    Living at altitude is such an advantage. My house sits at 6500 feet and I can hit some mountains at 12000 feet within an hours drive. Running literally anywhere else is always so much easier. I always feel phenomenal and recover so fast when I run at sea level... anything less than 4000 feet feels like sea level to me.

    • @mitchwalma9975
      @mitchwalma9975 Před 4 lety +1

      Rampart Range Road is probably the best in the winter. Especially because of the more moderate hills and gravel (traction). Around Rampart Reservoir in non snowy times. It's the flattest 14.5mile loop at 9500ft. So many others but super hilly and/or icy now. Best restaurants? Mcginty's in Divide, Serrano's Mexican Grill next to Safeway, Fusion Japan by City Market. Most in town are pretty good though.

    I just hve 2 question..
    1st how to run in winters when its really cold outside..
    2nd how to run long, without getting tired...
    Thank u

    • @livinglifeinaluggage
      @livinglifeinaluggage Před 4 lety

      Endurance can be built..try lengthening your runs every two weeks until you can run straight up to a real marathon..better to hire a running coach though because they can teach you how to run properly. Cadence should be a at least 35 to 40% slower than your usual sprint so you can run longer. Train and rest properly, learn to listen to your body and always think of running as a mental sports, your body can do more than what you think you can.. I run with a mask during winter, it helps to warm up the air a little before I breathe it in, I think I kinda understand your pain when it comes to running in the cold. My biggest thing is always the cold air, it can sometimes cut like knife to your lungs, that's why most of the athletes train on a much higher terrain..

    Love pat, great husband, BUT he is also doing what millions of women have done for centuries. Supporting their spouse while also maintaining their own identity. More men should be like him, yes, but women do it all the time.

    • @TalbotCoxMedia
      @TalbotCoxMedia Před 4 lety +3

      I don’t think anyone was underestimating women? I come from a family of 8 kids my mom is superwoman. But watching pat be a father and a husband, plus the amount of stuff he does to take extra unneeded stress off Gwen is extremely impressive. Also is a big attribute to Gwens success. Trust me I witness it first hand and watch a lot of other athletes and non athlete family’s as well. At the end of the day it’s a Team behind Gwens success and that’s the story I try to tell. 😁
