  • A review talking about the pros and cons of the Wild Country Revo, this one could actually make a good devise for beginner belayers with no back up, while still teaching good belaying habits.

Thanks for a useful review! I would point out that the springs/wires that push the rope onto the wheel is a weak point. It is possible to engage the lock (and hence the spring) by hand, then open the device and thread it. This way, the rope will end up on top of the spring rather than under it. This is an obvious failure mode. It does not necessarily defeat the braking mechanism, but the spring will be damaged. There is no info on this in the manual unfortunately, but WC say they know about it so it will probably show up in later manuals.

dude you cant "occlude" it. if the jaws cant move, it still locks. That was one of WC big selling points.

1.- You still have time to go back to 5th grade elementary school and learn Parallel ( 0-180-360 ) and Perpendicular ( 90-270 )
2.- Less bla bla bla and show how it really works.
3.- Dare to use it also as a Top-Rope …it works perfectly !!! So …
    4.- Don’t talk about what you don’t know .
This is one of the worse videos ever about any climbing device .
Zero stars. Delete and redo it
