There is nothing wrong in celebrations in Nigeria it is cultural we celebrate everything from the birth of a new baby, house, job, marriage, death, promotions, appointments etc. People and businesses have suffered so much for the problems caused by the bad roads and infrastructure for a government to start fixing the problems is commendable and we should all encourage them to do so. Road that have been extended, re designed, installed CCTV and durability increased due to the new materials used in rebuilding it. Kudos to APC government for the quality of roads that they have constructed and those under construction. If the East - West road was concrete paved, like the Apapa Oworo or the just inaugurated Coastal Road, we wouldn't have a reconstruction at this time. The Lagos Calabar (concrete paved) coastal highway will last for decades without a recourse to reconstruction. Kudos to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu taking on such a massive legacy project.
Arise news, all those things tinubu is saying are the benefits of the road, are those benefits evident on all other expressways in nigeria? are you guys not supposed to xray those so called benefits tinubu highlighted? is it by building a road that those benefits will automatically appear? what is the state of all federal roads along the lagos calabar axis? are they in good shape? are they motorable?

I don't get the logic of this project primarily based on the cost and a lack of a coherent environmental assessment. I don't like Tinubu but I give him kudos because I think he's probably the least vindictive leader on that continent of megalomaniacal despots. I think he's a bit too regional in scope. He seems to be taking a languid approach with the problems in the Northern part of the country. A place where he received major support in the general election. Nigerian leaders never seem to embrace the necessary sense of urgency. His gait and speech are really slurred as if he's suffered a stroke in the past. I think his commitment to the economy is in the right place, but I fear that he's get burned by this road to nowhere.

The Dangote refinery will benefit from this road as it will facilitate transportation of petroleum products across the southern part of Nigeria.

Although road construction project isn't something to celebrate, people's demeanor towards the project is not positive. You will see them on the comment section clamouring for the need of good roads in Nigeria . It is utterly sickening that people don't see it as a sigh of relief.
A few months ago, l told the sore losers and their supporters that whether they like it or not the project will be completed. President Tinubu reiterated it yesterday that whether you like it or not the project is here. If the sore losers and their supporters open their money again, another 1.6 trillion will be allocated more to the project. Ayo and Rufai, thank you for giving Kudos to President and Minister Umahi for a job well done. We are ready to ply the roads from Lagos State to South South States without headaches. Dr. Abati, the project will be completed. The money saved from giving few thieves oil subsidy payments these thieves didn't work for will be used to complete this project.

Yall complain about traffic in Lagos when the President is around...isn't that why they are building Coastal Highways, so there are multiple ways to get around Lagos...its called detours. That can only happen when more roads are constructed.
You complain about repairing old roads...you need new ones functioning, so you can shut down and repair the old ones. Repairing roads while still in use will slow down the economy and won't last long as well.
