These guys come from a time when bands still had class... A decade that I grew up in and am very proud of regardless of some of the problems that may have come about. We all had a certain brand of unity still regardless of our differences.
They still sound amazing. Simon has taken care of his voice, granted there are some breathy areas but they are also not 20 years old anymore (he's 65). He still looks good. His wife was so lucky and they have 3 daughters (last I knew they were still married). I always loved Duran Duran.
They were here in Ohio recently. My brother said, that they played 23 songs and the music was crystal clear, high definition, he said Simon sounded awesome. This is my fave song, I just played and danced to it 5 times in a row.
I'll double up on Diamonds are Forever, add Goldfinger, c'mon Sherlie Vassey, and an exceptional You only Live Twice, sung by Nancy Sinatra, and of course A View to a Kill, Bingo.
This band truly appreciates the honor and privilege of having a song being in the opening titles of a James Bond movie. Very few bands have ever achieved that.

WOW, excellently done. I imagine this song, even decades ago, was a challenge to sing. Really a vocal challenge and stamina challenge. To pull it off now, you got to say WOW. This was one of the few Roger Moore 007 movies that I liked, probably because of Christopher Walken. This theme song was actually awesome. One of my favorite Bond theme along with the Bassey classics and, of course, Tom Jones. My favorite Bond was Craig.

Do you absolutely love how Jonathan Taylor is so pleased to be playing this song and responding to the crowd? Arguably the best bass player in the world and still loving everything he does. It's an inspiration to bass players, and everybody who loves music.

As with any hypnotic piece of music (rock, classical, film, etc) that grabs you, there's no objective way to explain it. It just happens. And so it is with this song. The live versions (of which there dozens over the last almost 40 years) are proof of its enduring appeal.
