    After riding Harleys for 30 years, they just got to heavy and cumbersome for me. Got myself a 2023 KLX300SM and have never had so much fun riding. Love it!!!

      Nice, there is just something to say about a small cc bike that you can just wipe around all over the place, so much fun and congrats on the new bike

      @eljuano28 Před rokem +2

      I'm about to do the same, but the dual sport. The Harleys have been fine, but adding a light weight "no worries" putt putt will help the aging process not hurt so much.

    SM’s are a blast, had a few of them but only one street legal 06 DRZ400SM. On super tight twistys no sport bike can even get close. 🤙🏼

      totally this little one would be a perfect starter SM, I bet the DRZ was awesome I still havnt rode one and people talk highly of them

    Forks are adjustable. Clickers on the bottom. I never understood SM until i rode one. It's the ultimate hooligan bike! Love my '22! I treat mine like a mini KLR, milk crate and all 😄

    I have a 2018 triumph street triple RS, my first bike was a 1998 Kawasaki klr 250, one of the best reasons to have/keep a small cc bike is in my opinion its a more enjoyable and more involved ride, you get to play with the bike instead of just riding it, my triumph is crazy fast but you dont get to use all the bike has everytime you ride.

      So true, i ended up buying the rc390 that day to have a small bike again lol

    T-Rex Racing makes a great windshield for the KLX300SM that works great on the highways.

      Nice! T-Rex makes good parts. I just installed crash bars from them on my KLR

    Great review and tutorial. I'm considering adding one of these to my garage. Can you advise if there was much bike vibration coming through in the handlebars, seat, or footpegs? Thanks for any insight.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  Před rokem +1

      Thanks you! The vib was definitely there but not that bad imo. It was not at higher freeway speeds that I noticed it and as stated in the vid I would want to ride it for more than 10miles max on the freeway

    So my situation is that i live about 2/3 of the way up a mountain with scratched out gravel roads. I make the climb on my fz6r and I've made it most of the way in a Camry with minimal damage to the front and the rims (the stretch between my driveway and single spot right in front of the house is super steep and there are some roots i haven't pulled)
    That being said, it doesn't seem to be that technical.
    Is also about 20 minutes on the interstate to get into the city. Nice and twisty going through the mountains but nothing i haven't done with the aforementioned vehicles.
    This leaves me struck between the klx300 ds or sm. I'm thinking the sm cause i know the mountain and would like to be more prepared for surprises on the road, even if I don't go to the city every day... That being said I'm rather trepidatious and would be more comfortable with your consent or dissent...

      🤔 sounds like the tires would do ok off road but adding the stiff suspension of the SM and street tires 🤷🏻‍♂️ how are the roads to down are they in good shape where you can really have fun on them or are they a little beat up? Maybe a KLR650?
