- Full comparison of 2024 Honda CR-V vs 2024 Toyota RAV4. Interior, features, pricing, multimedia, styling, everything! Who wins?
The objective of AutoJeff Reviews is to give you as much information as possible about these incredible vehicles. I try to put my sometimes quirky and funny spin on things with my pop culture references.
I refuse to do a boring car review haha. I hope you like the channel and decide to Subscribe.
Who has the better front end, profile, back end, interior styling and features?
The front end of the crv looks a bit more fresh. The RAV4 is not bad though.
CR-V no contests. I always felt the Toyota tries a bit too hard to be a Subaru, but it just DO NOT have the power. It's just playing a bit too much pretend. The new CR-V finally looks like a grow-up and less "soccer mom". They borrowed heavily from Volvo and Audi and that was a wise move I think.
Yep. Honda lost me from the get-go in this vid. A 1.5 with turbo? No thanks. Turbocharged motors fall apart in short order.
@@YoMisterSmith turbo engine was a big deal breaker for me so I bought a Rav4. No spare tire didn't help either!
@@henryhonda8408 I'm with you on both counts there. Although the "no spare" is only on the CR-V Hybrid, the gas version has one (as Jeff showed in this video)... in the hybrids, the RAV4 has the battery under the rear seat so it doesn't encroach on the spare tire well, the CR-V puts the battery under the rear storage space, eliminating the spare tire well.
I drove both. I’ll be honest it was between the CRV and rav for me but I went for the rav. Love both Hondas and Toyotas. The CRV had some small things that were better, but the dealer soured me a little bit by trying to sell me a different color than what I wanted because it’d been on the lot for a minute. The rav sits a little higher, has an awesome ride and does fantastic on gas. I’m happy with my choice.
I like the Toyota engine much better but for the rest of the car I prefer the Honda CRV. I currently own a CRV but I think the RAV 4 will be my next car.
I also tested both and chose and bought CRV but still question my choice 😜
I just bought the RAV4 hybrid XSE. The gas mileage is incredible.
Congratulations,, could you please share the out the door price you paid ? Also, is it AWD ?
@@nakuloza1837 The OTD price, minus the 5-year protection plan, was approximately $38,500. I received the $500 military credit., then I paid the car off when I received the first payment voucher. The car is metallic black. It’s really beautiful. It is AWD.
@@nakuloza1837 I also traded in my Rogue, so I received a reduction in the taxes.
@JohnJoseph-is7uv So how much did you pay, including your trade? You can still share the price of the car without the trade.
@@myytchannel6632 just go to Toyota Canada website or Toyota USA if you're south of the border. You'll get all the prices there.
Once again, excellent job Jeff ! I hope all your hard work is paying off !
Just the video I was looking for. You answered all of my questions, thank you so much Jeff.
Appreciate all your reviews. Also it's good to see how the pollen shows on the particular color.
There is one big difference where I live. There are CRV's on dealer lots for sale today. You can order a RAV 4 but you will have to wait weeks for delivery.
That tells you that people actuality buy more RAV4
Yes it's takes 2 months to deliver but you need to pay down deposit 😁
Sweet review. I was a bit taken aback by your theatrics but it calmed down in the end and hit the right gags at the right times and nottoo much.. But you had fun reviewing this and that showed in the video. Thank you Awesome review and shows you have a good understanding of the car market and what is questioned by buyers a syou were answering every question i had at the time. Awesdome dude
Thank you so much! I think you really hit on the theme of my channel. I like to have fun but not too much fun. And I like to break up the constant flow of information and specifications. I can’t do a boring review. I just ask new viewers to give my channel 1 or two weeks And then they can decide whether I like it or not ha ha. I’m glad you are here.
I got the rav4 blue print hybrid premium 2024….. it’s very sexy and amazing technology.
Jeff, I like the generous interior dimensions of the CR-V but the RAV4 wins in every other measure. 🤩🤩 Let's hope the next RAV4 matches its top competitors when it comes
to spaciousness. 🤞🤞
The RAV-4 looses in EVERY measure, EVEN power.
@@jacobpetersen5662Lol Bro you might want to become friends with Google! The RAV4 has more power, and beats the CRV in 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. I get it, you’re just trolling!! 🤣
@@lennygarrison6836because that's what matters??
@@debkleinschmidt4490reading comprehension, Deb. Did you purposely skip over the posters’ message, to which I replied?? You know, where he said the RAV4 loses to the CRV when it comes to power?? Now, I want you to go back and reread that, and then reread my response. It SHOULD all come together for you!! Deb, have yourself a fantastic day why don’t you! Tootles!! 😉
@@jacobpetersen5662CRV doesn’t even have a spare tire 😂
Very well explained thank you
I love our 2024 blueprint RAV4 XLE premium. Jeff your earlier review sold me.
I have the same car. I love it!
I will pick RAV4 over CRV for the power alone.😂
It has a weaker AWD system than the CR-V!
I need that extra acceleration at the start from a complete stop that you get with a geared transmission. I don't care about the smooth driving feel of the CVT. Good that Toyota didn't switch to a CVT with the RAV4.
I would prefer the honda with the Toyota engine
Toyota with the Honda engine. Because Toyota makes the most comfortable seats.
Exactly - no turbo, no CVT would make the Honda perfect in my opinion
the 1.5T sucks.
Hey Jeff, include driving experince as well in your comparisons.
I’m not much for theatrics, but I love your style!! I’m thinking CR-V.
Thanks for the compliment!!
A CVT and a bad engine make the CRV a poor choice.
Honda 2024 smooth ride i love my new crv better choice you can't go wrong with Honda.
The Honda has problems with fuel duration 1.5 Turbo. Problems with the valves not being cleaned. The rav 4 has dual injectors that solves that problem, however when u measure the paint there's barely 2.7 mills. Don't swirl the paint up to the point where you have To do any paint correction work.
Keep a good ceramic coating on the paint and it should be good for about ten years.
Compare hp to weight, plus wheel base. Thanks
I have a Rav4,, but like the Honda too.
CRV- CVT and 1.5 Turbo
Rav-4- 8- speed automatic transmission and non turbo 2.5
Winner- Rav-4
If you’re looking at a RAV hybrid, we have a 2018 one. Nice vehicle, but the hybrid battery is under the back seat, which results in the folded down rear seats not being flat and flush with the rear cargo space. Anything larger loaded into the RAV will sit at a 20 degree angle, not totally flat like the gas model. A big disappointment, nobody pointed it out, and we didn’t notice until we had it home. And our year doesn’t have a digital speedometer. The ancient needle/dial speedometer just doesn’t meet modern standards.
If you have back problems and can't bend very well, stay away from the Rav 4 unless your 5'5" and under. They mushed the roof down way too much to where I can't get in it and I'm 5'7. The CR v on the other hand is way better for getting in and out of.
The head room is not much. A larger person could not fit in.
why can't I find this exact Rav4 online? This is the EXACT one I want!
CRV wins it's super sharp and room is awesome
Oh and i will probably go the Honda as it looks more honda than last year and back to its roots of less is more in styling but put that into quality of components and design like the late 2000s. So glad Honda is back baby, be mine, baby be mine.. OMG i am turning into you >.< CHeers again you have a subscriber good reviewer no nonsense just a fair review
My older sister, Maureen would like the CRV or Honda Pilot, but I like the RAV4. Have fun in NY Jeff. Review a lot of Toyotas and Lexus!!
I sure will! I plan to film Toyota and Lexus the first morning I get there
(Which is tomorrow morning)
@@AutoJeffReviewsWhich is today.
GREAT Comparison except ya'll didn't cover the specifics of the engine and Drivetrain! I owned a 2022 CRV EXL awd until a month ago when I traded it for a 2024 Rav 4 XLE awd. Why? Only because We plan on keeping forever! We still have our '05 Accord and it drives like new and has been flawless! When my silverado lease was running out in '22 we wanted to downsize and buy due to mile usage. We wanted a Tacoma/Ridgeline but none were available. We figured we would try a Rav or CRV. Toyota dealers were bumping sticker and Genthe Honda, now Southgate Honda in michigan was not. Poof the CRV. It was absolutely flawless but since we want to keep forever we got the Rav at a slight discount 2 years later at a different dealer for sure. The reason was the Atkinson cycle engine in the Rav. It Has Direct AND PORT injection! I won't have to worry about carbon buildup and wouldnt have worried if the CRV DIDN"T have a Turbo.
Other than that the CRV is a more refined ride and the info system was so much easier to set and run than the Rav. If you're NOT going to keep more than 5 years of 70 k or so, as an owner of both I would have kept the CRV. I sure am glad I have the Rav as long as it lasts like my '05 Accord which we are keeping forever! TY
The Hybrid with the 2.0 will not have a serious carbon build-up issue. That was 5 years ago maybe. If you're worried, give it a fuel cleaner service every 20K. It's easy! The CR-V is a MUCH better car than the RAV-4. MUCH better.
Thank you for saying safe travels my friends to the plane above instead of bitchin.
I film right by raleigh Durham airport so I’m used to it. I embrace it and add it into my videos haha.
I'm going to dealers this coming wknd and I'm debating which one of these two.Do any of these come WITHOUT the CVT transmission?
Jeff good review but not sure where you got the pricing. You mentioned the CRV EXL at a little over 34,000. The EXL is almost 38,000. After taxes, title, and all of the other crap that these dealers try to push on consumers, the CRV is 40,000! Not sure of the Toyota pricing but way to much for a CRV!!
I like both but on the CRV i wonder how long that little 1.5 will last...very small motor.
70k on our accord same engine 0 problems two trouble free cars here. They'll both do 300k no problem
Stay a way from Honda Cvt and turbo engines 😢 take my word I learned the hard way... Salute 👍
200k on ours. 0 problems. Companies put trolls online to scare you. Both cars are great. No wrong pick here
Hi y'all, preferring the RAV4. Will the corrosion prone electric cable on RAV4, costing $6000 to replace, not turn one away from buying the RAV4 ?!
that cable should be replaced by Toyota!
I would like to have a new one of either model. Right now I am driving a ‘16 Rav4 hybrid. I will never get a new one because of the prices. I have driven 3 Rav4s, a ‘97, a ‘10 Limited v6, and this one and have never had a repair except wreck damage. I will say….I am not as sure about the reliability of the new models. Mine all were J cars, made in Japan.
Resale value, reliability?
Love the looks of the upgraded CR-V and interior room, but I hate turbo's. Turbos just don't last. I would have to choose the RAV4.
I’d take the rav engine/trans if it’s naturally aspirated and std transmission but I’ll take the Honda styling and room. The new Toyotas with the futuristic storm trooper edgy styling is not my thing.
RAV4 all day long
The RAV4 may be a bit square , but the CRV looks like a bread box 📦
Honda looks really classy inside and out. Just not sure about CVT
eCVT is superior to any transmission. Go watch some videos about the eCVT in "Weber Auto" here in CZcams......dozens of videos explaining in detail how a eCVT is such a simple & superior form of transmission using just an assortment of gears & planetary gears with no belts or chains involved.
What are u smoking? Lol@henryhonda8408
How do they DRIVE !
He reminds me of that on that old IGN show Free $hit😅
I think the Rav looks more sporty and the CRV looks a lil more elegant!
I like the Rav but i think elegance is more my style! 😍
We love the 24 crv
I'm looking at the Honda CRV
Projector headlight are a must ... won't buy a vehicle that doesn't have those
Change the oil and follow the service recs and both will last forever
Fron this 2 examples, this Honda i like more
I feel like when it comes to the mid tier trims, the RAV4 styling looks better. The EXL CRV looks so cheap in comparison to rav4 XLE premium. But the higher end CRVs look so much better! Very premium and luxury looking
I got a question boo boo. Which of these cars are better for a healthy donk? I spent 7k on my BBL and I needs to know which of these cars will cradle my yams the best!!! Thank you
We went with the CRV EX-L. Looks and drives much better and reminds me of a Volvo SUV where the RAV reminds me of a Kia
Me too I love Toyota RAV4
Outside RAV4, innside CRV :)
Rav 4 like ❤❤
Toyota ❤❤
Crv is the size of a city bus, with tiny 1.5t, is a no for sure..😅
I have one, with FWD. No issues at all. Absolutely love it.
The CRV looks waaayy better in my opinion. That said, I think the RAV 4 is the more prudent choice.
I'd take the CRV with the RAV4 drive train.
bouth are cool!
Always have same engine from Camry He still has it ???
HONDA CRV 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Honda interior is premium compared to rugged finishes of Toyota, crv is wider and longer, Toyota interior is to compact like shrinked....but price wise Toyota is affordable.crv has road presence, rav4 needs new design. And rav4 automatic pickup is bit slower compared to crv cvt, pickup is smoother and responsive. And plus we can clearly know the change in gears in rav4 due to automatic.
CVT + Turbo = i think I'll pass
I think I like the CRV
RAV 4 is for skinny and short people. Honda works for tall and wide people
I have rav4 2023 xle premium better than honda crv i dont like honda expensive maintenance not like toyota cheap and no issues a lot
Honda hybrid for me. It's better in EVERY way!
CVT kills it for me! Sorry Honda. Great looking CUV but I don't want to replace a transmission after 60,000 miles. I will stick toToyota.
❤ Honda the Power of Dreams ❤
“You down with AWV, yeah you know me” lmfao😂
RAV 4♾♾
“ITS THICC”
Give credit to Chill Rob G. Snap? Come on, mane!
Power train to RAV4, rest to Honda
Toyota make the rav4 cheaper material that why crv all the time run better more stable engine stronger not louder like rav4
Hi sir
How are you?
Are you looking for a professional CZcams thumbnail designer?
Rav4, more power, better engine-port injection system. No cvt
Wouldnt even consider the honda cr-v with a 1.5 liter engine
Rava looks better 8 speed not cvt
If you can't afford toyota just stay with honda that's simple
The RAV4 still looks better. I don't know but somehow, the CRV looks cheap.
I've a Honda fan all my life. Owned 7 of them and I agree with you. The new CR-V looks extremely cheap.
The RAV looks like a pretend Subaro, MINUS the actual power. WEAK AWD system too. It's not that great of a car anymore AND it has proven less reliable too.
Toyota less reliable, lol
@jacobpetersen5662 Toyota and Lexus have been the leader in reliability no matter how you turn the wheels. They have been very consistent. Honda's ranking has been declining for some time now. Please do your research before saying that about Toyota.
The CR-V in person looks very premium and luxurious, especially with the platinum pearl white color and ceramic coating, while the RAV4 is eh, its more rugged in design, but the seats on it feel less soft and kinda uncomfortable compared to the CR-V
The crv transmission sucks
what a useless comparison. Just wanted an expert to tell me which was better, period
I will never buy Honda.
Very cheap review
