It is a Porsche caliper. Porsche actually uses these brake calipers on a number of their cars, like the Cayenne for example. VW also used them on their Tuareg models. These calipers are made by Brembo, they're the Z18 model.

I had the exact same car, same color too. Mine was chiptuned to 320HP. I owned a Mk V R32 as well, and one thing that will never be beaten is the sound the R32 made.

Call me weird but i think the mk6 golf r is the most beautiful modern car to this day. All the proportions are perfect and it’s such a simple and fluid designed. The led taillights are also the best looking in any car ever. There’s nothing on this car that I don’t like.
How come these guys do such a clean job modding their cars but when I see others in the street I see a tin on wheels

in europe and espacially in germany you have to follow very specific laws when modifying your car. ur mods also need to be inspected by an "government insitute", so u have to mod and tune with care and of course much money

I would suggest reverting to stock brakes and put some fresh rubber on, Michelin or Conti,
The stock brakes are stunning, and there is no wash out of front end if configured right.

Ik heb zelf een Golf 7 GTI Performance en mij is verteld dat ik een geen de-catted downpipe mag omdat ik dan niet door de APK zou komen. Weten jullie hoe deze jongen dat doet of andere mensen dit doen die een De-Catted downpipe hebben?

Bruh my golf 4 mk4 with 201 hp vr6 manages to get onto 270-280km/h quiet fast and its all stuck other then the bigger wheels a little chamber and hard sport suspension how is this one not going for the 300km/h with that amount of hoursepower like for real 266hp but the exhaust sounds freakin fire

In theory these should become very collectable, because they are a lot rarer than the mk5 r32 (Certainly on U.K roads) . I had a MK5 R32, which was a great car but I wish I bought this one instead.

If it has a hpfp upgrade plus decat it will put out 360hp with the right tune. My Mk5 has 360hp 500nm with those mods & it's pretty much the same engine.
It can put out a bit more actually. Just needs some more mods. You can reach 380-390hp.

Gotta admit 1 thing the sound a Golf 7.5 makes is the same as shooting with a gun through an empty can, when the R32 exhaust comes in,,, everything changes the normal 7 exhaust had better sound compared to a 7.5, but seriously i have an mk5 that i have to sell cause of oil problems, but shiit man the sound that an R32 exhaust makes is seriously something else
what do you mean by oil problems, is it leaking or consuming oil?
@@hyperpro9118 it always has oil issues, the heart of the car, oilpump issues always oil filter always an issue, distribution chain is also an common issue, then we have the engine light also an irritating issue it could be a sensor that is not responding but it will cost you a few thousands of dollars/euros, my car had a oil pipe problem those pipes were totally broken, i had no info about cars either luckily i gave them the car back and got another one but it did cost me around a 5k extra to repair everything, as in oil GTI/R/R32 are oil consumers and that is very normal, above the 120-140 mark it consumes oil as using fuel, always good to keep a few liters of oil in the back in case of an emergency stop
I have to admit i love VW with the bottom of my heart but the engine and oil problems do make me go for Toyota
@@crownjax haha same i feel you, i love my mk5 gti but have had many issues recently (oil filter housing leaking, vaccum pump, hpfp). sometimes i just wish i bought a honda or a toyota but everytime i drive it just makes me smile 🙂
@@hyperpro9118 exactly and thats the same issue i have with my Polo GTI somehow it just gives me the smile that i need, my polo GTI had everything replaced only my ECU, suspension and Distrubition Chain, for the rest everything is replaced and gues what my engine light is still on

I'm looking to sell my S2000 to get either a MK6 R or a MK7 GTI.
I like that the GTI's newer and probably an upgrade but there's just something about the MK6 R that really draws me in.

Not all new upgrades are good mate go with your intuition .mk6R is a gorgeous ride..I like the centered exhaust same as with R32...but newer versions don't feature that anymore so it's a drawback for me..I'd get the 6R

Nope the MK7 lighter and has revised DSG and HALDEX software.
I traded in my supposedly stage 2 Golf R MK6 for a stock MK7.5 R and I could instantly notice the weight difference and low end pull was a bit keener.

Hi. Is it possible for anyone to explain why these modern hot hatches and turbocharged affordable sport cars are automatic transmission instead of manual?

Because people are starting to be lazy. They want computer to do everything for them. Yes automatic is faster then manual but it kills almost all joy from driving, and if they brake fixing them is very expensive. But everybody has it's own taste so let people drive what they want. Except electric cars...don't let people drive those 😂😂😂

DSG shifts quick, very quick.
DSG is faster. I have an APR k04 mk6 GTI with DSG, and an mk6 Golf R with a manual. Drove manuals for 25 years, including SR20 240sx, AP1 S2000, FD3S, 2 Supercharged Corvettes, a cammed 5.0 Mustang GT, and the 6R. Manuals are fun, but they suck in traffic, and are slower. I find myself having more fun in my APR tuned DSG GTI, than in my 6R.

To be fair that's fast enough for most places, unless of course your on the Autobahn.
Should be a little bit faster than that, even at stock power. Probably something was slightly wrong with yours, unfortunately.
