Was an early stoppage for me. Look at Sylvia vs Arlovksi, Heath Herring vs Big Nog, actually Big Nog had a couple where he was about to get KTFO and came back and won it, Frankie vs Gray Maynard and the list goes on of fights where dudes were in orbit one second and then getting their hand raised the next second. It's how the fight game works, they know the consequences and brain damage they sign up for as grim as that sounds. I prefer the old school referees.

Saying Herb Dean is #1 is the most laughable thing I’ve ever heard. Pls watch the compilations of all his atrocious calls. I personally like Jason Herzog and Big John. Herb Dean shouldn’t even be allowed in the octagon, he’s just an incredibly likable guy, that’s the only reason he’s still at the level he’s at.
I never understand why Joe says that. Anyone who’s watched the sport regularly over the last 10-15 years will know it’s not correct. Herzog gets my vote too, but I also like a Marc Goddard.

Marc Goddard is the best ref, way better than herb who's let fighters take way too much damage.

Secondly when Joe said ref stoppages are subjective, yes they are - but there’s MASSIVE difference between Izzy v Gastelum and this….Izzy didn’t even try to finish Gastelum after knocking him down whereas PoAtan was aggressively attacking while Izzy was dizzy.

Izzy was so out of exhausted he couldn’t finish which is why Kelvin managed to recover 🤦♂️ whereas Po Atan went in for the finish and anyone with 1/50th of a brain cell could see that if it had gone on longer, Izzy would be lights out.

The way he showed up to that post fight press conference is how he planned to after he won! He expected to FINALLY get the W over Alex an close that chapter in his life an ride off into the sunset with his belt. So therefore he had an epic get up ready for him to rock while he addressed the people afterwards. Obviously that's now how it worked out! He thought he was gonna make easy work of Alex in the Octagon an it didn't go his way. I like Izzy but I hope Alex beats him again! Not due to hatred or anything but for the simple fact that it will shake the division up a bit an we'll end up seeing some good match ups within the division again. I sound like a hater but Alex has beat Israel 3 times now. Izzy has been dealing with this guy for so long now he literally stated in an interview that if he beats him this time around it will be enough for him an he'll consider himself the winner of the rivalry an will immediately move on to the next head he claims to take off.
