, have fruit trees and berry bushes, wild pigs, deer and all sorts of other wildlife. Don't write off East Texas, it's beautiful here.

It's an amazing lifestyle your living. We too have settled into a fifthwheel in a semi permanent location in southern Arizona and travel in our truck camper. We love it!

We use our 5th wheel for longer trips and our TC for short or beach trips. It’s awesome to have those options. Congrats on the 5th wheel and truck camper. I’m seeing more and more of full timers settling down to a home base. I can understand that traveling continuously can get tiresome. Especially in a small space like a truck camper. We’ve stayed in our truck camper for up to a month but by then we’re ready to be back in our house. There’s no place like home!
You said it very well. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows being full time in a small space. We are excited to have a larger home now, but we still have a truck camper for our travel desires.
Having more space has changed things in ways we didn’t even think about. It’s been a good upgrade for us!

I recently found your channel when looking for truck camper content, and am bummed that you are now shifting to a 5th wheel. I get it though, much more room. Please don't get rid of the truck camper content completely!
So happy to see you guys back!!! I am truly sorry for your family losses. So how will you manage traveling with a fifth-wheel and a truck camper? Will you be finding a piece of property for the fifth-wheel for a home-base? and then take short trips in the camper?! Love the new fifth-wheel! It has MUCH better space for you guys😊❤️
Thank you! For now our plan is to use a 5th wheel as our home base and take trips in our Kingstar. We might take trips in our 5th wheel in the future though.
And we’re not a 100% sure of where we wanna settle in yet. With the 5th wheel we can buy a house and live there while we renovate it or buy a piece of land and build.

Congratulations on all the BIG CHANGES. Missed you at TCA rally this year but hope to see u there next year. Loved my Grand Design 5er but love the truck camper. I do miss the theater seating. 😊 Keep an eye on the flapper between the doors of that 18 cu Ft Norcold fridge. They have their quirks that I learned over 4 years of ownership and being in the GD Owners forum. Good luck. Can’t wait to c the many many followup vids u promised. 😊

So far, it’s been a good fridge, it has very little use in it and right now it works 100%. I did have to adjust the flaps and will keep an eye on them.

Thank you! I believe it’s the name of the hitch style (the way the camper attaches to the truck).
I forgot to mention, I noticed the side-boxes are mounted to the Kingstar camper instead of the truck's flatbed. Are they permanently mounted or are they removable? And if they are permanent, are they also heated by the camper's heating system?
They are mounted to the camper, welded to the stainless or aluminum trim. Very stout, they are removable, but really they are built into the camper.
They are not heated. I'll give a tour ASAP.

Hey guys - we are thinking about doing something similar. We have a truck camper that we love for exploring but are thinking about adding a 5th wheel as a home base. Have you found a way to put a removable 5th wheel connection in the truck and still make it compatible for the truck camper? Thanks for your input, love seeing the content!!!

What video would be the best to watch for a full tour of the camper? Also we are very interested in the power system. The one vid I just watched mentions adding more solar after getting the Starlink. Did you do that? Also, is keeping the power system and having the dinette area back to stock mutually exclusive?
