I never realized until now, that the unlisted Gunslinger video has the implication that what we're seeing is a real secret base the characters use and Gunslinger was actually trying to tear it down, but dressed it up as a wiremod tutorial.

Something you missed about Engineer Land.
Near the beginning when it cuts to all the mercs while Engineer is doing his thing, the Heavy isn't smiling initially. He looks more concerned until he realizes the camera is on him and then he quickly flashes a smile.
I think that's a bit fuzzy of a point, but still warrants noting. IIRC Heavy DOES go first in terms of reacting... It might have just gotten played off as "what am i looking at- OH OKAY"

Gunslinger if he truly was born in 97, is only 12/13 as of the series, the way he acts downright confirms this for me.

The skybox console thing is related to where in the skybox the NPCs are hiding their base. Meaning they've found a way to escape Gunslinger in a way that he can't quite figure out.
have you watched interloper? the name "skybox" has been all over anomidaes channel recently. id bet its some sort of shared universe between these stories (thats what interloper is pointing towards)

Maybe they are connected, but there isn't anything on gunslinger in project skybox other than interloper and some other thing I have no clue about
If they were connected, maybe gunslinger could reveal some info about it indirectly though
Skybox is a commonly used term in video games, its just the texture of the sky. It doesnt have to be related to _project skybox_

(sampled from a comment on engineer land) pyro is the only character that cant talk, but if you look at how he expresses himself in his body, you see that he looks very.. uncomfortable when hes around engineer/ gunslinger pro.

im confused how noone brought up gunslinger's animation skills, i'm impressed
that is actually true. I've tried to copy his style in inspiration but it's so complex and good it's nearly impossible unless you've been playing gmod and doing animations for a while
I always loved the "Npc's and ragdolls are actually sentient" genre. It'd be pretty cool if someone made a entire sfm about it (Like an Emesis Blu type sfm but with the ARG concept)

It wasn't until I realized that Skibidi Toilet was just a GMod video series (like the quazillions from the mid 2000s) that I began to question if Gen Alpha's taste in entertainment is any different than Gen Z's.

I think that "engineer land" is a video basically showing what happened when Gunslinger first booted up the game/showed up in gmod. It seemed all awesome and cool to the sentient ragdolls until he started getting violent and controlling them.
Out of all of the theories I've seen show up in the comments of the video, I think this one is probably the coolest in my opinion. The idea that he just stumbled straight into it and the only reason he became a complete sadist is because "absolute power corrupts absolutely."
It honestly makes him even more sinister than someone who purposely created or co-opted some other method or tools or wherein he coded his own "sentient" NPCs. That the violence and manipulation were spurred on by an entirely accidental discovery, and that it was a gradual change instead of something that happened immediately. That sounds a lot more compelling than someone being a sadistic asshole just because he's also one IRL.
This actually makes sense, there's a POV shot in engineer land where his TFsona is getting off the bus that isn't present in the original commercial, so it's a weird addition if it doesn't mean anything. The video definitely seems to be metaphorical, the sentient ragdolls existing in the village where everyone works, and gunslingerpro2009 arriving to "have fun" with them. I also like the idea that he didn't start as sociopathic but became that way because he didn't have anyone to stop him when he started going too far, after all the protagonist in-universe is only a child.

That skybox comment in the gunslinger spectrogram is part of a map compile log. There’s a well known bug whenever you use a skybox texture that isn’t a default half life(or whatever relevant source game)one that causes a similar error.
I love how organically and smooth Gunslinger manages to get these rag dolls to move in a 0.5 second time span.

This is why I treat my npcs and rag dolls with respect and I tend to make a little break room and unfreeze them once I’m done posing them for the scene or screenshot or animation.
I absolutely love interloper, i cannot WAIT for the video, ive watched any summarys on it i can and i truly hope you cover it
Interloper is actual professional horror told through Gmod as opposed to a warping of a familiar style of very unprofessional video, and it's fucking great. The sound design and the cinematography and the pacing of events when spooky things happen invokes genuine wholehearted dread and fight-or-flight, whereas a lot of these draw me in and scared me more interested than scarwd, because i dont feel nearly as threatened as i do by something like Interloper.
It's also really fucking fascinating while also being horrifying, because the fictional software and ideas it sets up have a liminal vibe in the sense they're familiar, but completely detached from reality- like one of those AI images that's a lot of things that LOOK familiar, but when you look closer, none of it is actually real.
Honestly, it's actually very similar in concept to Ben Drowned, and very similar in execution to the latter half of Ben Drowned after they started the series again during the pandemic.

A small detail you may have missed (or didn't include for time's sake) is that the Pyro seems to move on his own during the "Engineer land" video while on the roller coaster. The general animation of the characters got a lot more stiff after "gunslinger" arrived in his bus, too

Personally, Badwater is probably my favourite. I sometimes find that ARG's can get pretty boring with a lot of filler content. So being more direct makes it still feel like an ARG but with a more streamlined, well made series of videos. Plus the contrast of the janky fake animations and the high quality, smooth animations for the living ragdoll scenes is awesome!

I'm glad that you went back to these things. I started getting into these things right at the tail end of the GMod ARG era. We also have Interloper now, which is really intresting so far. I hope you can keep a healthy mix of your regular content and ARG coverage, though. I love your regular vids too.

Classic Gm Posted. A new video. FLOOD; Its another video with scizzy pressuring him, in the video Gm is walking around constructing which is sumberged in the lake. It seems all of those attempts to look in made black figure in the lake angry. He goes into the “lake” in the submerged constrict and then closes gmod, but when he tries to close it just puts him back into construct but its no longer submerged. He looks around in confusion and paranoia. (I was looking for the black figure but i did not see one. Please let me know if there is one.)

A detail that in Engineer Land that seemed to be overlooked was near the end of the video.
Before the video cuts to black, if you were to look at the side door of the brick building, then you'll notice that someone was near the entrance and has been watching everything unravel for some time.

I thought he was gonna talk about the come-back of gmod args. But I didn't expect him to react back to gunslingers video args
I left this comment under the bad water video about the scouts being tortured. I think 1) when he mentions something being taken away, he means his CZcams channel. He's not the one uploading the videos of our ragdolls. 2) each character is not a clone, but not always the same. We saw all the different deaths of the red scout from the same perspective for a reason. It's the same memory. Kinda like how the bendy series handles Henry. He has all the exact memories of his real counterpart, but he isn't the same. These ragdolls are the same but different. Supporting this is how bad water talks to the red scout one on one. It's mostly the same red scout, and so it would be how much he suffers, not how much they suffer.

Dang, shoutout to Gunslinger for remaking that first video, not only was it cool to be more period accurate, but also shows just how much they've improved, and how much more thought out the series' become.
ive actually realized as ive experimented , that with the gredwitch mod ( a gun and artillery mod in gmod) if you hold your physics gun and use one of the guns (just getting on the gun with e i mean ) your ray goes invisible , and your gun too , but if you change to something else that isnt in the first gun category it undoes the effect , So yes, this could be a really cool tip, for channels that do alot of these animations.the mod is called gredwitchs emplacement pack ,ive found that using 3 mortars at once then leaving them (without pressing e, just walking away i mean), can do the effect .
I will perform further tests to see proof that it is only that mod that causes this in my files.let me know if this helped.
not sure if anyone's told you this before but: the classic gm videos "checking" video might've been recorded by scizzy. the "automatic upload stats" say the path of the video is "F:\ARCHIVE\backups\older\scizzy\checking.wmv"
i think it also makes sense since mr. classic gm videos would probably shit himself at the thought of trying to visit those places again

27:42 i would like to add something. Many people speculate that the video was actually made by Scizzy, thus explaining why nothing weird or paranormal happens, even when the player enters the pond. This implies that CGMV is the only one being haunted by the weird figure. As for the description, maybe CGMV told Scizzy about the weird shit that keeps happening in his copy of gmod 9 so Scizzy decided to check if his copy was also haunted. Also it seems that the shadow figure originated in the pond, given how it came out of it, and then flooded the entirety of gm_construct in the latest video
EDIT: this becomes even more evident if you look at the file path in the description, which mentions Scizzy

to further interest in Interloper: its an arg treated as an investigative search through a weird anomaly. its a cool mix of scientific/logical explication & semi-paranormal happenings. its so sick. the whole concept and execution of it all is high quality, surprisingly terrifying, and above all believable
Considering the hyperinteligent ragdolls thingy and the message about a "skybox", and the new gunslinger episdoes releaseing after Interloper got popular... its highly unlikely the two series are related but still makes me think about what if gunslinger is a DM editor user

Badwater's Scout torture vid is genius. It shows us the lengths he has gone to torture a Scout who has meddled with his world, his script, and in doing so, exposed just how evil he is, by having us see what the Scout sees. Yeah, the gore is in your face, but honestly, that is the point. To demonstrate that those aren't clones, that is the same Scout that Badwater brought back to life to torment over and over, to punish Scout.
It would be interesting to see a gmod arg with sentient ragdolls, but instead of the creator actively hunting and torturing them for breaking out of line, the ragdolls and the creator are good friends and work together to make animations

hey i recommend watching gmod weird models, its an unique arg about an model being able to change maps and weather, its pretty cool for me, especially the most recent installment where at the end you're the pov of the model
