Hello, I’m Joe - I’m a guitar player, singer-songwriter, producer, recording engineer and teacher!
On this channel you’ll find my original songs, covers and solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements. My favorite music doesn’t fit neatly in a box so you may hear me play folk, blues, jazz, & classic rock - you can call it what you want; I feel honored to speak this timeless language of melody, harmony & rhythm.
I was born on May 25th 1991 in Kempsey, NSW, Australia. Since 2010 I have been based in the US and currently live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with my wife, Genevieve (who teaches illustration on CZcams!).
I play Maton acoustic guitars, made in Australia (just like me) and am very proud to have my own signature instrument, the JR Signature!

"Discovered" you about 8 months ago. Like where have you been? I'm 70 years old, listened to so many great , great guitarists and now you've turned my world upside down. Being a guitarist myself I have never heard such variety and skill from one player... ever. You are such a nice guy too. Can't stop playing your music. Play on... We're onto you now....
Another proud talented Australian, following in the footsteps of Tommy and many others from down under. Look into Joes early history you'll start to see where his long learnt talent commenced, Tommy and Phil made a comment about the size of Joes hands, kinda reminded me of what George Benson said about Tal Farlow.

"Smokey" Joe Robinson is a perfect musician as a guitarist and singer. He can really play anything and is very entertaining. It may well be that some listeners believe that he is simply reenacting these covers. You're wrong, he plays these songs like he invented them himself. I love his elegant and artistic way of breathing new life into these classics.

Another brilliant gem from musically so talented, brilliant guitarist. The 6ths, 9ths and jazzy chords, rhythm playing, fusion of styles, complex runs with twists added by prefect timing and groove.. 😳 WOW! Found your channel just 2 days ago and every time you keep amazing me. And I have played guitar over 40 yrs... At my age, I can only imagine how it must feel to be so talented.
